A video console with already more than 20 years of being launched to the market, that made us enormously happy, and that after already having a great experience with the PS1, flooded us with enormous expectations this PS2, at first, for the year 2000 we would know what was the original version of the PS2, with a rather striking model and a black color that fit very well, but then, in 2004, Sony would launch a Slim version of the same console, the truth is that I never knew the reason for this other version, but to tell the truth I liked it much more than the original, because it was much smaller and lighter.
This last version of PS2, the Slim was acquired, because before having a PS2 at home, I used to go to places where they rented nintendos for time, ie you went to the place, ask for a game and you put it right there, you played with your friends comfortably for the time you paid. At that time, buying a PS2 was affordable, but for some reasons we didn't have it at home yet, because it wasn't a priority.
I spent a few years enjoying the PS2 in places where they rented it, but once the Slim version came out, in 2004, we were able to acquire it, although it wasn't immediately, it was a year later. One of the things that I liked the most, was to play against my cousin, whether it was Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 or Tekken 5, we could spend from morning until night playing, it was a crazy vice that generated this console.
You could see that I mentioned several versions of PES (Pro Evolution Soccer), being this my favorite game in this console, with it, I used to make tournaments with my friends, sometimes we bet some money and started UEFA Champions League tournaments, I even remember that we met very early to get to play at least 2 tournaments, because we always took many hours in each one.
Another game that even brings back memories is Medal of Honor, a game that I came to enjoy even a couple of years ago on a Christmas day, it was just a little over 2 am and I was not at all sleepy, I saw my games and wanted to spend my boredom in the room playing this video game, I remember to have dawned playing Medal of Honor, I had even connected the sound system to the TV to make my game more epic, all this, accompanied by some nachos and soda, I remember that moment and I know it was one of the best I've spent as a gamer, I hope someday to experience a similar moment again.
I know that currently there are PS4 and PS5, versions many times more powerful than PS2, but there is a key factor in the success of this version, even above the PS3, PS4 and PS5, and that is called "Family", you think and remember the PS2 and remember having played at least once with several members of your family, even with a friend from your home, and even though the online connection existed, it seemed much better to play it with a group of friends gathered together, something that nowadays does not happen, because the connections to play are practically through the internet, in an online mode in which although we share by audio, it is not the same as doing it in person.
A PS4 and PS5 leaves you memories of video games with graphics and majestic and incomparable gameplay, but the PS2 left you that memory of family and friends that no matter how many years pass, will be indelible memories. Una videoconsola con ya más de 20 años de haber sido lanzada al mercado, que nos hacía enormemente felices, y que luego de ya haber tenido una gran experiencia con la PS1, nos inundaba con enormes expectativas esta PS2, en un principio, para el año 2000 conoceríamos lo que era la versión original de la PS2, con un modelo bastante llamativo y un color negro que le quedaba muy bien, pero luego, en 2004, Sony lanzaría al mercado una versión Slim de la misma videoconsola, la verdad es que nunca supe el motivo de esta otra versión, pero a decir verdad me gustaba mucho más que la original, pues era mucho más pequeña y liviana.
Esta última versión de PS2, la Slim fue la adquirimos, pues antes de tener una PS2 en casa, solía ir a lugares en donde alquilaban nintendos por tiempo, es decir, ibas al lugar, pedías un juego y te lo ponían ahí mismo, jugabas con tus amigos cómodamente por el tiempo que pagabas. Otro juego que incluso me trae recuerdos no muy lejanos es Medal of Honor, un juego que llegué a disfrutar incluso hace un par de años en una navidad, justo era un poco más de las 2 de la madrugada y no tenía nada de sueño, vi mis juegos y quise pasar mi aburrimiento en el cuarto jugando a este videojuego, recuerdo haber amanecido jugando Medal of Honor, incluso había conectado el equipo de sonido al TV para hacer más épico mi juego, todo esto, acompañado de unos nachos y refresco, recuerdo ese momento y sé que fue uno de los mejores que he pasado como gamer, espero algún día volver a experimentar un momento similar.
