Hi Gamers! I recently bought a PS4 and was like:
“Man, what better way to enjoy this console than by reviewing some game.”
So I was trying some titles and I stayed with the Need for Speed Payback a video game that belongs to a saga that almost everyone knows, one of the best sagas related to racing video games, Need for Speed Payback was released on November 10, 2017, passing unnoticed, but standing out for the dynamic gameplay that almost all NFS offer us.
The game takes place in Fortune Valley, and we will follow three main characters, Tyler Morgan, Sean MacAllister and Jessica Miller in a story of betrayal, revenge and redemption, our heroes will live an odyssey guaranteed by "The House" an organization that fixes races and controls a large section of the bookmakers in Fortune Valley, they're clearly not the kind of people you'd want to hang out with.
Let's get started!
The game starts automatically in story mode, which will also serve as a tutorial, our first car to drive is a luxury sports car that we will try to steal, it is supposed to be lent to us to win a race, but Tyler, Sean and Jessica has other plans for this car. In this part we will have a brief introduction to the racing system.
After jumping the ramp with Tyler at the wheel we will see Jessica intervene to make it possible for Tyler to lose the police and leave the car at the drop-off site. Here we will be introduced a little in the mechanics of police chases.
After reaching the delivery point we will see that one of our friends was betrayed and the mission from now on will be to flee the city.
Running away becomes a problem because of the various barricades set up by the police, plus by this point some unidentified vehicles start chasing Tyler.
I must say that at this point one of the aspects that I have loved the most are the crash cinematics, for example, when you take another car off the track, they are very well worked, practically all the graphic aspect of this game is, if anything stands out visually.
After trying to flee for a while and finally reaching our destination we see how Tyler is caught at the extraction point, who catches him and who directed the unauthorized vehicles was the same person that Tyler and his gang planned to steal the car. luxury car Tyler was driving at the start. This eloquent character offers Tyler two options, work with him to defeat the person who betrayed him or die, clearly Tyler chooses the first option.
6 months pass in the game and we can see how Tyler acts as a chaperone.
At least he drives a pretty fancy car! Taking this capture I realized that I was in the first race against the clock that the game offers us, or at least about which I had notion.
After taking the car and a couple of humiliating words to our poor Tyler, we must go and get in a less luxurious car to get home.
Sometimes it's all a matter of perspective, for a man who stole a 2 million dollar car and was caught by the mafia owner of this car it should be a victory he is still alive, whole and with a house and means of transportation, that's right Tyler, like any racing video game protagonist, is very lucky.
Walking a bit in our small car we can hear on the radio of a racing event that will start shortly, Tyler after chatting with a couple of contacts manages to enter a race for "The House" race that if he wins he deserves a slightly better car.
From here we are given the option to explore the city, at the end of the day this game has a touch of sandbox, from the menu we can see the map of the city and draw routes to the places where we want to go, in my case draw a route to the race that I have available.
A detail that I quite liked is being able to see the flag of the marked site, this is visible from far away in the sky and helps a lot to orient ourselves without having to see the GPS.
Thus begins a new race!
It was a somewhat complicated race, but not impossible, the pileup we have at the beginning is really slow.
And so we got a little racing car!
With this little boy, the next task will be to sabotage the rigged races of "The House" and start with revenge.
After walking around here and there a bit I am heading to the race, I must say that I am not the best NFS player, but if I found the difficulty level of this race a little higher, I quite liked that, until the final route from the last lap he wasn't sure if he could win.
After all this a total drama begins, Tyler is persecuted by order of "The House" since he damaged one of his rigged races and made many people lose money.
Seriously, taking cars off the track in this video game is amazing.
After a couple of pretty long cinematics where Tyler's house explodes, we'll cut to the scene and play Sean, who's working as some kind of instructor for an influencer. In this part we talk a little about the dynamics of skidding in a nice car.
At this point Tyler calls Sean and asks him how life is going, Sean is not very happy and Tyler asks if he wants to get the band back together.
Finally we will see how Jessica is doing, who is driving for a couple of bank robbers, one of them is injured and we will have to race against the clock while being chased by the police, every time we go through a checkpoint we receive something more than time, a type of race with pressure.
Jessica is also called by Tyler, who hasn't contacted her in the 6 months she spent working for Will, the man who had caught him, she balked at the idea of getting the gang back together, but after a brief interception from Sean and a couple of pleas from Tyler I accept.
The last basic notions are given to us in the workshop of the mechanic, who offers a car to the band.
In my case, I chose the Buick for its ability to reach 100 km/h in just 5.63 seconds.
The Honda was cool, but I was convinced by the power of the Buick.
The good Volkswagen… It didn't convince me. XD
With one of these cars we are introduced to the last type of race, one against one, the mechanic is our adversary and for beating him he offers us an improvement to the chosen car.
Then we have a race on hard ground, for this we are given a choice between powerful cars, I simply chose a truck and crossed the plains in a type of hybrid race where the opponent was on the road and I was on the sand.
And then nothing, that's all for this brief gameplay! Let's move on to a brief analysis of the game.

