Uno de los géneros de videojuegos que menos suelo jugar por el simple hecho de no ser tan habilidoso para los mismos es el género de seguir el ritmo musical, aquellos en donde tienes que escuchar el ritmo de la música de fondo y hacer acciones o presionar botones al mismo ritmo de la música se me suele complicar bastante y aunque la mayoría de estos títulos suele tener una guía de ritmo es complicado enfocar tu atención a la guía en lugar de la aventura. Crypt of the NecroDancer se trata precisamente de un título de seguir el ritmo de la música y que además resulta ser una combinación entre ritmo musical y una aventura Rogelike de mazmorras que me recuerda bastante a títulos como Enter The Gungeon al tratarse de un estilo de múltiples partidas en donde con cada una podemos desbloquear objetos para que las próximas partidas sean más fáciles, esta aventura se trata de un título Indie y con todos sus elementos nos muestra una vez más como un título Indie puede resultar muy entretenido.
Un aspecto que si podría llegar a criticarse y que parece recurrente en varios títulos Rogelike es como al principio no existe prácticamente nada de contexto o historia de tu personaje y simplemente comienzas la aventura sin mayores explicaciones mientras que vas aprendiendo sobre la misma a medida que vas jugando partidas, en este caso nuestra protagonista es una chica que cavando en una especie de cementerio termina cayendo a una mazmorra y debemos eliminar a los enemigos, el estilo visual de este título es bastante sencillo y clásico al tener un enfoque retro y algo similar a los títulos de 8 y 16 Bits aunque puede llegar a tener algunos Sprites y diseños con un buen nivel de detalle además de usar colores bastante intensos y brillantes que contrasta con el fondo de los niveles bastante oscuros.
Los controles son bastante sencillos y esto se debe a que todo nuestro movimiento será básicamente con las flechas de dirección, nuestro personaje cuenta con ataque automático así que solo es necesario moverse hacia un enemigo y si el mismo se encuentra en el rango de ataque automáticamente se le causa daño, la movilidad es por turnos de manera que si no movemos a nuestra protagonista la gran mayoría de los enemigos tampoco se moverán pero si existen algunos enemigos muy especiales que se pueden mover sin que nosotros lo hagamos, algo llamativo es que podemos tener varios objetos utilizables y para usarlos se necesita hacer una combinación de dos flechas de dirección para de esta manera evitar usarlos por accidente al movernos.
La mecánica de seguir el ritmo musical tiene un enfoque interesante en este título, en la parte inferior de la pantalla tendremos un corazón junto con líneas verticales que van acercándose al mismo al ritmo de la música y cuando las dos líneas estén sobre el corazón deberemos presionar una flecha de dirección para movernos, esta mecánica no parece tener un efecto en el combate o al menos eso creo y su verdadera utilidad será cuando eliminas algún enemigo y en el suelo aparecen baldosas de colores brillantes que se alternan con los movimientos, si mantienes el ritmo de movimiento cuando este activo este efecto y eliminas enemigos obtendrás una bonificación en la cantidad de monedas que sueltan los enemigos al morir pero si fallas el ritmo o si dejar de moverte se pierde la bonificación y se debe comenzar otra vez al eliminar algún enemigo, por suerte el no seguir el ritmo de manera correcta no tienen una penalización en la salud o limita tu movimiento.
En la mazmorra podemos obtener dos recursos económicos como lo son las monedas de oro al eliminar enemigos o en sacos de oro escondidos y también podemos encontrar diamantes, pero en una cantidad mucho menor a las monedas. Las monedas de oro nos sirven para fortalecer a nuestro personaje en esa partida al poder comprar objetos en tiendas que pueden aparecer en cada nivel, existe una gran variedad de objetos como pueden ser diferentes tipos de armas, armadura, cascos con diferentes efectos como mostrar a los enemigos o más, el mapa del nivel, antorchas para aumentar nuestro rango visual, objetos para recuperar salud y también una variedad de objetos consumibles como bombas.
Algo interesante es que este título no es Rogelike muy lineal en los niveles y esto se debe a que nuestro personaje tiene una pala que nos permite cavar los bloques de tierra suave y así poder hacer caminos o incluso atravesar paredes para hacer atajos, podemos encontrar habitaciones con tesoros secretos cavando y con algunos objetos podemos aumentar nuestra fuerza de cavar para romper bloques con piedras que no se pueden de normal o cavar varios al mismo tiempo, el único bloque que no se puede romper es uno gris que sirve para delimitar el mapa. Al igual que en varios títulos de este estilo a medida que vamos jugando las primeras partidas podemos encontrar a NPC atrapados en la mazmorra y si los liberamos aparecerán en la base principal para ofrecernos objetos a la venta o servirnos con alguna otra utilidad, del mismo modo como hay varios NPC también hay una gran cantidad de diferentes personajes jugables y cada uno tiene diferentes efectos o beneficios en la aventura así como también tener varias Skin para cada personaje e incluso ser compatible con Mods para Skins, es realmente interesante la variedad entre los personaje como puede ser el caso de La Muerte quien al matar enemigos aparece un pequeño fantasma cerca de ella y cuando estas siguiendo el ritmo de la música estas almas pueden atacar a gran distancia facilitándote mucho eliminar a los enemigos, también tenemos un personaje que no tiene que seguir el ritmo de la música y las bonificaciones se aplican siempre y cuando no trates de hacer una acción imposible como romper una piedra que no puedes, también tiene sus desventajas pero incluso si no eres bueno siguiendo el ritmo tienes opciones para jugar.
