➤ The Bioshock saga I've been following from afar, even though according to most people they are incredibly good games they still haven't managed to tie me in, but with Bioshock Infinite something different happens. It hasn't managed to tie me in, but I do love what the game proves to be, especially coming from the first Bioshock to this one, it's a big change, both in gameplay, variety and above all graphically. Even though we can consider this game "old", it just looks exceedingly beautiful and even today it holds up too well.
➤ The beginning of the game is a bit strange, and in a way it reminded me a bit of the first game. We start on a boat with two guys and they take us to a lighthouse in the middle of the sea, just like in the first one where we end up in a lighthouse in the middle of the sea after a plane crash. So as we have nothing better to do, we go to the lighthouse that we do not know what it has inside or where it can take us because it is surely the best thing to do, of course. I don't know the story yet, but our main objective is to get a girl named Elizabeth, and according to what I've been hearing and intuiting, we don't do it only by our own merit, but because we are ordered by someone else, or at least I think so. This lighthouse is supposed to be the key to get to her, and yes, it is.
➤ During our journey through the lighthouse until we reach the top we will feel that atmosphere of darkness and fear, without knowing what we can find with each step until we see a tortured corpse without knowing what the hell it is, or even investigate it, so we just keep moving forward. At the end when we get to the top we will start with our first puzzle, which is actually quite basic and is that we just have to ring some bells in a specific way to unlock access to the lighthouse, although during this whole sequence suddenly the sky will turn completely red, the access will open and we will see a chair in the middle of nowhere, and the most witty thing is, EXACTLY, to go sit down as if nothing. And here comes the special part, once we are in the chair suddenly we will be caught from head to toe and we will be transported in a capsule to the sky, arriving then to Colombia... I mean, Columbia, a flying city. If you ask me, I don't understand what the hell just happened in this whole sequence either.

➤ Now that we're here, it's time to talk beyond the story. The first thing we'll see when we get there is what seems to be a church or a capitol, where we'll see a large cult of people worshiping who would become the greatest representative entity of this city, although I do not know if the founder, but that's the least of it, what matters to us is the action and admire some beautiful graphics. At first glance we will see the incredible quality in colors and reflections that the game has, and is that to have come out in 2013 and for the cartoon style that has, these certain touches of reflections and realistic lighting makes it look extremely well. And it is impossible not to admire something like this when it is the first thing we see as soon as we arrive.
➤ And the best thing is to get to the city, I considered this sequence epic because of how beautiful and brutal it looks, I do not even want to explain it because the best is seen in the images, but the incredible amount of vivid colors, reflections, details is simply amazing, and this we can see mainly in the photo I used as cover. But from here we can also see our first mechanics in terms of gameplay. And it's really nothing special, it's pretty basic but we have certain details that are good. We can move freely around the area and enter various locations, we will hear the NPC's talk, interact and move, in fact every time we approach one of them will have some kind of dialogue although we can not really interact with any of them, the simple fact that they are there talking, moving and being one with the game, make it feel much more alive. We will also be able to interact with our environment for example taking food from a hot dog stand and thus recovering life.

➤ Let's start with the action, and is that we now have a new addition that I love and is my favorite, I do not know what it's called but it is a saw style machine and will serve to attack melee, honestly this thing is my favorite. After certain disasters that we are going to commit so that the whole city will lash out at us will begin the good stuff by having to face any guard we see. And is that the saw gun for me is the best, but we will also get our first firearms, which in fact we will get them by killing the guards. The guns in this game keep that classic and old style, looking like old guns without any kind of modernization, reminding me a bit of that era of mafia guns. So don't expect to get an M4A1 or an AK-47. But I definitely like that the combat here feels much more balanced compared to the first game. And on top of that it's more dynamic, fast and fun and with that Bioshock feel.
➤ And of course we can't forget about the powers, or in this game called as invigorators. The first one we can get will be to control the turrets and make them take our side. Also later on we will be able to get other types of invigorators like a fire one, and many more that I will not explain, they will also maintain the typical essence of presenting us the ability of each invigorator with a kind of small animated video. The invigorators are undoubtedly one of the best things the game has, mixing shooting and then using a simple but powerful ability like suddenly launching a fireball or creating a trap, or controlling an enemy turret, make combat more fun. And we'll even encounter some special enemies that are also able to use the invigorators, although I wish most enemies could actually do it.

➤ We will also have new changes such as the infusion and improvement of our stats, such as our life bar, our energy bar to increase the use of invigorators and even a new stat that would be the shield, with which we can evade all the damage we receive until it runs out. So I think the most convenient thing to improve is the shield. And we will also have equipment, we will be able to equip something like "armor", which obviously we will not be able to see nor do they have any aesthetic function, nor do we have something like an inventory. They are simply pieces of equipment that will give us different benefits, and we can only equip or change them when we find one, or at least, so far I have not seen another way to change them. So based on this we will not be able to equip one item or another depending on the situation, which is something that does not convince me at all, but I'm not complaining either.

➤ I'm slowly discovering the game, although so far I have not come to vitiate, but I will try to complete it at some point, I already have several games to play and I would not like to leave this aside. That's all for now, thank you very much for reading, see you in the next post!

