And certainly the people running law enforcement can tell the difference between an ice cream cone and say a lollipop. In Fontaine even living creatures that just happen to be able to fly as their normal mode of transportation.... like birds are considered "flying objects" and will be arrested lol
Anyway this little ridiculous thing was first used as an excuse to arrest our playable character when the god in Fontaine thought we were going to wreck her country. That made some kind of sense. But then they actually made that a real law by having the "legal document" readable in the judge's office. Now it's the cause behind two of the game's characters pretty much getting stranded in the nation. One has his birdlike partner Pokemon in police custody while the other has to go pretending his video game looking living entity thing is some kind of robot that doesn't count as a flying object? Suffice it to say it kinda makes me feel like you'd wanna steer clear of countries like that lol
Or at least just make sure you know what ridiculous "laws" these places have so you can plan around them. Both characters would have benefitted from knowing about the law and just avoiding Fontaine until the 4th day of the month. Good idea for all tourists too. If you plan on going anywhere on a trip make sure you do some research on potential mine fields like that. For example apparently you can't whistle or sing in public in Canada. It's about noise pollution.
Ok criticisms of lawmakers with too much time on their hands aside this event's shaping up to be a fun one. We have most of the English VAs back and there seems to be a plot underfoot that might lead to something juicy. Also that bird that was arrested? Technically it's a dragon and the judge I also previously mentioned is a dragon as well. It'll be interesting to see if they might have anything to say to each other. There already seemed to be something implied in today's episode but a human happened to be around so they had to keep things under wraps. I actually think it might be funny if the next episode has the bird's owner present so once again the dragons will have to stay silent. We have a third episode but also an epilogue so it would be pretty funny to have them convene in secret for that last part of the story.
