Hello, gamers. Welcome back to my blog.
It has been a few days since I played this game, the game saw a new update and after that, it has been acting a little weird and sometimes it just freezes but it now seems to be fixed. Anyways, we are still on the eastern side of the Silver Ridge Peaks investigating a series of very mysterious events. At first, one of the old rail tracks was stolen and we saw someone trying to vandalise a nearby outpost and the ruthless killing of mountain lions. The latest in the series is the theft of a rock saw from an important dig site.
We saw fresh tire tracks and decided to lock down the entire park, sure it is bad for business and tourism but the suspects may well be in the park. But there was one more gate that needs to be locked and we got this mission.
First, we need to pick up the padlock for the gate from a nearby watch tower. It was around 800 meters from my outpost. I saw a flock of Merriam Turkeys doing their business. They were no more than 200 meters away. I walked slowly towards them without making much noise and when I got around 150 meters mark, I opened fire.
To my surprise, they took a few seconds to realise what is going on and while they could react I shot 3 of them down. It's not easy to get 3 kills from the same group. I was lucky this time.
The watch tower was on top of a small hill so I climbed it after climbing the tower I surveyed the area to unlock the secrets of the nearby land. This generally puts some markers on the map for me to explore, these point-of-interest objects can be outposts, loose stones etc.
I went inside and saw a padlock lying on the table. When I picked it up my coordinates got updated to the location where I need to lock the gate. This was the last game of the rescue and locking it would mean that no vehicles would go in or out of the reserve and hopefully, the police will find the culprits soon.
I had to travel some 500 meters now. This part of the map was rather quiet and I saw no animals there. Maybe the edge of the reserves is very lightly populated. Anyways, when I reached the location, I saw a small gate, not sure how effective that would be in stopping a big truck...lol
As directed, I closed and locked the gate. Now we feel much safer. By this time we got the news that the police suspects a local activist group for this ruckus. They are supposed to be animal rights activists but seeing those brutal killings of mountain lions, we don't think it's them. This might be a big plan to kick out the warden from the board and this all could be just a political game. In any case, it remains a mystery. Hopefully, in the next few missions, I get to see who is behind all this.
Well, closing the door and locking it marked the completion of this simple campaign mission. Some missions are way too easy.
I wanted to unlock more parts of the reserve and there were still many unexplored patches which I loved to explore, so I started with the southern part of the map. It was mostly forest with patches of open grasslands. A bear ran past me and I could take the shot on time. It surprise me and I was not at all ready for it.
I saw two large groups of Pronghorn and Merriam Turkeys. They were next to each other. It's been a long since I harvest a Pronghorm, so I snuck right close to one and patiently took the shot. Since the turkeys are slow to respond and have a slight processing time. I took down one of the turkeys as well.
It was just a small female but still, I bagged a silver trophy. Any lung shot is lethal, especially from heavy weapons like the 7mm Magnum rifle.
Now, it was evening time and I was travelling for a long. I suck at hunting at night so I needed to find an outpost and luckily it was not far from there. I went and unlocked the outpost which can now be used as a fast travel location and store to buy new equipment and bullets.
I still had a couple of in-game hours of sunlight so I went out hunting. In this session, I only hunted small games so I went out looking for Bigger ones. Soon, I stumbled on a big herd of European Bisons. They are not super quick and have a large pair of lungs which are super easy to target. You need only one lung shot to take down a bison but it might take some tracking.
I followed the herd and hunted three of them. It was the perfect end to this session. All of them were silver trophies only.
Thanks for reading...
Until next time...
