Hola Gamers, como siempre digo es un placer escribir nuevamente para todos ustedes, pero no solo escribir es lo que me emociona, es poder expresarme y compartir con todos los amantes de los videojuegos experiencias y sentimientos que muchos compartimos en esta comunidad, es por esa razón que me encanta contar algunas anécdotas de videojuegos y consolas que tuve la dicha de disfrutar hace algunos años. En esta ocasión quiero compartir con todos ustedes la historia de cómo llegue a tener mi Xbox 360, una consola soñada por cualquier gamer hace algunos años.
Hace algún tiempo escribí sobre como llegue a tener mi primera consola de Microsoft (Xbox) en ese post que les dejaré el enlace abajo describo como tuve que decidirme entre Xbox y la consola GameCube de Nintendo, a pesar de que tenía prácticamente a la mano la GameCube esperé un poco para que mis padres me pudieran comprar la Xbox. Eran años en los cuales comenzaba una gran competencia entre las grandes compañías por la mejor y más actualizada consola, en mi caso amaba mi Xbox, sin embargo, a lanzarse la Xbox 360 evidentemente llamó mi atención. Me parecía una diferencia bastante notable entre la calidad gráfica en los videojuegos de ambas consolas.
Una Consola Muy Costosa
Es evidente los gamers queremos siempre jugar los videojuegos más actualizados, los que tengan la mejor tecnología y que nos otorguen nuevas experiencias al jugar, esto también ocurre con las consolas, anhelamos poseer las que recién salen del horno de las grandes compañías. Quizás cuando somos niños o adolescentes este sentimiento se multiplica, sin embargo, cuando somos muy jóvenes y le exigimos a nuestros padres comprarnos esas nuevas maravillas tecnológicas la realidad puede dar un fuerte golpe, cuando somos niños muchas veces no comprendemos el valor del dinero ni el esfuerzo que realizan las personas por complacernos, cuando somos adolecentes tal vez tenemos una mejor percepción pero de alguna u otra manera seguimos siendo inmaduros y deseamos tener lo mejor en muy poco tiempo, sobre todo, sin esfuerzo.
Para nadie es un secreto que en los países latinoamericanos en la mayoría de los casos hay que realizar un gran esfuerzo económico para adquirir esas consolas recién sacadas del horno. Soy de Venezuela y muchos conocemos esa repetida historia del declive económico, para el lanzamiento de la Xbox 360 no existía una crisis tan acentuada, sin embargo, se comenzaba a notar que cada vez era más difícil adquirir ciertos productos tecnológicos en cuanto al precio.
En uno de mis cumpleaños mis padres me regalaron la N64 y la PlayStation, para la época eran las consolas recién sacadas del horno, sin embargo, en el caso de la Xbox 360 recuerdo que ya no era tan niño y sabía lo que costaba, sobre todo sabía lo que debía trabajar mis padres para poder comprármela, los tiempos habían cambiado y yo tenía que ser maduro y enfrentarme a esa realidad.
En momentos me daba por vencido, no tenía edad para trabajar aun dependía totalmente de mis padres y me parecía que la compra de esa consola era un sueño lejano. Recuerdo que le comenté a mis padres sobre ella y su reacción era la que no había esperado, miraron la imagen pero más se fijaron en el precio, solo con la mirada sentía que no iba a tener esa nueva consola, pero al mismo tiempo me ponía en los zapatos de mis padres y podía comprenderlos.
Primera Xbox Dañada
Mi Xbox se le dañó el lector de CD y otros componentes, solo podía jugar los videojuegos instalados en el disco duro los cuales eran muy pocos, definitivamente quería otra consola, sin embargo, la vida seguía. Recuerdo pasar algunos momentos del día revisando las especificaciones técnicas de la Xbox 360, además, veía videos y revisaba contenido de esos videojuegos que se estaban lanzado para esa nueva consola.
Me emocionaba pensar que en algún momento podría tener esa consola, incluso veía mas allá, esperaba en algún momento trabajar y poder comprarme consolas y videojuegos con mi propio dinero, por supuesto, de manera responsable y cuidando mis finanzas personales. Algo que logré tiempo después sin embargo, en ese momento solo deseaba jugar con la Xbox 360.
