Hello adventurers of #hivegaming, today we're back with another Demon's Souls adventure. I took advantage of the weekend, since I was sick, to defeat a few demons and explore some new areas. Here's the story—I hope you enjoy it!

Returning to the Tower of Latria felt like stepping back into a nightmare you had barely escaped. This time, the darkness was more oppressive, heavier, and I couldn’t be sure if the ground beneath my feet would still be there with the next step. Latria is, without a doubt, a labyrinth of madness—corridors that twist as if they were alive, platforms floating in the void, and enemies casting treacherous spells from the shadows. But the most terrifying thing is that here, you don’t just fight demons… you fight despair itself.
Volver a la Torre de Latria fue como regresar a una pesadilla de la que uno apenas había despertado. Esta vez, la oscuridad era más opresiva, más densa y no sabía si el suelo bajo mis pies seguiría ahí en el próximo paso. Latria es sin duda un laberinto de locura, pasillos que serpentean como si estuvieran vivos, plataformas que flotan en la nada, y enemigos que lanzan hechizos a traición desde cualquier rincón. Pero lo más terrorífico es que aquí no solo se lucha contra demonios, sino también contra la desesperanza.
The one advantage—if it can even be called that—is that the demons seem to mark the path, as if evil itself were guiding you forward. On one of these careful treks, I stumbled upon an NPC who seemed important. I think his name was Yorm, or something close to it. He wore a towering set of armor—the kind that makes you think twice before getting too close. I freed him from his cell, expecting gratitude or at least some kind of usefulness, but all he did was start pacing in circles, as if caught in some kind of mental loop.
La ventaja, si puede llamarse así, es que los demonios parecen marcar el rumbo, como si el propio mal te señalara el camino a seguir. En uno de estos trayectos, mientras avanzaba con extremo cuidado, me topé con un NPC que parecía importante, Su nombre creo que era Yorm o algo parecido. Vestía una armadura imponente, de esas que te hacen pensar dos veces antes de acercarte. Lo liberé de su celda, esperando gratitud o al menos alguna utilidad, pero lo único que hizo fue comenzar a dar vueltas en círculo como si estuviera atrapado en un bucle mental.
I didn't know whether to leave him there or put him out of his misery. But I chose not to act right away—I returned to the Nexus to regroup, to see if anything had changed. And oh, it had. In the place where I would normally find two familiar NPCs, I found only their souls, floating in the air like silent witnesses to a recent tragedy. That’s when it all clicked. The guy I had freed wasn’t an ally—he was an executioner. An NPC killer. A bastard in every sense of the word. I’d seen this before in Dark Souls 1—characters who pretend to be your friends, only to slaughter your companions while you’re away.
No supe si debía dejarlo ahí o acabar con su miseria. Pero decidí no actuar de inmediato, volví al Nexo a reagruparme, a ver si había cambiado algo. Y vaya que sí, en el sitio donde normalmente encontraría a dos NPCs solo hallé sus almas, flotando en el aire como testigos silenciosos de una tragedia reciente, lo entendí todo en ese momento. El tipo al que había liberado no era ningún aliado, era un ejecutor. Un asesino de NPCs, un HP con todas las letras, ya había visto y pasado antes por esto en Dark Souls 1, personajes que se hacen pasar por aliados solo para acabar con los tuyos mientras estás lejos.
So I made a decision—I couldn’t let him live, not while the Nexus was in danger. I went back to confront him, and the fight was brutal. The guy didn’t just have strength—he had technique, endurance. But after an intense battle, I finally brought him down. As a reward, I claimed his heavy armor, which I now wear with pride—as a symbol of justice… or maybe vengeance. Perhaps both.
Así que tomé una decisión, no podía dejarlo vivo, no mientras el Nexo estuviera en peligro. Volví a enfrentarlo, y la pelea fue brutal. Ese tipo no solo tenía fuerza, tenía técnica, resistencia pero tras una lucha intensa, finalmente lo derribé. Como recompensa, obtuve su pesada armadura, una que ahora llevo con orgullo y como símbolo de justicia (o de venganza, quizás ambas).
With my fellow Nexus companions safe, I decided to explore a new area: the Shrine of Storms. The moment I set foot there, blades were already flying at me from every direction. To my surprise, the boss from the tutorial was here—but this time, just a regular enemy. No gentle introductions. Demon’s Souls shows no mercy. And those skeletons from the game’s opening? They’re here. Alive, armed, and absolutely furious.
Con mis compañeros del Nexo a salvo, decidí explorar una nueva zona, el Altar de las Tormentas. Apenas puse un pie allí y ya me estaban lanzando espadazos desde todos los ángulos. Para mi sorpresa, el jefe del tutorial estaba ahí, pero como enemigo común esta vez. Nada de intros suaves. Demon’s Souls no tiene piedad. Y los esqueletos que aparecen en el opening del juego... están aquí. Vivos, armados y furiosos.
I didn’t dare venture too deep—this area deserves a more meticulous exploration. Today was just a small taste of what’s to come. What I do know is that the danger keeps escalating… but so do my skills.

No me atreví a adentrarme demasiado, esa zona se merece una exploración más meticulosa. Hoy solo fue una probadita de lo que vendrá. Lo que sí sé es que el peligro va en aumento, pero también mis habilidades.
