Em Splinterlands, cada tipo de ataque possui suas características. Monstros de ataque melee são, em sua maioria, robustos e eficientes para serem tanks. Eles têm a limitação de atacar apenas na primeira posição, mas, claro, existem exceções. Monstros de ataque ranged são um pouco diferentes, eles possuem boas habilidades e costumam ter um equilíbrio muito bom entre suporte, ataque e defesa. Eles também têm algumas exceções, e seu ponto fraco é não poderem atacar da primeira posição. Já os monstros mágicos possuem um poder à parte, sendo uma exceção em si mesmos, pois podem atacar a vida de um monstro diretamente, ignorando os escudos, não erram seus ataques e podem atacar de qualquer posição.
Claro, cada tipo de ataque e cada monstro possui suas vantagens específicas, sendo adequados para diferentes regras de combate. Podemos olhar para as vantagens de um monstro de ataque mágico e imaginar que apenas eles seriam suficientes para ganhar qualquer partida, mas não é bem assim. O grande segredo de Splinterlands está ligado à variedade e às possibilidades envolvidas nessa mistura para alcançar uma boa sinergia. A estratégia não está em apenas escolher os melhores monstros teoricamente, mas em encontrar a sinergia entre monstros, tipos de ataque, summoners e habilidades que sejam eficientes entre si e que trabalhem em harmonia.
Mas ainda assim, em algumas situações, utilizar apenas monstros de ataque mágico, com a ajuda de um summoner para potencializar seus ataques, pode ser realmente muito poderoso. Particularmente, eu gosto muito de focar em um tipo de ataque quando um summoner está potencializando os ataques, isso torna meu poder ofensivo mais eficiente. A grande questão é que, muitas vezes, ter apenas monstros mágicos no time significa que ele estará um pouco fragilizado, visto que monstros mágicos não são muito bons defensivamente, então algumas estratégias de defesa precisam estar envolvidas. Se eles são bons atacantes, mecanismos de defesa precisam ser implementados para protegê-los.
Na batalha de hoje, eu trouxe um pouco desse equilíbrio, mesmo escolhendo, na grande maioria, apenas monstros de ataque mágico. O equilíbrio, que falo na parte defensiva, foi escolher monstros adequados para trazer mais proteção ao time, com escudos adicionais e até mesmo atraindo ataques para um monstro específico, dando suporte a ele. Alguns pontos a serem mencionados:
Nessa batalha, todos os elementos com exceção do elemento morte estavam disponíveis, isso foi interessante visto que abriria porta para escolhas distintas dentro de um leque de opções em elementos diferentes. A regra era apenas um e quando o monstro sofria dano, ele teria seus status físicos elevados. 32 de mana é que temos para construir a estratégia e é uma boa quantidade para escolhas.
A escolha dos summoners foi simples. Da parte de meu adversário, ele possuía a escolha de um monstro da edição Gladius e claro, ele escolheu um dos monstros mais fortes de Splinterlands, a Quora. Eu escolho o elemento terra e o summoner que potencializa os ataques mágicos e simples assim.
Para a posição de tank, bem, um fato engraçado você olhar e perceber um monstro tão fraco nessa posição, mas meu adversário tinha uma estratégia bem direta: fortalecer a Quora para ela sim ser seu ponto principal de defesa na posição de tank. Minha escolha foi simples, um monstro com boas chances de esquiva, bom ataque e defesa e que regenera a vida a cada rodada.
Para a linha de de trás, minha estratégia e vamos começar falando da parte defensiva. Minha estratégia foi atrair os taques para um monstro com a habilidades Taunt e em adição acrescentei um monstro que cura um monstro da linha de trás toda rodada. Dessa foram, eu tinha minha defesa construída enquanto meus monstros mágicos desferiam seus ataques e ganhavam tempo sem correr muitos perigos.
Claro que o maior desafio foi passar pela Quora. Além dela se regenerar a cada rodada, teria outro monstro para ajudar nessa recomposição. Eu não poderia deixar que ela derrotasse qualquer monstro meu, pois se isso acontecesse, bem, eu estava perdido. Ela iria se fortalecer cada ve mais até que fosse impossível de para-la, mas consegui derrota-la antes que isso acontecesse e depois disso, a vitória foi fácil!

Of course, each attack type and each monster has its own specific advantages, suited to different combat rules. We might look at the advantages of a magic attack monster and imagine that they alone would be enough to win any match, but that's not quite the case. The great secret of Splinterlands lies in the variety and possibilities involved in this mix to achieve good synergy. The strategy isn't just about choosing the theoretically best monsters, but about finding synergies between monsters, attack types, summoners, and abilities that are effective and work in harmony.
However, in some situations, using only magic attack monsters, with the help of a summoner to enhance their attacks, can be quite powerful. Personally, I really like focusing on one attack type when a summoner is enhancing attacks; this makes my offensive power more efficient. The big issue is that, often, having only magic monsters on a team means it will be somewhat weakened, as magic monsters aren't very good defensively, so some defensive strategies need to be involved. If they're good attackers, defensive mechanisms need to be implemented to protect them.
In today's battle, I brought some of this balance, even though I chose mostly magic-based monsters. The balance, which I'm talking about in the defensive part, was choosing suitable monsters to provide more protection to the team, with additional shields and even drawing attacks to a specific monster, providing support. Some points to mention:
In this battle, all elements except the death element were available. This was interesting as it opened the door to different choices within a range of different elements. The rule was only one, and when the monster took damage, its physical stats would increase. 32 mana is what we have to build the strategy, and it's a good amount to choose from.
Choosing summoners was simple. My opponent had the choice of a Gladius Edition monster, and of course, he chose one of the strongest monsters in Splinterlands, Quora. I chose the earth element and the summoner that enhances magical attacks, and it was that simple.
For the tank position, well, it's funny how you look and see a monster so weak in that position, but my opponent had a very straightforward strategy: strengthen Quora so that she could be his main point of defense in the tank position. My choice was simple: a monster with good dodge chances, good attack and defense, and that regenerates health every round.
For the backline, my strategy is... and let's start by talking about the defensive side. My strategy was to draw attacks to a monster with the Taunt ability and, in addition, I added a monster that heals a back row monster every round. This way, I had my defense built while my magic monsters launched their attacks and gained time without running too much risk.
Of course, the biggest challenge was getting past Quora. Besides her regenerating every round, there would be another monster to help with her recovery. I couldn't let her defeat any of my monsters, because if that happened, well, I was doomed. She would only get stronger and stronger until she was unstoppable, but I managed to defeat her before that happened, and after that, victory was easy!
