Hello, Hivers! Hope you're having a good day. It's good to be here again. As some of you know, recently, together with my friends, we completed Terraria in its vanilla form. Although it was quite entertaining, at the same time it was simply for us to understand the basics of the game, especially how the classes worked, and how to move around. Since it's a game where even the smallest mob can kill you, even if you have full gear. Haha. But well, that's all behind us now, because after finishing the game we took a little break. So we can start the real challenge, which is a mod called Calamity. Which is practically a mod that changes the whole game. It increases the difficulty, it has new quests, hidden bosses, new biomes, and many other things. Clearly, in this story again we will be together with @dog3zz and @perceval.
This is our starting point. Although we clearly knew some things, this mod was going to change everything, so we were very excited. This was because none of the three of us had seen absolutely nothing of the mod, so we were new. In my opinion, this made the experience something totally new. For the start, we split up a bit. Doge and I would go looking for materials, items, weapons, and more. While Perce wanted to make the house, which I've already said that every time we came back it started to look more and more like a mansion. The first time we played, we quickly realized that everything had changed. So, well, it was up to us to go freely around the world, seeing what we were going to do and what kind we were going to play.
One of the mods we added along with Calamity is the Recipe Browser, which is a complete gem. This mod performs a function similar to that of the Game Guide since when you add an item, it shows you all the possible crafting options it has. In addition, it also shows you all the items in the game, where to get them, and much more.
This mod, although it may seem to take a bit of the fun out of the Guide NPC, is totally necessary. This is because the Calamity mod adds so many things that it's impossible to guess what class they are for, or where they come from, because of all the new bosses and so on.
investigating a bit, I found a gravity potion, which I quickly used to go to the sky in search of the Chick's Wings. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the mod had also changed the sky a lot. It felt much more alive than in the vanilla game, adding many more areas to explore. This was perfect for me at the start, as many of these mini planets had lots of heart crystals to increase my maximum health. Although I had no luck with the wings, I did take a lot of items, which I liked, as now it did feel like this biome was much more alive and entertaining.
The first boss fight came quickly, as the boss appeared on his own on one of the first nights. We quickly realized that this had changed dramatically. The boss had 6K health, which, while it may not seem like much, keep in mind that we hadn't decided what class to play, nor did we have "decent" accessories. We only had wooden armor, a lot of faith in Christ, and a nurse in the house, which, although she takes a lot of gold from us, is sometimes the MVP of the fights haha.
This encounter was really cool. We lasted a few minutes fighting him, which was insufferable as we could barely hit him in his second phase. This is because we didn't have an arena to fight in yet. But hey, it was great.
Here we also realized that unlike normal mode, here the loot is taken by everyone because it gives you a bag of treasures. It's a matter of luck what you get.
Thanks to @dog3zz, who was checking some things in the mod, he realized that there were 2 new bosses that we had to defeat at the beginning to make it a little easier for us to find equipment. These 2 bosses were quite a bit easier than the vanilla bosses themselves in the game. Of course, this is also the problem of not watching some progression guide videos.
Here we realized that we had underestimated the mod thinking that it didn't change so many things at the beginning. But it wasn't, in fact, it is well thought out, as these 2 bosses gave much more interesting things than the vanilla ones.

¡Hola, Hivers! Espero que estén teniendo un buen día. Es bueno estar por acá nuevamente. Como algunos saben, hace poco, junto a mis amigos, completamos Terraria en su forma vanilla. Aunque fue bastante entretenido, a su vez simplemente fue para que entendiéramos lo básico del juego, sobre todo cómo funcionaban las clases, y también cómo movernos. Ya que es un juego donde hasta el más mínimo mob te puede matar, incluso si tienes full gear. Haha. Pero bueno, eso ahora ha quedado atrás, ya que luego de terminar el juego nos tomamos un pequeño descanso. Para así poder comenzar el verdadero reto, el cual es un mod llamado Calamity. El cual es prácticamente un mod que cambia todo el juego. Aumenta la dificultad, tiene nuevos crafteos, jefes ocultos, nuevos biomas, y muchísimas cosas más. Claramente, en esta historia nuevamente estaremos junto a @dog3zz y @Perceval.
