Hello, everyone. I explained "Looking around Resident Evil 2 - "Story" tap last week: now I'm going to tell Difficulty.
When you press "New Game/New Game[2nd Run]" and select characters Leon/Claire, you can see game mode selection like under the texts.
These modes are game difficulty. If you choose one, you can't change difficulty until game clear. However, if you die several times, the screen will pop up and say if you want change difficulty to "ASSISTED".
Now I'm explaining difficulties in detail. "STANDARD" is normal level. It is same that the benefits of "ASSISTED" are erased.
"ASSISTED" level is for beginners and newbies. There are three advantagements: "Aim assist", "Recover a certain of health automatically", and weaker enemies. "Aim aissist" is help character aim enemies weak points automatically. You can turn off if you don't want in option menu. Recovery a little health sounds like insurance. It is not automatic recovery: hit by enemies, your health will be recovered a little.
"HARDCORE" is for veterans. First, there is no autosave, excluding 2 checkpoints: first place and game clear. So, you have to save yourself at the saving point - typewriter. But, saving is not free: you must have ink ribbons. Lots of ink ribbons are placed near typewriter and you can get 1 ~ 3 ribbons. Enemies are stronger too. Not only their stats but also their hardened patterns. For example, zombies have advanced headshot flinched resistance and increased grabbing reach. In addition, items in Hardcore are fewer than other difficulties - some of them are replaced to ink ribbons.
Dynamic Difficulty
For tight playing, there is "Dynamic Difficulty" in Resident Evil 2. More advantageous to player, harder the game difficulty is. There are from 1 to 12 ranks: More damage and more game progressing in game, the rank will grow up. Otherwise more missing shot, more bitten by enemies, and more dying, it will go down.
Rank 0 : 180% Damage Dealt 70% Damage Taken
Rank 1 : 160% Damage Dealt 70% Damage Taken
Rank 2 : 140% Damage Dealt 80% Damage Taken
Rank 3 : 120% Damage Dealt 80% Damage Taken