Mis padres sabían que era un apasionado por los videojuegos, claro iba a la escuela, hacia deporte entre otras actividades como un adolecente normal, sin embargo, jugar videojuegos eran algo que me ha caracterizado desde mi infancia, por esa razón me siento como pez en el agua en Hive Gaming. Mis padres sabían que esa consola me iba a hacer feliz y que la disfrutaría, decidieron hacer un gran esfuerzo y ahorrar para comprarla.
¡Te Compraré la Xbox 360!
Cuando mi madre me mencionó la posibilidad de ahorrar para comprar la Xbox 360 lo sentí como una broma, pero me di cuenta que hablaba en serio, imagino que otro adolecente hubiera dado saltos por toda la casa a causa de la felicidad, sin embargo, recuerdo que le respondí a mi madre que la consola era muy costosa, tal vez lo mejor era no comprarla debido a que se podía utilizar el dinero para otras cosas, ya no eran otros tiempos en los cuales la economía marchaba perfectamente.
En retrospectiva siento que fui muy maduro al decirle a mi madre que no me la comprara, obviamente en el fondo si quería la consola, sin embargo, sabia el esfuerzo que ameritaba comprarla. Mi madre se decidió a ahorrar para comprarla, por supuesto el dinero que me daban se reducía y yo tenía que gastar menos, pero no me importó en lo absoluto.
Recuerdo cuando fuimos a comprar la Xbox 360, siempre recordaremos esos momentos en que tuvimos nuestras consolas, en mi caso esta consola fue la última que me compraron mis padres, ya luego pude trabajar y ser independiente, sin embargo, es una consola especial para mí. Al llegar a casa creo que jugué toda la noche, simplemente me encantaba. Soy una persona que en muchas ocasiones no le gusta jugar solo así que invité a mis primos a jugar y la verdad nos divertimos bastante.
Al contarle a mi madre sobre este post y si recordaba ese día cuando fuimos a comprar la consola me dijo que recordaba todo, que incluso había visto entre algunos viejos papeles la factura de la consola, la buscó hasta mas no poder pero no fue posible conseguirla y mostrarla en Hive.
Las Luces de la Muerte
Esta consola me regalo muchos momentos de diversión, sin embargo, ya algunos años después aparecieron esas 3 luces rojas en la consola, los que tuvimos la Xbox 360 sabemos lo que significa, simplemente presenta averías importante en el hardware. Recuerdo que intentaba prenderla y solo duraba unos minutos antes de que aparecieran esas luces e inmediatamente se apagara la consola. Una lástima debido a que realmente me encantaba jugar en esta consola y la verdad en el momento en que se dañó esta consola no tenía otra opción que conformarme con mi computadora para jugar.
La verdad que este tipo de problema era común en el Xbox 360, en muchas ocasiones escuchábamos usuarios quejarse de este aspecto en las consolas de Microsoft, sin embargo, ya no quería pedirle dinero a mis padres y continúe mi camino sin una consola hasta que pude comprar una con mi sueldo pero eso es tema para otra ocasión.
Actualidad
La gran colección de consolas descansan en el cuarto de mi hermano menor @mclarenf11, su habitación parece un museo con todas las consolas que en algún momento tuvimos, allí está mi Xbox 360.
Gracias a hive mi hermano ha estado invirtiendo en arreglar esas consolas, ha hecho un muy buen trabajo hasta ahora reviviendo las viejas consolas, en lo posible no jugar en los emuladores sino en las consolas originales nos parece mejor. Todavía no ha sido el turno de la Xbox 360 para repararla pero esperamos revivirla algún día.

This time I want to share with all of you the story of how I got my Xbox 360, a console dreamed by any gamer some years ago.
Some time ago I wrote about how I got to have my first Microsoft console (Xbox) in that post that I will leave the link below I describe how I had to decide between Xbox and Nintendo GameCube console, although I had practically at hand the GameCube I waited a little so that my parents could buy me the Xbox. Those were years in which a great competition began between the big companies for the best and most updated console, in my case I loved my Xbox, however, when the Xbox 360 was launched it obviously caught my attention. It seemed to me a quite remarkable difference between the graphic quality in the video games of both consoles.