Need for Speed Payback could be classified as a somewhat generic game, to be honest this title does not come out of the conventional formula of most NFS games, however it does what it should do well, it is a game that can boast to have polished gameplay and excellent graphics.
Although the video game does not stand out for its originality, it is a video game that strives to be frenetic, fun and very pleasing to the eye.

I love the graphic aspect of this video game, it goes beyond just being a game with good graphics, Need for Speed Payback exploits the formula that makes racing games fun, an unparalleled frenzy, now if you add to this well-polished graphics and good transitions it is inevitable to get excited or jump out of the chair when we crash at high speed or take a rival off the highway.
The cars are all very well designed and the cinematics are very well worked, there is little to say about this aspect, seeing all the images and videos in this post you can understand why I give it a 10.

I think the gameplay is really good, but we also have to remember that there is nothing new in this game and although I could lower the mark on originality I will do it here, since playing Need for Speed Payback feels like playing any NFS with less than 10 years of age.
That makes it seem like it's not worth it, or that you're just doing the same old thing, everything gets repetitive too quickly.

As much as I like this video game, I can't forgive it in this aspect, the story is too simple, like any other story of cars, a gang, betrayal and revenge. They did not try to innovate or do something new.
Its originality is null, I do not notice any difference with other NFS released not so far from this one, this is something important in a game, especially for its fans, we are always waiting to see something new, something that makes us want to be better or give more hours to a video game, something to unlock besides new cars. At least one interesting story to follow.

