Hello Gamers, how are you? I hope you are doing great and welcome to a new post made by me. This time I want to talk about another Game Boy video game, but I must give you some context. Since I was a kid, I liked a videogame that my cousins played, they played it for a long time and it was one of the games that I spent more hours playing on my Xbox Classic when I used its disc reader.
The game comes from a successful saga in the world of Skateboarding, its name is due to the most famous Skater in history: Tony Hawk. This character has inspired many to be just like him, with exceptional skills with a skateboard and risking their physique due to the constant danger they are exposed to because of all the accidents that can occur when practicing this discipline.
I always wanted to try to ride a skateboard and do tricks like Tony haha, the truth among the few times I've tried it didn't go well at all, once my friends got me on a skateboard, we were in a park with a lot of people, I got on and they pushed me, but once they let me go I thought the skateboard was going to flip over or that I was going to go flying, of course, I started to move like crazy and ended up losing my balance, but not before crashing into a trash can, luckily I didn't fall inside haha.
What does this have to do with today's post? Nothing except the name Tony Hawk, this video game that I will talk about next is part of the select group of games that I played in GBA emulator in Xbox Classic, this video game is called Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 a Game Boy video game that I played a lot when I was a kid, mostly I played it when I was very bored and I had nothing better to do.
One of the things I remember from this game with great affection are its graphics, being a GBA game is normal that the graphics look so pixelated, but that's what made it so ideal for me, it has a cartoon style and is attractive if it is the first time you play it, in this game the characters look like fingers with clothes hahaha, really since I was a kid I always died of laughter with the characters.
When I played I always chose a character that had some green clothing, although I don't remember if there was one, in that case, I always chose a character with dark skin to make him look like me haha. This game made me laugh when I was little, but not only because of the characters but also because of the crazy things we can do during the gameplay, I must admit that I underestimated the technical capacity of the game.
I played it again a couple of months ago, both in my Xbox Classic and in PC Emulator and with different controllers of course, in Xbox I perceived the gameplay a bit flawed, although I don't know if it's my control that starts to fail there were times when the character with the slightest movement of the stick moves, as we are in a closed environment because if we crash we can either deviate or in the worst case fall off the skateboard, this detail also gave me a lot of laughter as a child and I admit that thanks to this nonsense is that I never seriously played this game haha.
The truth is I don't remember if I ever managed to pass the first level of this Tony Hawk', to be able to pass the level you just need to break the points record of the area, these points are obtained if we do tricks on the different elements of the map, for example, jump over the rails doing an "Ollie" or a "Kickflip" near an edge, all this gives us a predetermined number of points, and the tricks I just mentioned are the most basic and perhaps the only ones I know haha.
We can also find numerous items and medals that give us more points to complete the level, and one of the things I liked to do in the first level is to jump towards the helicopter, I always lost points there haha. Once the level is completed we will unlock the next one, I don't know what happens if we complete all the levels, I'm also not if we can unlock characters, each character has its stats, but for me, they are all the same, except Tony Hawk who is the best.
Continuing with the gameplay in the Pc emulator was much better for me, the player can jump with the "X" button, do tricks with the "square" button this happens when we approach a railing or an edge, and jump when we get to the end of a ramp we can do a trick with moving the lever, as for the other buttons, we can change the character's position with the skateboard, this is very useful to cross a difficult access area of any level.
The technique is present when the character stays at the end of the ramp standing and trying to keep the balance, this trick has a term, but I do not remember what it is, the fact is that the character can do it in different positions, in turn also appears a balance bar in which you have to keep the little arrow in the middle with the lever (or with the keyboard arrows) for the player to have balance and give us the points.
I played this game a lot, mostly to get a good laugh and not so much for its gameplay or to complete the game, I hope you have understood my explanation because the truth is I know little and nothing about Skateboarding haha, anyway it is a game that I recommend because in terms of gameplay and technique meet and quite well, this game I do not think it is for children, with each fall we take away half of the points consumed.

El juego proviene de una saga exitosa en el mundo del Skateboarding, su nombre se debe al Skater más famoso de la historia: Tony Hawk. Este personaje ha inspirado a muchos a ser iguales que él, con habilidades excepcionales con una patineta y arriesgando su físico debido al constante peligro que están expuestos por todos los accidentes que se pueden producir al practicar esta disciplina.
