7 days to die has been one of my favorite games for a long period of time. I don't play this game that much though, because truth to be told, there's only "so much" you can do so I usually grind a lot whenever there's a new update. I haven't played since Februari 2021 so it's been a long time..
That being said, because I haven't played in a year and due to the fact that I have recently started to share gameplay videos, (I have only shared Final Fantasy VII Remake videos so far, but we all need to start somewhere) I decided to put in the extra amount of effort to make a 7 days to die series as well. This is an experiment and it definitely gives me some experience in terms of sharing gaming related content on Hive.
Anyhow, I am going to do things a bit different this time, compared to the Final Fantasy VII Remake videos I've shared. You see, there's no commentary in these videos, so you'll see gameplay. That's the case for the previous Final Fantasy VII videos I've shared so far and it's going to be that way with the rest of the remaining chapters too. The 7 Days To Die series will be different though, but there still won't be any documentary. You'll still see gameplay in various videos, but I will "walk you through" things differently, which should give you more of "the whole experience" so to speak. I'm still figuring things out, but I'm willing- and eager to learn & try new things.. So here goes the first day of my new:
7 Days To Die - Hardcore Challenge Series.
I'm starting off like usual. I am lost and by myself. After just starting a new game, I change some settings. The mouse sensitivity is insane!
Anyhow, I'm doing my bits and pieces. I walk slowly towards the goal I have in mind. The trader. But before heading there I need to figure things out. I want some loot, I do the starting/tutorial-questing thing and craft myself some shitty gear.
Coming from years of fast-paced first-person shooters while always being competitive and trying to climb ranks and ladders, I am really not a slow-paced player at all. It's extremely difficult for me to play slowly.. But, I need to be careful because first of all, I don't even know what type of updates they've made to the game now with Alpha 20. It's obviously easy to just read some patch notes somewhere, but I figured it would be funnier to just dive straight into things while I'm making a hardcore series.
That being said, I want to survive. I need to survive because the series will end if- or when I die. Also, it's actually the first time I am playing on "Nomad" settings, which equals "medium" I guess, so I'm not sure how hard it's going to be..
Difficulty Settings
Scavenger (0): Easiest setting designed for noobs. - Easiest.
Adventurer (1): Not just a new recruit any more. - Easy.
Nomad (2): Designed for experienced FPS players. ...
Warrior (3): Now you're starting to impress. ...
Survivalist (4): Kids don't try this at home! ...
Insane (5): You're one brave Mother!
You can see the settings within the first few seconds in the first video. Depending on the success of this series, and I mean my personal success within the game, I already have plans for two other series as well. One of them being to max out the difficulty.
- Sounds fun, right?

Starting a new game, crafting some shitty gear and slowly heading towards my first destination. I spent the first night in a rather secure house, at least that was what I thought.. I even figured I could axe my way into a secure chest for some fine loot, as I didn't have much to do during the night anyways...

I guess all the noise from my lousy, rather stupid and extremely time consuming attempt of opening the chest might have triggered some of the zombies.. - I'm really happy with that pipegun I got earlier!

Aaah, the sweet loot! I honestly thought that the chest would give me worse things due to my level but this wasn't that bad actually. A small victory for mankind!

The journey continues on Day 2 and I finally arrive at my first desired destination. The trader. I'm doing some stuff and things in preparation for my next steps..

- While I would love to upload my content on @threespeak, (3speak) as well, or even instead of YouTube, I really can't. The filesize of my videos are usually around 12-25 GB per video and 3speak has a limit of 5 GB. That simply means that I would have to render, encode and reduce the filesize of my original videos, (which basically means to lower the quality) only to upload the content on 3speak and I just don't think it's worth all that extra effort.
