I started a new game of BG3 a couple of days ago and I'm happily immersed in it. 'Happily' - because the past couple of weeks I've really been struggling to fall into something and let it take me over, preferring to sit and stare at a blank wall listlessly and do nothing instead.
Rivetting, right?
But Baldur's Gate 3 has pulled me out of that funk, and huzzah!

In my last post, I spoke about dual-classing my Drow lady into a Tempest Cleric / Storm Sorcerer and have been enjoying her zappiness.
I've also got a mod that adds more class loot variety to the game, so it's been fun to see all the extra gear and try to work out interesting combinations to pair nicely with my spells.

I completed the main objective of Act 1 which was to deal with the Grove/Goblin situation. Saved the Grove, of course, and celebrated a night of drink and dance at the celebration party.

Next we headed for the Gith creche for Lae'zel. And killed them all! Muahahaha. Well, not all of them. I fast-travelled out of there as soon as I could, and if I need more XP before entering Act 2... well, I know where there are some enemies to use.

I tried to get some nice screenshots in the small pocket of the astral plane we got to visit, but despite being such a pretty place it was pretty difficult to angle the camera right.
Took the opportunity to position my people amusingly though. xD

I also took a moment, during battle, to really look at the mindflayer abilities with the photomode camera.
I thought it looked pretty cool!
Then it was off to the Underdark. Where I proceeded to take far too many pretty photos of the sussur tree.

It's such a pretty spot β worthy of prolonged admiration.

I've been playing on Tactician difficulty, which has definitely made me more aware of enemies and my environment. Even still, I've reached a point with my main party where we can annihilate most things with ease.
I say that having just defeated True Soul Nere and his band of duergar, first attempt, and am now heading for the great forge that I remember having difficulty with on normal difficulty back when. xD The forge fight where I've read many an Honour Mode story of deliberately cheesing it with an enlarged druid-bear falling from up on high atop the enemy to insta-kill it so they don't have to deal with it.

Turns out there's another way of easily defeating it. And this I wouldn't call a 'cheese' but rather a proper strategy.
Cleric to Command it to Halt, whomever by the lava flow wheel, and two bludgeoning damage dealers on either side of the construct. It doesn't move because it's been commanded to Halt, it's superheated by all the lava, and it's weak to bludgeon damage so it gets pulverised.
All without luring it/guiding it to go beneath the forge hammer and smashing it, and dealing with its quakes, and facing the fiery winged beasts it calls.

And now the darkness of the Shadow-Cursed Lands awaits.
At the end of this zone awaits Moonrise Tower, and that's where I stopped playing the last time I made it here. That's where I had bugs and glitches galore assail me. Framerate issues. Voice syncing issues so bad that while Mizora was talking, it was Wyll's mouth moving.
I like to think that over the past couple of years, and with this being ~the final update~, all of that is over and I can progress through to Baldur's Gate at last. xD

I'll be back! With more screenshots and babbles. π
Until next time! βοΈβ¨
