Welcome to the Shadowcursed Lands. Expect many dark and foreboding screenshots as I share my progress through the curse and head towards Baldur's Gate at last.
Here; witness the many screenshots!

And now, to break up the many screenshots with a touch of babble.
So, if you haven't followed my previous posts: back in the day when Baldur's Gate 3 first released out of early access into it's form as a full-fledged game, I made it to Act 2 and then suffered numerous glitches and bugs and framerate issues, et cetera, and I decided to stop playing until ~the final patch~ was finally released.
Turns out I had another bug that I didn't know about during that first semi-playthrough, as this time Raphael and Astarion actually spoke to one another and had the chance to make a deal to kill a devil, thus learn more about Astarion's scars.

During this trek through the Shadowcursed Lands, I also discovered a most fantastic spell.
Wall of Fire.
I didn't have this spell last time, and now I'm never going to play without it. FIRE FOR EVERYONE!!!
It certainly made the fight where you protect Halsin's portal a lot easier, and then I used it again in the Myrkul fight that comes later. So, so good.

And I can't forget my lovely little lady finally falling into Gale's arms.
When I last played, I was a wood elf ranger who wanted to love Gale for the man he is... now I'm a drow sorcerer who wants to ascend him to Godhood and become a Goddess at his side.
The magical sexy scene is definitely a lot more involved than the boring fade-to-black jump-on-a-conjured-bed scene.

I was also happy to see, in the mindflayer colony beneath Moonrise Towers, 'Us' - my little brain friend from the ship at the beginning.
I thought it had died as I zoomed to the transponder, hit by the devil fighting the mindflayer, but it wasn't to be. Us lives and is now a part of my party!

If there's one thing I find incredibly cheesy though, it's the Three in the screenshot above.
I snirked when I first saw it and I snirked again this time, too. BY YOUR POWERS COMBINED! I AM CAPTAIN PLANET!
That's literally all I can think of as they're posturing before the mindflayer brain they control. I can't take the scene seriously.

What I can take seriously though, is how long it took to defeat this blasted boss.
I read people's discussions on Reddit on how best to fight it in Tactician and Honour playthroughs, and so many people were like, "Heh, this fight is laughably easy."
Even following their tricks and tips - Darkness upon the boss, Wall of Flame upon the minions, it took multiple attempts before I managed to defeat it - just - with 2 party members standing with 2 HP each.
I am definitely not ready for Honour Mode. π

And with that, I am at last off to the city of Baldur's Gate. π

I'll be back! With more screenshots and babbles. π
Until next time! βοΈβ¨
