Today is Horror Friday, and I'm here to share with you the story mode of Dead Space 1.
In this game, we take control of Isaac Clarke, an engineer trapped aboard a deep-space mining ship where something terrifying has happened: the crew has been slaughtered and transformed into horrifying creatures. Amid the darkness and chaos, our goal is to survive while uncovering the dark secrets hidden within the USG Ishimura. Get ready for an experience filled with tension, grotesque creatures, and moments that will make you jump out of your seat.

Hoy es viernes de terror y vengo a compartir con ustedes el modo historia de Dead space 1.
En este juego, tomamos el control de Isaac Clarke, un ingeniero atrapado a bordo de una nave minera en el espacio profundo, donde algo espantoso ha sucedido: la tripulación ha sido asesinada y convertida en horribles criaturas. En medio de la oscuridad y el caos, nuestro objetivo es sobrevivir mientras desentrañamos los oscuros secretos que se esconden a bordo de la USG Ishimura. Prepárense para una experiencia llena de tensión, criaturas grotescas y momentos que os harán saltar del asiento.

I want to start by saying that space is terrifying, no matter how many times you've seen it in movies or video games. When a game manages to convey the feeling of absolute loneliness and imminent danger, you know you're in the right place for an unforgettable experience. And if there’s one game that perfectly understands the horror of the cosmic void, it’s Dead Space.
Quiero comenzar diciendo que el espacio es aterrador no importa cuántas veces lo hayas visto en películas o videojuegos y cuando un juego logra transmitirte la sensación de soledad absoluta y peligro inminente, sabes que estás en el lugar correcto para una experiencia inolvidable. Y si hay un juego que entiende perfectamente el terror en el vacío del cosmos, ese es Dead Space.
This week, my journey through the USG Ishimura took me to the chapter "Impending Doom", a section that, honestly, I thought would be just another step in my fight against the Necromorphs. But no—it was a total test of psychological endurance and reflexes.
From the very beginning, the atmosphere made it clear that something terrible was about to happen. I walked through the ship’s rusted corridors, feeling that oppressive sensation that every shadow could be hiding something… and I was right.
Esta semana, mi viaje por el USG Ishimura me llevó al capítulo Exterminio Inminente, una sección que, honestamente, pensé que sería una más en mi lucha contra los necromorfos. Pero no, fue una prueba total de resistencia psicológica y reflejos Desde el cimienzo, el ambiente me dejó claro que algo terrible estaba por suceder,caminé por los pasillos oxidados de la nave, sintiendo esa opresiva sensación de que cada sombra podía esconder algo... y así fue.
In the midst of my journey, I came across some breathtaking views of space. I stopped for a moment to capture a few images because, despite all the horror, Dead Space knows how to deliver awe-inspiring landscapes. But peace never lasts long.
En medio de mi recorrido, me topé con unas impresionantes vistas del espacio. Me detuve un momento para capturar algunas imágenes porque, dentro de todo el horror, *Dead Space"sabe cómo regalarte paisajes sobrecogedores, pero la calma nunca dura mucho.
I arrived at a room where I found the other remaining survivor on the ship. Around him, holographic maps projected information about the Ishimura, giving the place an almost futuristic yet desolate atmosphere.
Llegué a una sala donde encontré al otro superviviente que aún quedaba en la nave a su alrededor, unos mapas holográficos proyectaban información sobre la Ishimura, dándole al lugar un aire casi futurista y, al mismo tiempo, desolador.
We didn't spend much time analyzing the situation before the nightmare began: a monstrous creature emerged from the shadows. This wasn't just any Necromorph—it was a grotesque abomination, tough as hell, with a single mission: to annihilate me in the most brutal way possible.
My first instinct was to fire like crazy with the plasma cutter, my trusty dismemberment companion, but it wasn’t enough—the creature absorbed my shots as if they were mere caresses. I ran, dodged, fired again… nothing seemed to work. That’s when I found a new weapon—the plasma saw (or something similar)—and realized I had to analyze its weak points if I wanted to make it out alive.
No duramos mucho analizando la situación antes de que la pesadilla comenzara: una criatura monstruosa emergió de las sombras. No era un necromorfo cualquiera, era una aberración grotesca, resistente como el infierno y con una única misión aniquilarme de la forma más brutal posible.
Mi primer instinto fue disparar como un loco con la cortadora de plasma, mi fiel compañera de desmembramientos pero no fue suficiente, la criatura absorbía mis disparos como si fueran caricias. Corrí, esquivé, disparé de nuev nada parecía funcionar, fue entonces cuando encontré una nueva arma la sierra de plasma (o algo similar), y entendí que debía analizar sus puntos débiles si quería salir con vida.
After overcoming this beast, I found a place to upgrade my equipment using the nodes I had collected and the blueprints for my suit. And so I did—I kept increasing the damage of my dear friend, the plasma cutter, and my suit was now much more resistant. It looked like a patchwork of rusty plates stuck together, but it did its job.
Luego de superara ha esta bestia encontre un lugar para mejorar mi eqyipo con los nodos que habia obtenido y los diseños para el traje y asi fue , segui aumentando el daño de mi giel amiga la vortdora de plasma y mi traje ahora era mucho mas resistente, parecia un poco de parches oxidados pegados pero cumplia su función.

I died so many times in this chapter that I lost count—crushed, shredded, devoured, torn apart… each death more horrifying than the last. But the worst one didn’t even happen on-screen—I died of fear. There was a point where I simply couldn’t keep going: cold sweat, tense muscles, that dreadful feeling that every hallway could be my last.
Dead Space did its job and left me in check.
I didn’t manage to finish the chapter in my session, but what I do know is that when I return, I’ll come back stronger, with a better strategy, and with my suit and plasma cutter upgraded. But until then, the USG Ishimura remains the home of my worst nightmares.
Morí tantas veces en este capitulo que perdí la cuenta aplastado, triturado, devorado, desgarrado… cada muerte más espantosa que la anterior pero la peor de todas fue la que ocurrió fuera de la pantalla morí de miedo. Hubo un punto en el que simplemente no pude seguir avanzando el sudor frío, la tensión en los músculos, esa sensación de que cada pasillo podría ser el último.
Dead Space hizo lo suyo y me dejó en jaque.
No logré terminar el capítulo en mi sesión, pero lo que sí sé es que, cuando lo retome, volveré más fuerte, con una mejor estrategia y con mi traje y cortadora de plasma mejorados. Pero hasta entonces, el USG Ishimura sigue siendo el hogar de mis peores pesadillas.
