Multiple endings in video games have been an important part of history and for many years we have had titles that present us with more than one ending to the adventure depending on our decisions and the way we have chosen to play, many video games had multiple endings since its initial release and others added different endings with the use of DLC but in the end it all depended on our decisions, although the list of titles with these qualities can be very extensive, there have been few video games with multiple endings that I have played and personally there have been even fewer occasions in which I have tried to get several endings of a video game, normally I enjoy the video game without worrying about looking for a specific ending and once I finish it that was the ending with which I am satisfied, despite this some times I have sought to get a special ending and I have always tried to get the "good" or peaceful endings as was the case of Disnohored. One of the endings that I liked the most and that made me feel some satisfaction for several reasons was the ending of Bioshock I.

Bioshock is easily one of my favorite sagas of video games and one of which I have enjoyed playing the most, a very interesting curiosity of this saga with me is that I completed it in the opposite way to how the video games came out, I first finished Infinite and the last of all was the first title so I already had some information and intrigue with the story based on what happened in the second title, at the time of starting Bioshock I had already heard that besides being a great title had a couple of endings, the Good one where at the end the Little Sister had a "Happy" ending and the Bad ending. Although I didn't want to do much research about these endings so as not to ruin the ending for me, I did assume that the way to get one ending or the other was quite simple and it was simply by not "harvesting" any Little Sister. In this title, after a few fights we could choose between saving the Little Sister who was with a Big Daddy or eliminating her to harvest her ADAM. From the first moment I decided to get the good ending and every time I met a Little Sister I rescued her instead of harvesting, although I was always told that the bad ending was more beneficial for the adventure because of the amount of additional ADAM.

When rescuing a Little Sister you got an amount of ADAM that was used to buy upgrades or plasmids and it was supposed that by harvesting them you would get a much larger amount but I never made that decision, although at first you could feel that the game did not reward you for being a good person, after rescuing a certain number of Little Sisters the little ones would leave you a thank you basket with bottles of ADAM, EVE and more items that were useful to continue with the adventure so in the end I always had the doubt of knowing which route would be the most beneficial in terms of character upgrades at the end of the adventure once you added everything up. Despite this doubt I never had the interest to make a new game to get the Evil ending, even if I played it again to be a title that I loved so much I would get the same ending, not harvesting them added some difficulty to start the adventure.

Although in some titles when you take a route or you are on the way to get a specific ending the game itself changes based on these decisions either in number of enemies, difficulty or simply visual elements. In Bioshock I don't think there was any considerable change in the adventure and final combat beyond the ending cinematic once you defeated the last boss. At the moment of defeating Atlas or Fontaine where at the end are the Little Sister who help us to achieve victory is at that moment where the cinematic changes based on the end that you have achieved. In the end Well our protagonist decides to help all the Little Sisters and allows them to escape from the submerged city of Rapture so they can leave behind all their traumatic past collecting ADAM and end up having a normal life.

Despite not having a big difference in the ending beyond the cinematic, it was an ending that I found very interesting and I quite liked having obtained this ending, at the beginning if it can result in a slight disadvantage in the adventure trying to go for the Good ending, but after a certain point having achieved certain improvements and skills it was almost unnecessary the additional ADAM that would have been obtained by doing the Bad ending. Among all the possible video game endings with several endings this has been one of the ones I remember the most and after having completed Bioshock II first and knowing more about the history of all the inhabitants of Rapture it was great to have an ending a little happier for those who went through so many horrors in the submerged city.

Los múltiples finales en los videojuegos han sido parte importante en la historia y desde hace muchos años hemos tenido títulos que nos presentan más de un final a la aventura dependiendo de nuestras decisiones y de la forma en que hayamos escogido jugar, muchos videojuegos contaban con múltiples finales desde su lanzamiento inicial y otros agregaban finales diferentes con el uso de DLC pero al final todo dependía de nuestras decisiones, a pesar de que puede ser muy extensa la lista de títulos con estas cualidades, han sido pocos los videojuegos de múltiples finales que he jugado y personalmente han sido aún menos las ocasiones en que he intentado obtener varios finales de algún videojuego, normalmente disfruto el videojuego sin preocuparme en buscar algún final en específico y una vez lo termino ese fue el final con el que me conformo, a pesar de esto algunas ocasiones he buscado conseguir algún final en especial y siempre he intentado conseguir los finales “buenos” o pacíficos como fue el caso de Disnohored. Unos de los finales que más me gusto y cierta satisfacción me hizo sentir por varias razones fue el final de Bioshock I.

