We killed the Ender Dragon in our Minecraft Survival world and it was an epic fight. I talked about it in this post.
The stronghold was in the middle of the ocean and in going back and forth to the ocean we found a few sunken ships. One of these ships had a treasure map as well.
It took us some time to find out its location. It had a Heart of the Sea. I know it is used for a farm in the ocean. But I am not sure how to do it or if we even need it. In any case, we grabbed all the loot and decided to get some sand as well.
We dig out the entire beach. It was a lot but we managed to mine a lot of sand without breaking out shovels. After going back to our base, we need to repair those shovels and other items. Well, we fed our livestock and then killed some to get all the experience required to repair our items.
Remember our ice tunnel which connects our base to the ocean? It was partially done so we decided to fix it. For that, we needed a lot of packed ice. There was a snow biome just close to our base so we went and mined a ton of ice blocks.
This time we had the shulker boxes with us so we could get a lot of them. The poor polar bear family saw the ice melt before their eyes. Later Beril came and killed them lol.
Our Pickaxes were about to break too so we had to kill more stuff and get more experience. This time it was the annoying chicken!
The only thing that was annoying me was the lack of full netherite armour. We already had the creeper farm which was producing gunpowder and now that we had a lot of sand as well. We made many stacks of TNT to do some mining in the nether. Our target was to get as much netherite debris to least cover us in netherite and then to mine more to upgrade our tools and weapons as well. It was a very tall order and spent hours in the nether just blast-mining and gathering one piece at a time.
But it didn't work out as we planned. We got bored way sooner than expected. So we started working on a more interesting project which was to expand our storage in the basement and make it a bit better as well. How long will we be living in a dirt hole?
After a lot of discussion on the design and colours of walls and flooring, we fixed this checker pattern on the floor. For the walls, we used the stone walls and found a good enough way to pack a lot of storage space. It wasn't easy to find a way to get enough storage with chests and not make it look super ugly.
This took way longer than expected too but it was much more fun than just mining for a long amount of time. I think it came out well.
A lot of time was spent on deciding where to put which item and how to organise everything in the most efficient way possible. We put items like wood and food in the closest chest and the items which are not used a lot in the farthest chest. Everything was deliberately discussed before making a decision.
We put our dragon egg on one of the walls. We made seven armour stands to make all the basic armour types in the game. We are missing Chaimal which we need to trade to get, I think. An expensive Nethrite Armour which even we were struggling to get and a trimmed armour set made from diamond?
I broke some eggs to hatch the chicks in them just to annoy Beril. She didn't want any animals in this room, especially not them as they were everywhere on our server. We are kind of getting annoyed with them at this point.
We started from this ugly storage room which we dug out on our first few days in this world. Upgrading it and making it look good and having more space is such a good feeling.
I don't like to spend my energy on making things look better, rather I would only do it if it serves a good practical purpose too. This was a perfect opportunity to be more practical too. I hope we don't have to expand it further now. It would be enough for all our needs unless we are planning some mega structures in our world.
