Coromon
Coromon is a new monster-taming game, which genre is generally also referred to as creature collector. Its pixel-art style is reminiscent of the original pokemon games. Perhaps, Coromon is proof that modernising the genre does not necessarily mean evolving the art style, but rather focus on creature design as well as game mechanics, such as linking Potential and the Perfect variations of each Coromon.
Let's Play Coromon #1 - Picking Our Starter
In the first episode of Let's Play, we select our character customisation, pick our starter and explore the Lux Solis Campus. It's a basic familiarisation with the game untiul we are ready to set out into the Velva Region as the new Battle Researcher.
Let's Play Coromon #2 - Lucky Start! A Perfect Swurmy and A Potent Mino
We are ready to head into the world. Going through Radiant Park, we find some new Coromon and battle trainers before reaching Hayville. While discovering new Coromon, we also came across a perfect Swurmy and a potent Mino.
Perfects and Potents
In Coromon, each creature has 1-21 potential. If it is high potential, such as 17-20, it will be considered as potent, whereas if it has 21 potential, it will be perfect. Both potents and perfect Coromon have different shiny variations, so each Coromon can have three different colour-schemes. The odds for a perfect are around 1/3174, so for us to have found a perfect Swurmy so early on is incredibly lucky!
