Hello to all the Hive Gaming community, I hope you are great, today I want to talk about a game that not only revolutionized its saga, but also set a precedent for many games of its genre, with a quite different mechanics to what we were used to and with a very interesting story Castlevania; Symphony of the Night is known by many as the most beloved game of the entire saga.

In this game we did not have as a protagonist one of the members of the Belmont family of monster hunters, but we would play as Alucard, Dracula's son. In the game we will be witnesses (and players) of how the Count was defeated by Richter Belmont and we will see how Alucard is determined to destroy his father's castle, But as we advance in the game we are confronted by Death and this will take us both the most powerful weapons and powers that has this being half vampire / half human so we have to move through this castle full of creatures seeking not only to destroy it but also weapons and skills to defeat the inhabitants of this castle and so well known in the saga, also with the course of the game we will see the reason for the mysterious disappearance of Ritcher 5 years after defeating the Count.

Something very particular about this game was the implementation of RPG aspects, and is that we will have to not only look for weapons to increase the powers of Alucard and we will have a variety of weapons to use in addition to different equipment, we can increase their statistics with these and also release skills (which were taken away at the beginning of the game), Also as we progress we will realize that this game does not have a linear behavior but resembles an open world, we can inspect almost the entire castle multiple times (and we will have to do it as we gain skills) and we will also face Bosses that will not have a linearity with their level (we can find both simple Bosses as some bordering on the impossible).

Despite the game does not follow a linear format if we will have a certain way a separation between "worlds" or what would be the parts of the castle, going from the outer walls to the alchemy room, we can also access a map that will show us which were the areas that we already pass through the castle and will be updated as we pass through new parts, This set a precedent in the games of the saga because it was not the typical side scrolling series but we could pass as many times as we wanted, this along with the Metroid game created a new genre of video games known as Metroidvania.

This game was made by KCE Tokyo and distributed by Konami and was released for the PlayStation 1 in 1997 and for the Sega Saturn in 1998, also due to the great success that represented this game and the great affection that the fans have was released a re-release in 2007 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and even last year was released a portable version for iOS and Android devices.

Something that must be made very clear with this game is that its degree of difficulty is quite something, because we will not have the typical ways to recover our health, also when we want to go back through an area that we previously went through, the enemies of this will be present again, so be prepared to get a little frustrated with this game hahaha (as am i already happened to me) I know this is a very dear game for all those who had a PS1 so I hope to see your comments on this game in the post haha, I hope you are great and see you in another post.

Hola a toda la comunidad de Hive Gaming, espero se encuentren genial, hoy quiero hablarles de un juego que se encargo no solo de revolucionar su saga, sino que también marco un precedente para muchos juegos de su género, con una mecánica bastante diferente a lo que nos tenia acostumbrados y con una historia bastante interesante Castlevania; Symphony of the Night es conocido por muchos como el juego mas querido de toda la saga.

En este juego no tuvimos como protagonista a uno de miembros de la familia de cazadores de monstruos Belmont, sino que jugaríamos personificando a Alucard, el hijo de Drácula. En el juego seremos testigos (y jugadores) de como el Conde fue vencido por Richter Belmont y veremos como Alucard esta decidido a destruir el castillo de su padre, pero mientras avanzamos en el juego somos confrontados por La Muerte y esta nos quitara tanto las armas mas poderosas como los poderes que tiene este ser mitad vampiro/ mitad humano así que tendremos que avanzar por este castillo lleno de criaturas buscando no solo destruirlo sino también armas y habilidades para poder vencer a los moradores de este castillo ya tan conocido en la saga, además con el transcurso del juego veremos la razón de la misteriosa desaparición de Ritcher 5 años después de vencer al Conde.

Algo muy particular de este juego fue la implementación de aspectos RPG, y es que tendremos que no solo buscar armas para aumentar los poderes de Alucard y es que tendremos una gran variedad de armas para poder utilizar además de diferentes equipos, podremos aumentar sus estadísticas con estas y liberar también habilidades (las cuales se nos fueron quitadas al inicio del juego), además conforme vamos avanzando nos daremos cuenta que este juego no tiene un comportamiento lineal sino que se asemeja a un mundo abierto, podemos inspeccionar casi todo el castillo múltiples veces (y es que tendremos que hacerlo conforme ganamos habilidades) y también enfrentaremos Bosses que no tendrán una linealidad con su nivel (podemos encontrar tanto Bosses sencillos como algunos que rayan en lo imposible).

A pesar del juego no seguir un formato lineal si tendremos de cierta manera una separación entre “mundos” o lo que seria las partes del castillo, pasando desde las paredes externas hasta la sala de alquimia, además podremos acceder a un mapa que nos mostrara cuales fueron las áreas que ya transitamos del castillo y se ira actualizando conforme pasemos por nuevas partes, esto marco un precedente en los juegos de la saga debido a que no serie el típico side scrolling sino que podríamos pasar cuantas veces quisiéramos, esto junto con el juego Metroid crearon un género nuevo de videojuegos conocidos como Metroidvania.

Este juego fue hecho por KCE Tokyo y distribuido por Konami y fue lanzado para el PlayStation 1 en 1997 y para la Sega Saturn en 1998, además debido al gran éxito que represento este juego y el gran cariño que tienen los fans fue lanzado una reedición en el 2007 para el Xbox 360 y el PlayStation 3 e inclusive el año pasado fue lanzada una versión portátil para los dispositivos iOS y Android.

Algo que hay que dejar muy en claro con este juego es que su grado de dificultad es bastante algo, ya que no contaremos con las típicas formas de recuperar nuestra salud, además cuando queramos volver a pasar por un área que anteriormente recorrimos, los enemigos de esta volverán a estar presente, así que deben estar preparados para frustrarse un poco con este juego jajaja (como am i ya me ha pasado) se que este es un juego muy querido por todos aquellos que tuvimos un PS1 así que espero ver sus comentarios sobre este juego en el post jaja, espero se encuentren genial y nos veremos en otro post.
