Honestly the characters this time aren't really that remarkable. I'd say Itto is probably the best of the bunch since he's very easy to use and packs a punch. If you want to know more specifics about what I think for each character and their trial I've left comments in the video itself.
Instead I'd actually like to talk about the new banner system miHoYo introduced in this update. The Chronicled Wish allows miHoYo to toss in any characters they'd been neglecting like in this case Eula, Klee and Albedo who have all been MIA for quite some time. It sounds good on paper but the details behind this new banner are worrying. The thing is you can only pick to try for a character or a weapon meaning that sure you get a chance for Eula, Klee or Albedo (all characters I don't have yet) but there's also Mona, Diluc and Jean on the banner too (all characters I think any older player would have by now) and there's as much of a chance of getting any of them too. On top of that the way the normal banners work in this game, you have a 50/50 chance of getting the limited character but if you didn't get it then you're guaranteed to get any limited character you go for the next time. The Chronicled Wish does it differently. It's the same 50/50 but instead of having a guarantee you instead get a "Fate Point" and having the point gets you a guarantee. But after this banner period comes to an end you lose the point so in the next Chronicled Wish you have that 50/50 chance again.
Anyway I think it's still a safer choice to continue using the old banner. The worst case scenario you don't get Chiori or Itto now but you might get Neuvillette or Kazuha next time or even Arlecchino come the next patch.
BUT the Chronicled Wish also has a weapons side and then it becomes a very different story. Just like the Chronicled Wish the weapons banner has a "Fate Point" system. You need 2 points to guarantee the weapon that you wanted. There's a 50/50 chance you might get the other weapon of the banner and there's also a chance of not getting either. And just like Chronicled Wish, the Fate Points reset with the banner. So if you were actually trying to get a weapon instead of a character it's much better to use the Chronicled Wish than the weapons banner. You might still not get the one you want but if you can keep going on Chronicled Wish you'll have a guarantee for the one you were going for unlike the weapon banner.
