Hello Hiveros lovers of videogames... Welcome everyone to my fourth installment of the "Retro Gaming Blogging Challenge". This day I'm going to share with you "My TOP 3" of what for me were the best retro video games of my childhood... And without further ado, make yourselves comfortable and let's get started.

I'll start this "Top3" by talking about "Adventure Island"... This game is one of the most famous games ever released for the 8-bit Nintendo. A classic platformer that sold more than 1 million cartridges in Japan. It is important to mention that after this great achievement, the game would be presented in the United States.

As usual for a platform game, we find the typical story of rescuing a damsel in distress. In this case our protagonist, "Master Higgins", has to travel to "Adventure Island" to rescue his girlfriend "Tina" from the clutches of the "Evil Witch Doctor". On the island you will not only confront animals, abysses and traps, but also hunger, since you will have to feed yourself well to be able to stay on your feet.
"Adventure Island" has a particular feature which is based on the large number of objects and hidden areas it has. This title consists of 8 worlds that are divided into four zones.... In all these worlds we will find an important variety of well-defined colors for its time, although I can say that the worlds do not change much between them, only that as we go forward we will find different enemies and a greater difficulty.
As I mentioned a moment ago, the game's graphics share a great variety of colors, both in the vegetation and in the objects and enemies that we will find in each of the levels, all of them are very cartoonish and easy to differentiate, each world with its zones are well defined and although they do not change much between them, it does not give the perception of something repetitive.
On the other hand the soundtrack of this title is another strong point that represents it, the melodies that accompany each level are well worked and are easily molded in terms of the worlds and their areas.

Now to continue with this "TOP 3", I bring you a title quite unique in its genre, the title of which I will talk about next is "Contra Force". Previously in my blog I talked about the first installment of this saga, which seems to me another great installment of this genre.

"Contra Force" is the third title of the Contra saga that I mentioned before, it was developed by Konami and later released for Nintendo in the United States in 1992. A great game of the genre "Run and Gun" very unique in its style.
What I can say about its story, is that it takes place in the year 1992 in a place called "Neo City". The leader of the anti-terrorist group "Blue Group" receives a phone call from a "Fox", which tells him that the head of the intelligence team is in danger. When the Blue Group arrives at the port to search for Fox, they find that he has been killed and are then attacked by an unknown armed group. "Burns, Beans, Iron and Smith must eliminate the terrorists and find the Chief of Intelligence.
This title consists of 5 levels, in which you can use the 4 commandos at the time we want, it is important to mention that for this saga, all the new aspects that were added in this title was very innovative, because you can choose a partner and assign a strategy, which will serve to support you momentarily as you progress through the game.
Graphically this game is well defined, the colors implemented in the environment that handles its levels are quite well for its time, the improvement to its previous deliveries is quite remarkable, the details that correspond in terms of the main characters, enemies, weapons and objects, are easy to detail.
Its soundtrack is not far behind, being this in my opinion the strongest point of this title, as in previous installments, where the soundtrack ends up being the most positive point of this saga. The sounds in general that brings this game go quite well with the game system.

Now to finish with this "TOP 3" I present to you what for me is undoubtedly the best NES game, "Super Mario Bros 3". This great title is simply the best NES game of all times, very few games offered as much as this one for its time, excellent graphics, catchy music, many secrets to discover, gigantic maps to explore and a long world.
This NES Giant sold 18 million copies, making it one of the best selling games in history. This title has been so successful, that even today it is still on the lists of the best games of all time, despite its 8-bit limitation.

Summarizing a little of its story, it is based on the fact that the king of the Koopa, Bowser, has sent his 7 sons to steal the scepters of the kings, turning them into animals and plants. This unique title consists of 8 worlds, each with its own map full of levels, small houses where you can get items, bonuses, castles and some enemies that roam the map.
Unlike its previous installments, this time, our friends "Mario and Luigi" will have to fight again against Bowser's troops, but this time they will have a great equipment. Now you not only have the flower that allows you to throw fire, but also a wide variety of costumes. The leaf turns you into a raccoon that can fly, the frog allows you to swim without difficulty, the hammer suit turns you into a rock in a certain way, the whole raccoon suit allows you to fly and turn into a statue.
The graphics of this great game are simply fantastic for its time, in my personal opinion they have been the best I could see for the NES.... Everything it shows us is very full of life from the first moment you play it, Throughout the game you will see scenarios of the most varied, among these we will have, green hills, aquatic levels, deserts with pyramids, islands connected by tubes, levels in the clouds, frozen scenarios, among others. The enemies are the same as always, gombas, Koopa turtles, bullets, among others that you already know, but all of them will have totally renewed designs.
Its soundtrack is perfect, the melody of each level falls like a ring to the finger... A great job in this section that undoubtedly ends up being what gives infinite life to this great title.
This has been an excellent game since it made its appearance in Japan in 1988, expanding later to the United States in 1990. Today this game is still remembered as the best of that time!
