Hello guys from #hivegaming, a few days ago I posted a recommendation about Sekiro. Today I'm here to share with you my first steps in this fascinating shinobi adventure where death is always lurking.

My entry into the world of Sekiro felt like a sharp blow to the face—direct, unexpected, and brutal.
In less than ten minutes, I had already run into enemies that don’t forgive even the slightest distraction, and a combat system that demands full awareness every second.
This isn’t a game for those looking to button-mash or breeze through on autopilot—here, every duel requires your best, or you’ll quickly become well acquainted with death.
Mi entrada al mundo de Sekiro fue como un golpe en seco al rostro, directo, sin aviso, y brutal.
En menos de diez minutos ya me habĂa topado con enemigos que no perdonan ni la más mĂnima distracciĂłn, y un sistema de combate que te exige estar despierto en cada segundo. Este no es un juego para los que buscan spam de botones ni para los que quieren avanzar en piloto automático, aquĂ en cada duelo se deja lo mejor o nos estraemos encontrando mucho con la muerte.
But before talking about the combat (which definitely deserves its own paragraph), let’s focus on something FromSoftware does like no one else: the atmosphere.
The feudal Japan portrayed in Sekiro isn’t just a beautiful backdrop. It’s a wounded, somber place, filled with ruins, fallen castles, and trees that seem to whisper ancient stories. The entire artistic design breathes a powerful melancholy—there’s no overt storytelling like in the Souls style; instead, the world itself tells the story, and I absolutely loved that.
Pero antes de hablar del combate (que merece un párrafo aparte), hablemos de algo que FromSoftware hace como nadie más: la ambientaciĂłn. El JapĂłn feudal retratado en Sekiro no es solo un escenario bonito. Es un lugar herido, sombrĂo, lleno de ruinas, castillos caĂdos y árboles que parecen susurrar historias antiguas. Todo el diseño artĂstico respira una melancolĂa poderosa, no hay una sobreexposiciĂłn narrativa al estilo Souls, es el entorno quien cuenta la historia y eso me encantĂł.
My character, a silent shinobi in service of the young master Kuro, wakes up battered and without memory. The bond with this boy is the driving force of the story—and it’s put to the test very early on.
After escaping the ruined castle where the game begins, I was given the Kusabimaru sword, and in that moment, I felt something truly special: I was finally inside this unique universe, but with a radical twist.
Here, there are no shields or stamina bars—only clashing steel and split-second decisions.
Mi personaje, un shinobi silencioso al servicio del joven maestro Kuro, despierta maltrecho y sin memoria. La relación con este niño es el motor de la historia, y muy pronto se ve puesta a prueba. Tras escapar del castillo en ruinas donde comienza el juego, me entregaron la espada Kusabimaru y en ese momento, sentà algo muy especial por fin estaba dentro de este universo tan particular , pero con una vuelta de tuerca radical. Aquà no hay escudos ni barras de stamina, sino choques de filo y decisiones al segundo.
One of my first memorable encounters was with the mini-boss Yamauchi Shigenori, an intimidating-looking samurai guarding one of the early paths. I went in nervous, but to my surprise, it wasn’t that hard—beginner’s luck? Maybe. The truth is I managed to read his movements better than I expected.
I won’t lie—I broke a sweat when I saw him draw his katana with fury, but after a few deflections and some well-placed strikes, he fell. It gave me a huge boost of confidence… but it was a false one, because what came next was a brutal reminder that Sekiro does not forgive.
Uno de mis primeros encuentros memorables fue con el mini jefe Yamauchi Shigenori, un samurái de aspecto intimidante que custodia uno de los accesos iniciales. EntrĂ© con nervios, pero para sorpresa mĂa, no me costĂł tantoÂżSuerte de principiante? Quizás, lo cierto es que logrĂ© leer sus movimientos mejor de lo que esperaba. No niego que sudĂ© un poco cuando le vi sacar su katana con rabia, pero tras algunos desvĂos y un par de golpes precisos, cayĂł y me dio confianza enorme, pero fue una falsa confianza, porque lo que vino despuĂ©s fue un brutal recordatorio de que Sekiro no perdona
The combat system in Sekiro is, without exaggeration, a masterpiece. Unlike Dark Souls, where you can roll endlessly, here dodging isn’t always the answer. You have to block, deflect, read your enemy’s rhythm, break their posture, and strike at the perfect moment to deliver the deathblow.
The first time I landed a perfect parry, I felt a rush of adrenaline. The learning curve is steep, but never unfair—if you die, it’s because you did something wrong. Period.
El sistema de combate en Sekiro es, sin exagerar, una obra maestra no es como en Dark Souls donde puedes rodar hasta el cansancio, aquĂ, esquivar no siempre es la respuesta tenemos que bloquear, desviar, medir el ritmo del enemigo, romper su postura y aprovechar el momento exacto para asestar el golpe mortal. La primera vez que logrĂ© un parry perfecto, sentĂ una descarga de adrenalina. La curva de aprendizaje es dura, pero no injusta y si morimos es porque algo hicimos mal punto.
Not long after, I reached the fight against Genichiro Ashina—one of the most shocking moments at the beginning. Not only did he crush me in battle (and I already thought I was the most pro shinobi in the world), but in the cutscene that followed, my character loses his arm. Literally. And to make things worse, the young lord gets taken away.
It felt like a sharp cut to the soul of the protagonist—and to mine as well.
Al rato lleguĂ© al enfrentamiento contra Genichiro Ashina, uno de los momentos más impactantes del inicio. No solo me aplastĂł en combate y eso que yo ya me sentĂa el shinobi más pro del mundo, sino que en la escena posterior, mi personaje pierde el brazo. Literal. Y para colmo, se llevan al joven amo. Fue como un corte seco en el alma del protagonista y tambiĂ©n en la mĂa.
The combat was frantic—I went all in, and I didn’t even last two minutes. Maybe if I had been more skilled with the controls, things would’ve gone differently. But instead, what followed was a truly shocking cutscene, one that I’ll remember for a long time.
It felt like the climax of a samurai duel straight out of a movie—epic, cinematic, and unforgettable.
El combate fue frenetico,ataque con todo y no dure ni 2 minutos, quizas si hubiese estado mas diestro controles, pero la cosa fue diferente y salto una escena super impactante que guardare en mi memoria para la historia ,la fin un duelo de samurais a la altura de cine.
For now, I can only say that Sekiro caught me by surprise, tore me apart, made me learn to fight all over again, and stole my heart — oh, and it cut off my arm to justify why my character’s one-armed, so the problem is his, not mine, haha.

Por ahora, solo puedo decir que Sekiro me agarrĂł por sorpresa, me destrozĂł, me hizo aprender a pelear de nuevo y me enamor y me corto un brazo para justificar que sea mnaco ,asi que el problema es del personaje no mio jjjj.
