Hi gamers! This time I come with a very good action and adventure game called Slain: back from hell. We can define this game as a metroidvania focused on skill, more than any other aspect, due to its difficulty it reminds a bit of Ghosts and Goblins, believe me when I tell you that you will see this screen every time when you start playing this video game.
In Slain we will embody our hero who apparently was in a lethargy of a few thousand years, he is awakened to fight a terrible evil that plagues his lands and kills his decendents, apparently being the only character capable of facing the hordes of demons that plague the world.
To the rhythm of Heavy Metal we will spend our time slashing monsters here and there while we go through thorny forests, bloody fortresses, hives of demons and all kinds of gothic structures, a game with very well-cared graphics and a well-worked gameplay.
When we start we will have a main screen, like those of a lifetime, from here we can start a new game, review some options or see the game credits.
Before starting the game it is worth reviewing the options and the graphic mode of the game, we will have type 1 and type 2 where the visualization of the game varies a little, giving more or less the appearance of playing on a retro TV.

Once the new game starts, we will see how our hero is awakened from his lethargy, and we can immediately leave our resting place to start destroying demons.
The animations of the movements are very well designed and with a pretty nice pixel art.

The first scenario will be the bloody lands, a place to the south where all resistance to the army of demons was massacred, the result of the battles was a lot of rivers of blood everywhere.
As soon as we emerge from the tomb we will be able to establish our first checkpoint, most of the checkpoints in Slain can be identified by looking like beacons of light.
Moving forward a bit I found the first enemies, a kind of killer bats, with the most basic and simple pattern of attack.
I saw a couple of ravens up ahead and didn't pay attention to them, turns out there was a trap and I stepped on it, getting my first kill in Slain as the game says, just get used to it.
This was the trap that ended me, the truth was quite noticeable, but I just didn't think I was going to get impaled xd.
Later I met a quite interesting "friend", with whom we are introduced to the parry mechanics, something I liked a lot, there are enemies that are easier to defeat with the parry, others attacking normally, some with magic and one of the most complicated ones where you have to charge attacks using perfect timing between charging your attack and it coming at you.
After crossing several rivers of boiling blood, I managed to pass this area and reach the hive. I will leave a gameplay of the area.
It wasn't that hard of an area, there were several flying demons, but that was it, although I must admit I had to die a couple of times before the video lol, the most annoying part was when I got locked up.
After the hive are the thorny forests, a fairly simple area, which after crossing it will give us our first battle against a boss. It's not too difficult but I must admit I was a bit silly.
After defeating the first boss we can get the key to the Tower of Blood, the next area of the game.
In this area we can appreciate how much the game does with what little it has, crossing this area consists of going around one turn after another by activating levers and going up maybe 4 levels. Before noticing this we are probably absorbed admiring the scenery and destroying a couple of monsters, trying to move from here to there without dying
When we reach the highest part of the tower we will have a battle with a couple of hellhounds that will act as bosses in this level, the truth is that this battle was complicated for me and I had to try again and again until I realized that they were quite simple enemies to defeat with the charged attack, it was just a matter of analyzing the combat times.
After this we will go to a site still protected and free from the evils that haunt this world, a resting place from where we can access levels already visited and go to the other sites in the game.
Finally, it is worth mentioning that we can acquire several types of weapons while we play, the truth is that the movements are very cool, with it we can be more effective against other types of enemies.

Slain: back from hell. is a metroidvania that points to the classic, to be simple, complicated and entertaining, if we are very skilled it is most likely that it will not take too long to finish it, although that would not be bad, since the action vivid is great, you can be there for a long time slicing one demon after another to the beat of heavy metal and just not get bored.
It is not the most complicated game, nor the simplest, we can say that it is a game accessible to all audiences, although it is most likely that you will die over and over again, you will always have the control points there for you.

Slain has a rhythmic gameplay that forces you to analyze every aspect of the game, enemies, types of enemies and their attacks, only then you can go through the game, however it is not what we expect from a game that seems to be a hack and slash in 2D, if we want to go around cutting one thing after another we will only get to die over and over again.
This is great and bad at the same time, since we can go super excited destroying demons, but from one moment to another we must wait for it to attack us to give a parry with which to defeat a fairly complicated enemy, or a charged attack measuring the times, an example of this is hellhounds, they're just too complicated in another way.

We don't have anything interesting about the story, a hero with the look of a rock star who goes around with a giant sword killing hordes of demons, really something common in a metroidvania, the originality of the game is seriously questionable because there are dozens of very similar games , it seems to me that it is not the most original, but it tries to introduce some nice mechanics, very nice scenes and a good soundtrack.

Hola gamers! En esta ocasión llego con un juego de acción y aventuras muy bueno llamado Slain: back from hell. Podemos definir este juego como un metroidvania enfocado en la habilidad, más que en cualquier otro aspecto, por su dificultad recuerda un poco a Ghosts and Goblins, créeme cuando te digo que veras a cada rato esta pantalla cuando empieces a jugar este videojuego.
En Slain encarnaremos a nuestro héroe quien aparentemente se encontraba en un letargo de algunos miles de años, este es despertado para combatir un mal terrible que azota a sus tierras y acaba con sus hijos, al parecer siendo el único personaje capaz de hacer frente a las hordas de demonios que azotan el mundo.
Al ritmo del Heavy Metal nos la pasaremos cortando monstruos por aquí y por allá mientras atravesamos bosques espinosos, fortalezas sangrientas, colmenas de demonios y todo tipo de estructuras góticas, un juego con gráficos muy bien cuidados y un gameplay bien trabajado.
Al iniciar tendremos una pantalla principal, como las de toda la vida, desde aquí podremos iniciar un nuevo juego, revisar algunas opciones o ver los créditos del juego.
Antes de empezar la partida vale la pena revisar las opciones y el modo grafico del juego, tendremos tipo 1 y tipo 2 donde varían un poco la visualización del juego, dando más o menos aspecto de jugar en una TV retro.

