In my last post The Doomed One left the starter system, joined forces with a peacekeeping bounty hunter and landed on a desert planet to explore before partaking in her first bounty. On that planet she discovered a compound of Big Ape worshippers who gave her quite a few quests to rescue various people and kill an evil-doer who lurked within the midst of a sewer.
She had just discovered that sewer and was making her descent. π¬
It is time to see how she fares and if this will be the end of her journey or not!

I slowly descend deeper into the sewer. Taking expert care by placing dirt over toxic pools for safety and utilising my wooden platforms for a safe journey into these horrid depths.

Surrounded by some slimes, poop and a muck monster, I find one of the people I'm here to save.
To my chagrin, I discover that she belongs to an escort quest. I need to go and take her home, then come back, and continue questing in the sewers. Ughhh. I wish I could tell her to stay there, stay safe, and I'll be back for her in a few minutes. But no. She keeps following me. Teleporting to me when I try to block her in somewhere.
There is no choice. I have to take her home.

Unfortunately, it turns out that creatures attack the person I'm escorting!
Desperate to save my Big Ape friend, I valiantly attack all the beasties and defend her from the doom that they wished to deliver.

Until a raging bull-like creature charged over and disintegrated her in one hit.
Distracted by the popup window, telling me that my friend had died, I didn't realise the beast was still alive. I thought I had killed it at the same time as she died.

I was wrong.
It had run up the cliff then turned back around to charge me.
I couldn't heal myself in time.
The Doomed One had died.
But at least she had died a hero, trying to rescue a Big Ape worshipper and bring her home to safety.

The Doomed One, a person doomed from the very start, had met her demise.
But that's okay! I had so much fun in this little tiny adventure, that I'm going to start a new game! π Not hardcore this time, just a normal survival game. It's so good to finally be able to play this with no stuttering or frame drops or anything.
Who'da thought that the solution was to change to the 32-bit client instead of using the normal 64-bit client? Such an easy fix.
Looking forward to sharing my new adventure with you all once I start it up! π

Until next time! π