I think that for a casual game Need for Speed Payback works, you can just sit down and race some tracks while driving a nice car and experience a great sense of satisfaction, but nothing more than that, the story is somewhat bland and being forced to follow so many somewhat boring opening cinematics makes you want to leave. You will most likely end up skipping everything and running some good races at over 200km/h, something that really makes this game good and so it does not receive a final score lower than 5.
Hola Gamers! Recientemente me compre una PS4 y dije:
“Hombre, que mejor manera de estrenar esta consola que haciendo un review de algún juego.”
Así pues estuve probando algunos títulos y me quede con el Need for Speed Payback un videojuego que pertenece a una saga que casi todo el mundo conoce, una de las mejores sagas relacionadas a los videojuegos de carrera, Need for Speed Payback fue lanzado en el 10 de noviembre del 2017, pasando sin pena ni gloria, pero destacando por la jugabilidad dinámica que nos ofrecen casi todos los NFS.
El juego toma lugar en Fortune Valley, y seguiremos a tres personajes principales, Tyler Morgan, Sean MacAllister y Jessica Miller en una historia de traición, venganza y redención, nuestros héroes vivirán odisea garantizada por parte de “La casa” una organización que amaña carreras y controla un gran sector de las casas de apuestas en Fortune Valley, claramente no son el tipo de gente con la que querrías juntarte.
¡Empecemos!
El juego empieza de manera automática en el modo historia, que también nos servirá a modo de tutorial, nuestro primer auto a conducir es un deportivo de lujo que intentaremos robar, se supone que se nos presta para ganar una carrera, pero Tyler, Sean y Jessica tiene otros planes para este auto. En esta parte tendremos una breve introducción al sistema de carreras.
Luego de saltar la rampa con Tyler al volante veremos a Jessica intervenir para hacer que Tyler pueda perder a la policía y dejar el auto en el sitio de entrega. Aquí se nos introducirá un poco en la mecánica de las persecuciones policiales.
Tras llegar al punto de entrega veremos que uno de nuestros amigos fue traicionado y la misión a partir de ahora será huir de la ciudad.
Huir se vuelve un problema por las diversas barricadas colocadas por la policía, además para este punto algunos vehículos sin identificar empiezan a perseguir a Tyler.
Debo decir que en este punto unos de los aspectos que más me ha encantado son las cinemáticas de choque, cuando sacas a otro auto de la pista, están muy bien trabajadas, prácticamente todo el aspecto grafico de este juego lo está, si en algo se destaca en el aspecto visual.
Luego de intentar huir por un rato y llegar finalmente a nuestro destino vemos como Tyler es atrapado en el punto de extracción, quien lo atrapa y quien dirigía a los vehículos no autorizados era la misma persona a la que Tyler y su banda planearon robar el auto de lujo que conducía Tyler al comienzo. Este elocuente personaje ofrece dos opciones a Tyler, trabajar con él para derrotar a la persona que lo traiciono o morir, claramente Tyler escoge la primera opción.
Pasan 6 meses en el juego y podemos ver como Tyler hace de chaperón.
¡Al menos maneja un auto bastante lujoso! Tomando esta captura me di cuenta que estaba en la primera carrera contrareloj que nos ofrece el juego, o al menos sobre la cual tuve noción.
Luego de llevar el auto y un par de palabras humillantes a nuestro pobre Tyler, debemos ir y subir en un auto menos lujoso para llegar a casa.
A veces todo es cuestión de perspectivas, para un hombre que robo un auto de 2 millones de dólares y fue atrapado por el dueño mafioso de este auto debería ser una victoria todavía está vivo, entero y con una casa y medio de transporte, así es, Tyler como todo protagonista de videojuegos de carreras tiene mucha suerte.
Andando un poco en nuestro pequeño coche podemos escuchar en la radio de un evento de carreras que iniciara dentro de poco, Tyler tras charlar con un par de contactos logra entrar en una carrera para “La casa” carrera que si gana le hace merecedor de un coche un poco mejor.
Desde acá se nos da la opción de explorar la ciudad, al final de cuentas este juego tiene un toque de sandbox, desde el menú podemos ver el mapa de la ciudad y trazar rutas a los sitios donde queremos llegar, en mi caso trace una ruta a la carrera que tengo disponible.
Un detalle que me gusto bastante es el de poder ver la banderilla del sitio marcado, esta esta visible desde muy lejos en el cielo y ayuda bastante a orientarnos sin necesidad de ver el GPS.
Así empieza una nueva carrera!
Fue una carrera algo complicada, pero no imposible, el cacharro que tenemos al comienzo es realmente lento.
Y así conseguimos un pequeño auto de carreras!
Con este pequeño la siguiente tarea será ir a sabotear las carreras amañadas de “La casa” y empezar con la venganza.
Tras andar un poco por aquí y por allá me dirijo a la carrera, debo decir que no soy el mejor jugador de NFS, pero si encontré el nivel de dificultad de esta carrera un poco más elevado, me gusto bastante eso, hasta el trayecto final de la última vuelta no estaba seguro de si podría ganar.
Luego de todo esto empieza un drama total, Tyler es perseguido por orden de “La casa” ya que daño una de sus carreras amañadas e hizo perder dinero a mucha gente.
Enserio, sacar autos de la pista en este videojuego es algo alucinante.
Luego de un par de cinemáticas bastante largas donde la casa de Tyler explota, pasaremos de escena y encarnaremos a Sean, quien está trabajando como alguna clase de instructor para un influencer. En esta parte se nos habla un poco de la dinámica del derrape en un lindo auto.
En este punto Tyler llama a Sean y le pregunta cómo le va en la vida, Sean no está muy conforme y Tyler le pregunta si desea volver a reunir a la banda con el.
Finalmente veremos cómo le va a Jessica, quien está conduciendo para un par de ladrones de bancos, uno de ellos es herido y deberemos hacer una carrera contrareloj mientras somos perseguidos por los policías, cada vez que pasamos por un punto de control recibimos algo más de tiempo, un tipo de carrera con presión.
Jessica también es llamada por Tyler, quien no se ha contactado con ella en los 6 meses que paso trabajando para Will, el hombre que lo había atrapado, esta se negó a la idea de reunir a la banda de nuevo, pero tras una breve intercepción de Sean y un par de ruegos por parte de Tyler acepto.
Las últimas nociones básicas se nos dan en el taller del mecánico, quien ofrece un auto a la banda.
En mi caso elegí el Buick por su capacidad de llegar a 100 km/h en solo 5,63 segundos.
El honda estaba cool, pero me convecio la potencia del Buick.
El Volkswagen bueno… No me convenció. XD
Con uno de estos autos se nos introduce al último tipo de carrera, uno contra uno, el mecánico es nuestro adversario y por ganarle nos ofrece una mejora al auto elegido.
Luego tenemos una carrera por tierra, para esta se nos da a elegir entre autos potentes, yo simplemente elegí una camioneta y atravesé las planicies en un tipo de carrera hibrida donde el oponente iba por la vía y yo por la arena.
¡Y pues nada, eso es todo por este breve gameplay! Pasemos a un breve análisis del juego.
Puntuación final.
Need for Speed Payback podría ser catalogado como un juego algo genérico, siendo sincero este título no sale de la formula convencional de la mayoría de los juegos de NFS, sin embargo hace bien lo que debe, es un juego que puede presumir de tener una jugabilidad pulida y unos gráficos excelentes.
Si bien el videojuego no destaca por su originalidad es un videojuego que se esmera por se frenético, divertido y muy agradable a la vista.