Una vez iniciada la nueva partida veremos como nuestro héroe es despertado de su letargo, e inmediatamente podremos salir de nuestro lugar de descanso para empezar a destrozar demonios.
Las animaciones de los movimientos están muy bien diseñadas y con un pixel art bastante bonito.
El timing será imprescindible en este videojuego.
El primer escenario serán las tierras sangrientas, un lugar al sur donde toda resistencia al paso del ejercito de los demonios fue masacrada, el resultado de las batallas fue un montón de ríos de sangre por doquier.
Desde que salimos de la tumba podremos establecer nuestro primer punto de control, la mayoria de los puntos de control en Slain pueden ser identificados por verse como faros de luz.
Avanzando un poco me encontré con los primeros enemigos, una especie de murciélagos asesinos, con el patrón más básico y simple de ataque.
Vi un par de cuervos más adelante y no les preste atención, resulta que había una trampa y la pise, logrando mi primera muerte en Slain como dice el juego, hay que irse acostumbrando.
Esta fue la trampa que acabo conmigo, la verdad estaba bastante notable, pero simplemente no pensé que me fuera a empalar xd.
Más adelante me encontré a un amigo bastante interesante, con el se nos introduce a la mecánica de los parrys, algo que me gustó mucho, existen enemigos que son más fáciles de derrotar con el parry, otros atacando de manera normal, algunos con magia y de los más complicados los que tienes que cargar ataques usando un tiempo perfecto entre cargar tu ataque y que venga hacia ti.
Luego de atravesar varios ríos de sangre hirviendo logre pasar de esta zona y llegar a la colmena. Dejare un gameplay de la zona.
No fue una zona tan difícil, habían varios demonios voladores, pero eso fue todo, aunque debo admitir que tuve que morir un par de veces antes del video jajaja, la parte más molesta fue cuando me quede encerrado.
Luego de la colmena están los bosques espinosos, una zona bastante sencilla, que tras atravesarla nos dará nuestra primera batalla contra un jefe. No es demasiado difícil pero debo admitir que hice un poco el tonto.
Luego de derrotar al primer jefe podremos obtener la llave de la Torre de Sangre, la siguiente zona del juego.
En esta zona podemos apreciar lo mucho que hace el juego con lo poco que tiene, atravesar esta zona consiste en dar una vuelta tras otra accionando palancas y subir quizá unos 4 niveles. Antes que notar esto probablemente estemos absortos admirando el escenario y destrozando un par de monstruos, intentando movernos de aquí por allá sin morir
Al llegar a la parte más alta de la torre tendremos una batalla con un par de perros infernales que harán de jefes en este nivel, la verdad esta batalla se me complico y tuve que intentar una y otra vez hasta darme cuenta que eran enemigos bastante simples de derrotar con el ataque cargado, solo era cuestión de analizar los tiempos del combate.
Luego de esto nos encaminaremos a un sitio aun protegido y libre los males que asechan este mundo, un sitio de descanso desde donde podremos acceder a niveles ya visitados e ir a los demás sitios del juego.
Por ultimo vale la pena mencionar que podremos adquirir varios tipos de armas mientras jugamos, la verdad los movimientos están muy geniales, con ella podremos ser más efectivos contra otro tipo de enemigos.
Puntuación final.
Slain: back from hell. es un metroidvania que apunta a lo clásico, ser simple, complicado y entretenido, si somos muy habilidosos lo más probable es que no tardemos demasiado para finalizarlo, aunque eso no estaría mal, pues la acción vivida es grande, puedes estar ahí un buen rato cortando un demonio tras otros al ritmo de heavy metal y simplemente no aburrirte.
No es el juego más complicado, ni el más sencillo, podemos decir que es un juego accesible a todo público, si bien lo más probable es que mueras una y otra vez , siempre vas a tener los puntos de control ahí para ti.

El apartado grafico es excelente, todo está muy bien pulido y cuidado, cuenta con un pixel art hermoso donde todo llega a ser admirable, enemigos, escenarios, animaciones, y bla, bla, bla, simplemente es un juego admirable de admirar, muy satisfactorio a la vista y que combina perfectamente con su banda sonora.

Slain tiene una jugabilidad rítmica que te obliga a analizar cada aspecto del juego, enemigos, tipos de enemigos y sus ataques, solo así puedes atravesar el juego, sin embargo no es lo que esperamos de un juego que parece ser un hack and slash en 2D, Si queremos ir por ahí cortando una cosa tras otra solo conseguiremos morir una y otra vez.
Esto es genial y malo a la vez, puesto que podemos ir super emocionados destrozando demonios, pero de un momento a otro debemos esperar a que nos ataque para dar un parry con el que vencer a un enemigo bastante complicado, o un ataque cargado midiendo los tiempos, un ejemplo de esto son los perros infernales, son simplemente muy complicados de otra manera.

De la historia no tenemos nada interesante, un héroe con pinta de estrella del rock que va por ahí con una espada gigante asesinado hordas de demonios, realmente algo común en un metroidvania, la originalidad el juego es enserio cuestionable pues hay decenas de juegos muy parecidos, me parece que no es el más original, pero se esfuerza por introducir ciertas mecánicas agradables, escenarios muy lindos y una buena banda sonora.

Si lo que deseas es ir jugar un juego complicado pero bastante simple con graficos modernos, demonios y heavy metal, Slain: back from hell. es para ti, no lo busques para nada más que pasar un buen rato, no vas a tener una historia profunda, o mecánicas super complicadas, pero si vas a tener un juego bastante divertido y a ratos frustrante.