A Very Expensive Console
It is evident that gamers always want to play the most updated videogames, the ones with the best technology and that give us new experiences when playing, this also happens with consoles, we yearn to own the ones that just come out of the oven of the big companies. Perhaps when we are children or teenagers this feeling is multiplied, however, when we are very young and we demand our parents to buy us those new technological wonders, reality can give a strong blow, when we are children many times we do not understand the value of money or the effort that people make to please us, when we are teenagers maybe we have a better perception but somehow or another we are still immature and want to have the best in a very short time, especially without effort.
It is no secret that in Latin American countries in most cases we have to make a great economic effort to acquire those consoles just out of the oven. I am from Venezuela and many of us know that repeated story of economic decline, for the launch of the Xbox 360 there was not such an accentuated crisis, however, it was beginning to be noticed that it was becoming increasingly difficult to acquire certain technological products in terms of price.
On one of my birthdays my parents gave me the N64 and the PlayStation, for the time they were the consoles just out of the oven, however, in the case of the Xbox 360 I remember that I was no longer a child and I knew what it cost, especially I knew what my parents had to work to buy it, times had changed and I had to be mature and face that reality.
At times I gave up, I was not old enough to work, I was still totally dependent on my parents and it seemed to me that the purchase of that console was a distant dream. I remember that I told my parents about it and their reaction was what I had not expected, they looked at the image but more focused on the price, just by looking at it I felt that I was not going to have that new console, but at the same time I put myself in my parents' shoes and I could understand them.
First Xbox Damaged
My Xbox was damaged the CD player and other components, I could only play the video games installed on the hard drive which were very few, I definitely wanted another console, however, life went on. I remember spending some moments of the day reviewing the technical specifications of the Xbox 360, in addition, I watched videos and reviewed content of those video games that were being released for that new console.
I was excited to think that at some point I could have that console, I even saw beyond, I hoped at some point to work and be able to buy consoles and video games with my own money, of course, in a responsible way and taking care of my personal finances. Something that I achieved some time later, however, at that time I only wanted to play with the Xbox 360.
My parents knew that I was passionate about video games, of course I went to school, played sports and other activities like a normal teenager, however, playing video games was something that has characterized me since my childhood, for that reason I feel like a fish in water in Hive Gaming. My parents knew that this console was going to make me happy and that I would enjoy it, they decided to make a big effort and save up to buy it.
I'll buy you the Xbox 360!
When my mother mentioned to me the possibility of saving to buy the Xbox 360 I felt it as a joke, but I realized that she was serious, I imagine that another teenager would have jumped all over the house because of happiness, however, I remember that I answered my mother that the console was very expensive, maybe it was better not to buy it because the money could be used for other things, they were not other times in which the economy was going perfectly.
In retrospect I feel that I was very mature when I told my mother not to buy it, obviously deep down I did want the console, however, I knew the effort it would take to buy it. My mother decided to save to buy it, of course the money they gave me was reduced and I had to spend less, but I did not mind at all.
I remember when we went to buy the Xbox 360, we will always remember those moments when we had our consoles, in my case this console was the last one my parents bought me, later I was able to work and be independent, however, it is a special console for me. When I got home I think I played all night, I just loved it. I am a person that in many occasions does not like to play alone so I invited my cousins to play and the truth is that we had a lot of fun.
When I told my mother about this post and if she remembered that day when we went to buy the console she told me that she remembered everything, she had even seen among some old papers the invoice of the console, she looked for it until she could not find it but it was not possible to get it and show it in Hive.
The Lights of Death
This console gave me many moments of fun, however, some years later appeared those 3 red lights on the console, those who had the Xbox 360 know what it means, it simply presents important hardware failures. I remember trying to turn it on and it would only last a few minutes before those lights would appear and the console would immediately shut down. A pity because I really loved playing games on this console and the truth at the time this console was damaged I had no choice but to settle for my computer to play games.
The truth is that this kind of problem was common in the Xbox 360, in many occasions we heard users complaining about this aspect in Microsoft consoles, however, I didn't want to ask my parents for money and I continued my way without a console until I could buy one with my salary but that's a topic for another time.
Current
The large collection of consoles rest in my younger brother @mclarenf11's room, his room looks like a museum with all the consoles we once owned, there is my Xbox 360.
Thanks to hive my brother has been investing in fixing those consoles, he has done a very good job so far reviving the old consoles, as much as possible not playing on emulators but on the original consoles seems better to us. It hasn't been the Xbox 360's turn to repair yet but we hope to revive it someday.