Bioshock es fácilmente una de mis sagas favoritas de videojuegos y una de las cuales mas he disfrutado jugando, una curiosidad bastante interesante de esta saga conmigo es que la complete de manera contraria a como salieron los videojuegos, primero termine Infinite y el ultimo de todos fue el primer título por lo cual ya tenía cierta información e intriga con la historia en base a lo que acontecía en el segundo título, al momento de comenzar Bioshock I ya había escuchado que además de ser un gran título tenía un par de finales, el Bueno donde al final las Little Sister tenían un final “Feliz” y el final Malo. Aunque no quise investigar mucho al respecto sobre estos finales para no arruinarme el final si supuse que la forma de conseguir un final u otro era bastante sencillo y era simplemente no “cosechando” a ninguna Little Sister. En este titulo luego de algunos combates podíamos escoger entre salvar a la Little Sister que estaba con un Big Daddy o por el contrario eliminarla para cosechar su ADAM. Desde el primer instante decidí obtener el final bueno y en cada ocasión que me encontraba con alguna Little Sister la rescataba en lugar de Cosechar, aunque siempre me decían que era más beneficioso para la aventura el final malo por la cantidad de ADAM adicional.

Al rescatar a una Little Sister obtenías una cantidad de ADAM que su utilizaba para comprar mejoras o plásmidos y se suponía que cosechándolas obtenías una cantidad mucho mayor pero nunca tome esa decisión, aunque en un principio podías sentir que el juego no te premiaba por estar siendo una buena persona, luego de rescatar cierto número de Little Sister las pequeñas te dejaban una canasta de agradecimiento con botellas de ADAM, EVE y más objetos que te servían para proseguir con la aventura de manera que al final siempre tuve la duda de saber que ruta sería la más beneficiosa en términos de mejoras de personaje al final de la aventura una vez sumabas todo. A pesar de esta duda nunca tuve el interés de hacer una nueva partida para conseguir el final Malo, incluso si lo volviera a jugar al ser un título que me encanto tanto volvería a conseguir el mismo final, el no cosecharlas le agregaba cierta dificultad al iniciar la aventura.

Aunque en algunos títulos cuando tomas una ruta o estas encaminado a conseguir un final en específico el propio juego va cambiando en base a estas decisiones ya sea en cantidad de enemigos, dificultad o simplemente elementos visuales. En Bioshock creo que no había ningún cambio considerable en la aventura y combate final más allá de la cinemática del final una vez vencías al último jefe. Al momento de derrotar a Atlas o Fontaine en donde al final son las Little Sister quienes nos ayudan a conseguir la victoria es en ese momento donde cambia la cinemática en base al final que hayas conseguido. En el final Bueno nuestro protagonista decide ayudar a todas las Little Sister y les permite escapar de la ciudad sumergida de Rapture para que pueden dejar atrás todo su traumático pasado recolectando ADAM y terminen de tener una vida normal.

A pesar de no tener una gran diferencia en el final más allá de la cinemática fue un final que me pareció muy interesante y me gusto bastante haber obtenido este final, al principio si puede resultar en una leve desventaja en la aventura intentar ir por el final Bueno, pero ya luego de cierto punto al haber conseguido ciertas mejoras y habilidades ya era casi innecesario el ADAM adicional que hubiera obtenido por hacer el final Malo. Entre todos los posibles finales de videojuegos con varios finales este ha sido uno de los que más recuerdo y luego de haber completado primero Bioshock II y conocer más a fondo la historia de todos los habitantes de Rapture fue genial poder tener un final un poco más Alegre para quienes pasaron tantos horrores en la ciudad sumergida.