Este es nuestro punto de partida. Aunque claramente sabíamos algunas cosas, este mod iba a cambiarlo todo, por lo que estábamos muy emocionados. Esto debido a que ninguno de los tres había visto absolutamente nada del mod, por lo que éramos nuevos. A mi parecer, esto hacía de la experiencia algo totalmente nuevo. Para el inicio, nos dividimos un poco. Doge y yo iríamos a buscar materiales, objetos, armas, y más. Mientras que Perce quería hacer la casa, la cual ya digo que cada vez que volvíamos se iba pareciendo más a una mansión. La primera vez que jugamos, rápidamente nos dimos cuenta de que todo había cambiado. Así que bueno, nos tocó ir libremente por el mundo, viendo qué era lo que íbamos a hacer y qué clase íbamos a jugar.
Uno de los mods que añadimos junto al Calamity es el Recipe Browser, el cual es una completa joya. Este mod hace una función similar a la de la Guía del juego, ya que al agregar un ítem, te muestra todos los posibles crafteos que tiene. Además, también te muestra todos los ítems del juego, donde conseguirlos, y mucho más.
Este mod, aunque parezca que le quita un poco la gracia al NPC del Guía, es totalmente necesario. Esto se debe a que el Calamity mod agrega tantas cosas que es imposible intuir para qué clase son, o dónde salen, por el montón de jefes nuevos y demás.
Investigando un poco, me encontré con una poción de gravedad, la cual usé rápidamente para ir al cielo en busca de las Alas de polluelo. Me llevé una grata sorpresa al ver que el mod también había cambiado mucho el cielo. Se sentía mucho más vivo que en el juego vanilla, agregando muchas más zonas para explorar. Esto fue perfecto para mí al inicio, ya que en muchos de estos mini planetas había muchos cristales de corazón para aumentar mi vida máxima. Aunque no tuve suerte con las alas, me llevé muchos ítems, lo cual me gustó, ya que ahora sí se sentía este bioma mucho más vivo y entretenido.
La lucha contra el primer jefe llegó rápidamente, ya que el jefe apareció por su cuenta en una de las primeras noches. Rápidamente nos dimos cuenta de que esto había cambiado radicalmente. El jefe tenía 6K de vida, lo cual, aunque parezca poco, tengan en cuenta que no habíamos decidido qué clase jugar, ni teníamos accesorios "decentes". Solo contamos con una armadura de madera, mucha fe en Cristo y una enfermera en la casa, la cual, aunque nos quita mucho oro, a veces es la MVP de las peleas haha.
Este encuentro fue realmente genial. Duramos unos cuantos minutos peleando con él, los cuales fueron insufribles ya que apenas le podíamos pegar en su segunda fase. Esto se debe a que aún no teníamos una arena para pelear hecha. Pero bueno, fue genial.
Aquí también nos dimos cuenta de que, a diferencia del modo normal, aquí el botín es tomado por todos, porque te da una bolsa de tesoros. Es cuestión de suerte lo que te toque.
Gracias a @dog3zz, que estuvo revisando algunas cosas del mod, se dio cuenta de que había 2 jefes nuevos que debíamos derrotar al inicio para facilitarnos un poco el hecho de encontrar equipamientos. Estos 2 jefes eran bastante más sencillos que los propios jefes vanillas del juego. Claro, esto también es el problema de no ver algún video de guía de progresión.
Aquí nos dimos cuenta de que habíamos subestimado al mod pensando que no cambia tantas cosas al inicio. Pero no era así, de hecho está bien pensado, ya que estos 2 jefes daban cosas mucho más interesantes que los del vanilla.
