Donkey Kong Country es del género de plataformas, me atrevo a decir que es parte de una de las mejores sagas de este género para la SNES, protagonizado por uno de los personajes más famosos que en esta oportunidad lo observamos como nunca antes, incluso con su núcleo familiar y en compañía de su sobrino Diddy Kong.
Existen varios aspectos en los cuales este videojuego en el año 1994 lo hace resaltar no solo dentro del género de plataformas sino en cuanto a la tecnología usada en toda la industria de los videojuego, un videojuego épico y que comienza una saga que coloca en una posición de prestigio a Donkey Kong.

Lo primero que notamos en este grandioso videojuego son sus gráficos realmente avanzados para la época, recuerdo que para la época el videojuego presentaba un ambiente bastante agradable para el jugador con un aspecto en 3D pre-renderizados, logrado solamente con la tecnología disponible en el momento. Desde niño me agrada observar los detalles en cada videojuego y existen varios aspectos en que se notaba que se estaba aprovechando al máximo las capacidades de la Super Nintendo. Me encantaba ver el movimiento tanto de Donkey Kong como de Diddy Kong al avanzar y al saltar, el movimiento para correr me parecía bastante avanzado para un videojuego de principios de los 90´s, en ese sentido no logro recordar un videojuego del género de plataforma.
Los escenarios variados y de alta calidad me parecían geniales y hacen que el videojuego no sea monótono y repetitivo al menos en gran parte, jungla, nieve, industria o incluso a bajo del mar todo tenía una muy buena calidad.
No solo los personajes principales presentaban una excelente calidad tanto en su diseño como en el movimiento, los villanos o antagonistas del videojuego también presentaban un diseño bastante bueno y vistoso.
Banda Sonora
La banda sonora es excelente, la música era algo que complementaba muy bien el escenario con alta calidad en cuanto a gráficos, teniendo en cuenta que si somos detallistas podemos notar que la música cambia según el tipo de escenario en que se está jugando siendo. La música coincidía con el escenario dando una mejor experiencia al jugador.
Recuerdo que era una música excelente para un videojuego de la época, incluso pegadiza que resonaba y resonaba en la mente luego de jugar unas cuantas horas, la verdad pienso que es uno de los aspectos característicos de este videojuego y que sigue en sus siguientes versiones teniendo una excelente banda sonora en la saga en general.
Jugabilidad
Pienso que en cuanto a la jugabilidad lo más destacado es que podemos cambiar en cualquier momento el personaje principal para ir avanzando en el videojuego, tanto Donkey Kong como de Diddy Kong son los personajes principales en esta aventura y ambos van avanzando en cada escenario, sin embargo, el que va adelante es el que podemos controlar, en cualquier momento podemos cambiar y pasar adelante con alguno de los dos, esto significaba una buena ventaja estratégica para jugar a este videojuego debido a que cada personaje tiene características propias, por ejemplo cuando elegimos a Donkey Kong para ir a la cabeza de la aventura este podrá vencer a los enemigos más fácilmente, por otro lado Diddy Kong es mucho más ágil y rápido, dependiendo de la situación en el escenario podremos elegir a uno y a otro.
En cuanto a dificultad recuerdo que era un videojuego relativamente fácil de jugar, no era uno de esos juegos que eran extremadamente difíciles perteneciente al mismo género de plataformas, sin embargo, siempre encontraremos algunas trabas y obstáculos para completar el videojuego.
Recuerdo que uno de los detalles que me gustaba de este videojuego eran los barriles, nos metíamos en esos barriles y debíamos calcular la dirección donde el personaje iba a salir disparado, normalmente a otro barril pero cuando era en movimiento era algo bastante difícil en algunos casos y créanme hay muchos barriles en este videojuego.

Confieso que al ver este videojuego o la primera publicidad no me llamaba mucho la atención, a pesar de que me agrada el género de plataformas tengo que jugarlos para que saber si deseo seguir con ellos o dejarlos, recuerdo que para mi Super Nintendo tenía varios juegos del genero de plataforma, sin embargo, tenía y jugaba más el género de lucha, en realidad no fue de esos videojuegos que me enamoró a primera vista, sin embargo, los gráficos me parecían geniales para la época.