Me encanta el aspecto grafico de este videojuego, va más allá de solo ser un juego con buenos gráficos, Need for Speed Payback explota la fórmula que hace divertidos los juegos de carreras un frenetismo sin igual, ahora si le sumas a esto graficos bien pulidos y buenas transiciones es inevitable emocionarse o saltar de la silla cuando chocamos a alta velocidad o sacamos a algún rival de la autopista.
Los autos están todos muy bien diseñados y las cinemáticas están muy bien trabajadas, hay poco que decir de este aspecto, con ver todas las imágenes y videos de este post se puede entender porque le doy un 10.

Creo que la jugabilidad está realmente bien, pero también debemos recordar que o hay nada nuevo en este juego y si bien podría bajar la nota en originalidad lo hare aquí, puesto que jugar, Need for Speed Payback se siente como jugar cualquier NFS con menos de 10 años de edad.
Eso hace que no parezca merecer la pena, o que simplemente estás haciendo lo mismo de siempre, todo se torna repetitivo demasiado rápido.

Por más que me guste este videojuego no lo puedo perdonar en este aspecto, la historia está demasiado simple, como cualquier otra historia de autos, una banda, traición y venganza. No intentaron innovar o hacer algo nuevo.
Su originalidad es nula, no noto alguna diferencia con otros NFS lanzados no tan lejos de este, esto es algo importante en un juego, para sus fans sobretodo, siempre estamos a la espera de ver algo nuevo, algo que nos haga desear ser mejores o darle más horas a un videojuego, algo que desbloquear además de autos nuevos. Al menos una historia interesante que seguir.

Creo que para ser un juego casual Need for Speed Payback cumple, simplemente te puedes sentar a correr algunas pistas mientras conduces un lindo auto y experimentas una gran sensación de satisfacción, pero nada más de eso, la historia es algo sosa y que te obliguen a seguir tantas cinemáticas iniciales algo aburridas te hace querer salir. Lo más probable es que termines saltándote todo y corriendo unas buenas carreras a más de 200km/h, algo que realmente hace bueno a este juego y por lo que no recibe una puntuación final menor a 5.