Siempre quise intentar andar en una patineta y hacer trucos como Tony jaja, la verdad entre las pocas veces que lo he intentado no me fue para nada bien, una vez mis amigos consiguieron que me subiera a una patineta, estábamos en un parque con mucha gente, me subí y me empujaron, pero una vez que me soltaron pensé que la patineta se iba a voltear o que iba a salir volando, pues claro empecé a moverme como un loco y terminé por perder el equilibrio, no sin antes chocar contra un bote de basura, por suerte no me caí adentro jaja.
¿Qué tiene que ver esto con la publicación de hoy? Nada a excepción del nombre Tony Hawk, este videojuego que les hablaré a continuación forma parte del selecto grupo de juegos que jugué en emulador de GBA en Xbox Clásico, este videojuego se llama Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 un videojuego de la Game Boy que jugué bastante cuando era niño, más que todo lo jugaba cuando estaba muy aburrido y no tenía otra cosa mejor que hacer.
Una de las cosas que recuerdo de este videojuego con mucho cariño son sus gráficos, a ser un juego de GBA es normal que los gráficos se vean tan pixelados, pero eso es lo que lo hacía tan ideal para mí, tiene como un estilo caricaturesco y atractivo si es la primera vez que lo juegas, en este juego los personajes parecen dedos con ropa jajaja, de verdad desde pequeño siempre me moría de la risa con los personajes.
Cuando jugaba siempre me escogía a un personaje que tuviera alguna prenda de ropa de color verde, aunque no recuerdo si había uno, en dado caso siempre escogía a un personaje de piel oscura para que se me asemeje a mí jaja. Este videojuego me dio mucha risa cuando era pequeño, pero no sólo por los personajes si no también por las locuras que podemos hacer durante el Gameplay, debo admitir que subestimé la capacidad técnica del videojuego.
Lo volví a jugar hace un par de meses, tanto en mi Xbox Clásico como en Emulador de Pc y con mandos distintos por supuesto, en Xbox percibí la jugabilidad un tanto defectuosa, aunque no sé si será mi control que empieza a fallar, básicamente habían ocasiones en las cuales el personaje con el más mínimo movimiento de la palanca se mueve, como estamos en un ambiente cerrado pues si chocamos podemos o desviarnos o en el peor de los casos caernos de la patineta, este detalle también me daba mucha risa de pequeño y admito que gracias a esta tontería es que nunca jugaba enserio a este juego jaja.
La verdad no recuerdo si alguna vez logré pasar el primer nivel de este Tony Hawk’, para poder pasar de nivel solamente basta con romper el récord de puntos de la zona, estos puntos se consiguen si hacemos trucos en los diferentes elementos del mapa, por ejemplo, saltar por encima de las barandas haciendo un “Ollie” o un “Kickflip” cerca de una orilla, todo esto nos proporciona un numero predeterminado de puntos, y los trucos que acabo de mencionar son los más básicos y tal vez los únicos que conozco jaja.
También podemos encontrar numerosos ítems y medallas que nos dan más puntos para completar el nivel, y una de las cosas que más me gustaban hacer en el primer nivel es saltar hacia el helicóptero, siempre perdía puntos ahí jaja. Una vez completado el nivel desbloquearemos el siguiente, no sé que pasa si completamos todos los niveles, tampoco estoy si podemos desbloquear personajes, cada personaje tiene sus propias estadísticas, pero para mí todos son iguales, excepto Tony Hawk que es el mejor.
Siguiendo con la jugabilidad en el emulador de Pc me fue mucho mejor, el jugador puede saltar con el botón “X”, hacer trucos con el botón “cuadrado” esto ocurre cuando nos acerquemos a una baranda o a una orilla, y saltamos cuando lleguemos al final de una rampa podemos hacer un truco con mover la palanca, en cuanto a los demás botones, podemos cambiar de postura del personaje con la patineta, esto sirve mucho para atravesar una zona de difícil acceso de cualquier nivel.
La técnica se hace presente cuando el personaje se queda al final de la rampa parado y tratando de mantener el equilibrio, ese truco tiene un término, pero no recuerdo cual es, el caso es que el personaje lo puede hacer de diferentes posturas, a su vez también aparece una barrita de equilibro en la cual hay que mantener la flechita en el medio con la palanca (o con las flechas del teclado) para que el jugador tenga equilibrio y nos proporcionen los puntos.
Este videojuego lo jugué bastante, más que todo para sacarme unas buenas risas y no tanto por su jugabilidad ni por completar el juego, espero que hayan entendido mi explicación porque la verdad sé poco y nada del Skateboarding jaja, de igual forma es un juego que recomiendo porque en cuanto a jugabilidad y técnica cumplen y bastante bien, este juego la verdad que no creo que sea para niños, con cada caída nos quitan la mitad de los puntos consumidos.
