Hello and welcome back to my blog!

I got addicted to The Binding of Issac. I did a lot of runs lately and unlocked new characters and bosses.
One of the best characters so far is Cain, he comes with increased luck and decent damage. I underestimated luck a lot in the game and thought it didn't matter that much but for a game where there are a lot of things which you get depending on your luck like slot machine odds, items, etc. It is very useful to have.
On one of my lucky runs, I got multiple angel rooms, and they gave me a lot of powerful items and companions.
I got lucky with many sacrifice rooms, and I could utilise my improved health and got a lot of items. After a long time, I was not suffering from coin shortage and could buy almost everything from the shops, making my character even stronger in that run.
I went to a place called the Dark Room and fought many bosses. One of them was The Lamb. Even though these bosses had a lot of health but my build was too overpowering and I even had items and companions that could block enemy projectiles.
Look how many tears I was shooting along with all my companions, and each tear had a unique status effect as well. I bet you can't even see me in the sea of these colourful tears.
Once I defeated the boss in the Dark Room, a new golden gate appeared. Thankfully, I beat those angels to get the key pieces, and those pieces combined to make a key and opened this door. I had no clue what would be behind this door.
There was a pentagram inside the room, and once you stepped on it, the Mega Satan boss appeared. The amount of health it had was huge. Even though I was clearing the other bosses in a few seconds with my massive damage. This still took a long time. I was on half my heart, and because of the defensive items I had, it didn't give me much trouble.
And when I thought I killed it, there was another phase. I was too focused on killing it that I didn't even take a screenshot of the second phase. With all the bullet hell on the screen, I couldn't even figure out which shots were his and which was mine lol.
Once I defeated the Mega Satan, it played a new ending cutscene where Issac can be seen transformed into a devilish character.
This made the credits come up. I know it is only one of the many endings this game has, and there is a lot more content it is hiding. Multiple characters, hundreds of items, and secrets are still locked.
I am trying to shift my focus from the normal mode to challenges. I heard that completing them unlocks some cool new items in the game that can help the normal runs easily. But the issue with these challenges is that many of them are quite difficult.
There are multiple unique challenges, one of them you can't even shoot and can only rely on your little companions to deal damage. That is a massive handicap for the run. While in others, there are different starting conditions, like you cannot see your heart. Some give you a bad item at the start of the run that you cannot replace. But those are a great way to have fun at the same time. Thinking about creative ways to overcome those handicaps or using the items to your advantage.
Uncovering Secrets
There are many secret rooms in the game. Almost all floors have a secret room with more items, enemies or just resources. These are typically surrounded by two or more sides of a room, and you open their secrets by blowing up the walls to the adjacent room.
One rare thing that I encountered in my run is this 'I Am Error' room. I played a lot of runs and only saw it once so far. It had two angels, an item on the pedestal and two locked chests which I had never seen before.
Getting a room like this in your run can completely change the fate of your run. I don't exactly remember which item took me there. I used an item which teleported me there.
There is a dice room as well on some floor which alters the state of that floor in creative ways. Depending on the number on the dice, it will have different effect to it. I can see what it does if I step on it from the item description. So glad that the External Item Description shows these things as well.
There are a lot of secrets and hidden rooms in the game. The amount of content it has is massive, with so much stuff to do. The normal runs, challenges, online play, greed mode, etc. So many things to do.
