It may be shocking to somebody that just picked up the game but we actually knew since before this game even launched that Khaenri'ah would be a thing in the late game. Back in 2020 there was a teaser video called Travail that listed out all the chapters of this game. The one we're getting to now is Snezhnaya or Chapter VI. After that there was a Chapter ?? which was titled Khaenri'ah, Those Who Dream of Dreaming. So the pay off from this quest was just something we already knew was happening for 5 years and nothing more than that.
This is made worse by the fact that this quest is a part 3 of something that started 2 years ago and even carried over an operation that was mentioned all the way at the beginning. Imagine if you were watching Iron Man in 2008 and saw the big reveal by Samuel L Jackson about the Avengers Initiative and then Avengers happens but all it does by the end is hint that the Avengers are going to assemble one day. No actual Avengers team, no big attack on NYC. That'll happen only in Avengers 2: Age of Ultron. The amount of rage people would feel lol. That's essentially what happened here. Bough Keeper named the Loom of Fate operation and then We Will Be Reunited explained what it was. Two years later we got Caribert and suddenly Loom of Fate became a person. A year later Loom of Fate was revealed to not be that person at all but it was now finally complete! And then this year we find out all it meant was that there would be a Khaenri'ah Chapter and that's all the Loom of Fate was for.
Anyway there was one positive of this quest and that is that it technically resolved a story arc that was set up since the end of the Natlan Archon Quest about half a year ago. It would have been nice if there was more fanfare for it and if it was more overt because I think most people missed it. Essentially back then there was a problem that started that sent a poison across the world. It played out in different ways in different nations but there wasn't really a solution to it. Thanks to the events of this quest though a god entity was able to manipulate the Loom of Fate to draw in all of that poison so now the world is free of it, at least until the Khaenri'ah Chapter.
