I noticed that I had forgotten to shamelessly promote my last video about Halls of Torment here on Hive. This time I made a simple tips & tricks video using the things I've picked up in my 50+ hours of playing this game. There's things in here that should help both new and veteran players out.
Evolving my editing process
The worst part of any video for me is definitely the editing process. When I got burned out from making videos around a year ago there's no doubt that this was due to finding the editing process to be utter atrocious.
Now that I've started a new chapter on this channel I have taken a new approach to editing. I've been watching a lot of videos about how to edit faster and more efficient and it has definitely helped on my sanity. I'm not joking when I say that I think I've almost doubled the speed it takes me to edit this videos. Most of this comes down to experience and hotkeys. Mostly hotkeys.
I found a few decent hotkey tricks that are saving me so many clicks during the editing process. For instance when trimming down my clips I used to place two cuts to single out the segment I wanted gone. I then selected the segment and deleted it and then moved the segments I wanted together. I now have a hotkey to do this whole thing. I make my initial cut then move the marker to where I want to trim, press the hotkey and it deletes that part of the segment and moves the clips together. Since I'm doing this 100+ times during the editing of a video it's saving me a ton of time.
I'm also saving a ton of time when watching back my final edits by watching them at double speed. Literally halving the time it takes me to do a final check of my video. I can still make out my voice perfectly fine while paying attention to the editing to make sure everything is as it should be. This trick also helps when I'm looking through clips to find the details I need for a specific segment.
If anyone has more editing tips that I could implement in my process I would love to hear them.
