A few months ago, @bemier shared a game on Hive, and I commented that I wanted to try it out that day. I even gave it a quick try, but I couldn't play it at the time and then forgot about it. However, I remembered it again, and the game is really addictive. I know another Hive user who would love this game, @magicmonk, you should check it out. Maybe you’ve shared this game on Hive before, but I didn’t see it. I’m curious to see how far you can progress in it.

You can watch my gameplay here:
The game’s concept is very simple. Words appear on the screen, and you try to type them using the keyboard. Of course, this is a gamified version of that. You're in a spaceship, and if a word hits you before you type it, you die and have to start over. If you can type the words without making mistakes, you earn extra points. By the way, there's a small detail: sometimes random letters appear, and I think these are just for bonus points—even if they hit you, you don't die. No need to worry.
The game has a level system. So you don't keep typing words endlessly. You have to type a certain number of words in each wave, and when you complete the wave, you can see which wave you're on and your score.
It has nice graphics for a web game. I don't know if more could be asked for. Of course, the game gets harder as you complete the waves. At the beginning, the words don't come close to you because you're typing short and easy words. As you progress, however, I come across words I don't know because English isn't my native language, and typing them can be challenging. You know, there’s a difference between typing a word you’ve typed before on the keyboard and typing a word you’ve never heard before.
As the levels progress, the speed at which the words come to you also increases. In such moments, you panic involuntarily and may press the wrong key while trying to type quickly. This isn't the end of the game, but if there's a word on the screen that starts with that letter... It's very distracting. For example, there are two words on the screen: “extract” and “reduce.” You think you pressed the “E” key and are trying to write “extract,” but you actually pressed the ‘R’ key, and boom. You need to notice this immediately and write “reduce.” In other words, once you start a word, you have to finish it.
I've played this game at least 10 times, and my spouse played it once. Since she's not familiar with this type of game, she couldn't get past the 7th wave. My record is the 13th wave. I can't get past the 13th wave because the words start coming too fast, and I die before I can type them. It feels like there's a huge difference between the 12th level and the 13th. It suddenly gets much harder.
One reminder: it’s a good idea to turn down the music volume in the settings before you start playing because it can get really annoying. I like having a little background music, so I set it to 10%, but if you don’t like it, just turn it off completely.
Additionally, you can check your scores from all the games you've played so far in the “My Stats” section. I'm really curious about your best ranking. Let's have a competition. If you play this game and share a screenshot of you passing the 13th wave in comments, I'll upvote it %100. I don't know what the record is for this game, but if you're the first person to reach the 20th wave, you'll get a prize worth 5 hives. However, to win it, you'll have to prove it to me on live stream XD
Thank you very much for reading, and don't forget to share your screenshots with me. See you in the next post!
