World of Warcraft Dragonflight has been officially released for two days now. There are people already seeking people to do Mythic dungeons, and I'm just level 66 and exploring and taking in this new expansion nice and slowly.
I haven't really bothered reading reviews or checking out other people's opinions of this expansion just yet, to see how other people are feeling... but me, personally... I haven't felt this entranced with a new World of Warcraft expansion since I first started playing back in 2010.

I'm finding myself actually paying attention to a few quests, enjoying the simple peace of patting a sleeping baby dragon then squeeing as little lovehearts show up above its head, rushing off to the next baby dragon only to be bitten as it reacts in shock and flies away.
The environment is a dream to explore and I'm loving it.

I'm also loving the indepthness that professions seem to have at this very early stage. That opinion could change later as I get deeper into it, but from a first impressions point-of-view I'm really enjoying what they've done with the professions.
With mining, for example, as you roam around the land and find mining nodes... you soon realise that there are a lot of different mining nodes of the same ore-type. Some nodes have a special ore that allows you more knowledge for your gathering, allowing you to spec into a mining-related talent-wheel and get better and better at the skill.

There are rock walls you can break with your pickaxe and trundle off inside to find ore, lost satchels, or even greedy little dwarf NPCs stealing the nodes and not allowing you to grab them. xD

There are fiery nodes that set you ablaze the moment you finish extracting their resources so you have to quickly eat as fast as you can to keep up with the 20 second debuff you now have. xD
I'm just finding it really interesting!

The Dragonriding Races!! I'm loving these things so much. I zoomed around the entire first zone and did every single dragonriding race in the area until I had completed every single one of them in a Gold record time!
Got a bunch of achievements for doing so. xD
Apparently it's not recommended you try for gold until after you fill out your dragonriding talent tree. But I don't care. I pushed my dragon and got the first zone done! I'm looking forward to completing the races in every. single. zone. And then doing all the Advanced, harder ones. π

I've never been a Warcraft Lore person and I've never really cared about the story.
Well, I've always felt invested in Thrall's story. In Shadowlands I waited and waited for he and his mother to acknowledge one another and it took friggen forever. And I might have sniffled at a part in my Night Fae Covenant story involving a dragon lady. But overall? I know nothing and don't really feel the need to learn anything.
Anyway. There's this part with Wrathion and ~another black dragon~ and I was genuinely interested. I'm looking forward to seeing how this plays out!!

I also tried out the first dungeon of the game ~ The Ruby Life Pools ~ and it seemed like an interesting dungeon that should have some interesting mechanics in Mythic+ difficulty.
My partner and friends probably won't play for very long if the dungeons are awful, and while in the past I could play this game completely alone and be happy about it, I need social in this game now. So I'm hoping that all the dungeons are fantastic and interesting and will keep us trying to progress each night.
Shadowlands dungeons? I liked a couple of them. I disliked a lot of them. And I hated ALL of them on my Holy Priest. I hated healing so much in that expansion. While I main a Fury Warrior, I enjoy my Holy Priest too and I really hope that these dungeons are fun to heal in.

Aesthetically pleasing screenshot dumping time!!!!!!

I actually managed to get some daytime screenshots this time around. (The in-game sun sets at around midday my time and arrrghhhhhh, it's not night time yet!!!! Blizzard, fix realm cycles!)

I just googled to see if other people were whining about this. And there are. And apparently I can buy a 2-hour duration toy from the Caverns of Time that will allow me to perceive the world as though it were day. I NEED TO BUY IT.

I mean, buying that toy doesn't fix the overall issue though that Blizzard should just give each realm their own day/night cycles linked to realm-time. But it'll be nice to give myself some dang daylight when I'm usually stuck with night.

The last four screenshots are from the second zone of the new expansion and I think that it's just as pretty as the first. The environment designers have done such a fantastic job with these first two zones and I'm looking forward to seeing what the next ones look like! π

And last but not least, I hope you enjoy as much as I did this Lion King reference. xD I killed the first mob then realised, HANG ON A SECOND.
My favourite cartoon movie back in the 90s. π