➤ La saga de Bioshock la he estado siguiendo muy de lejos, a pesar de que según la mayoría de las personas son juegos increíblemente buenos aún no han logrado atarme, pero con Bioshock Infinite pasa algo distinto. No me ha llegado a atar, pero sí me encanta lo que demuestra ser el juego, sobre todo viniendo del primer Bioshock a este, es un gran cambio, tanto en la jugabilidad, variedad y sobre todo gráficamente. A pesar de que podemos considerar este juego "antiguo", simplemente luce excesivamente hermoso y es que incluso a día de hoy se mantiene demasiado bien.
➤ El inicio del juego es algo extraño, y es que de cierta forma me recordó un poco al del primer juego. Ya que comenzaremos en un barco con dos sujetos y nos llevaran a un faro en medio del mar, tal como pasa en el primero que terminamos en un faro en medio del mar luego de un accidente de avión. Así que como no tenemos nada mejor que hacer, vamos al faro que no sabemos qué tiene dentro ni donde nos puede llevar porque seguramente es lo mejor, claro que sí. La historia todavía no la conozco del todo, pero nuestro objetivo principal es conseguir a una chica llamada Elizabeth, y según porque lo que he estado escuchando e intuyendo, no lo hacemos únicamente por nuestro propio mérito, si no que se trata de que somos ordenados por alguien más, o al menos eso pienso. Se supone que en este faro está la clave para llegar a ella, y sí, así es.
➤ Durante nuestra travesía por el faro hasta llegar a lo más alto sentiremos esa ambientación de oscuridad y miedo, sin saber que podemos encontrarnos con cada paso hasta que vemos un cadaver torturado sin saber qué demonios es, ni tan siquiera investigarlo, así que simplemente seguimos avanzando. Al final al llegar arriba comenzaremos con nuestro primer puzzle, el cual en realidad es bastante básico y es que solo tenemos que tocar unas campanas de una forma específica para desbloquear el acceso al faro, aunque durante toda esta secuencia de repente el cielo se pondrá completamente rojo, se abrirá el acceso y veremos una silla en medio de la nada, y lo más ocurrente es, EXACTO, irse a sentar como si nada. Y aquí vendrá lo especial, una vez que estemos en la silla de repente nos atraparán de pies a cabeza y seremos transportados en una capsula hacia el cielo, llegando entonces a Colombia... Digo, Columbia, una ciudad voladora. Si me lo preguntan, yo tampoco entiendo qué demonios acaba de pasar en toda esta secuencia.

➤ Ahora que estamos aquí, es hora de hablar más allá de la historia. Lo primero que veremos al llegar a parte de estar en lo que parece ser una iglesia o un capitolio, donde veremos un gran culto de personas adorando a quien vendría ser el mayor ente representativo de esta ciudad, aunque no sé si el fundador, pero eso es lo de menos, a nosotros lo que nos importa es la acción y admirar unos gráficos hermosos. A primera instancia veremos la increíble calidad en colores y reflejos que tiene el juego, y es que para haber salido en 2013 y para el estilo caricaturezco que tiene, estos ciertos toques de reflejos e iluminación realista lo hace quedar extremadamente bien. Y es que es imposible no admirar algo así cuando es lo primero que vemos apenas llegar.
➤ Y lo mejor es llegar a la ciudad, consideré esta secuencia épica por lo hermoso y brutal que se ve, no quiero ni explicarlo porque lo mejor se ve en las imágenes, pero la increíble cantidad de colores tan vivos, de reflejos, de detalles es simplemente alucinante, y esto lo podemos ver principalmente en la foto que utilicé de portada. Pero a partir de aquí ya también podremos ver nuestras primeras mecánicas en cuanto a la jugabilidad. Y es que realmente no es nada del otro mundo, es bastante básica pero tenemos ciertos detalles de primera instancia que son buenos. Podremos movernos libremente por la zona y entrar a varias localizaciones, escucharemos a los Npc's hablar, interactuar y moverse, de hecho cada vez que nos acerquemos a uno de ellos tendrán algún tipo de dialogo aunque en realidad no podemos interactuar con ninguno de ellos, el simple hecho de que estén allí hablando, moviendose y siendo unos con el juego, lo hacen sentir mucho más vivo. También podremos interactuar con nuestro entorno por ejemplo tomando comida de un puesto de hot dogs y así recuperar vida.

➤ Comencemos con la acción, y es que ahora tenemos un nuevo añadido que me encanta y es mi favorito, no sé cómo se llama pero es una máquina al estilo de sierra y servirá para atacar cuerpo a cuerpo, sinceramente esta cosa es mi favorita. Después de ciertos desastres que vamos a cometer para que toda la ciudad arremeta con nosotros comenzará lo bueno al tener que enfrentarnos a cualquier guardia que veamos. Y es que el arma de sierra para mí es lo mejor, pero también conseguiremos nuestras primeras armas de fuego, que de hecho las conseguiremos matando a los guardias. Las armas en este juego mantienen ese estilo clásico y antiguo, de parecer armas viejas sin ningún tipo de modernización, recordandome un poco a esa era de armas de mafia. Así que no esperen conseguirse una M4A1 o una AK-47. Pero sin duda me gusta que el combate aquí se siente mucho más equilibrado a comparación del primer juego. Y encima a eso es más dinámico, rápido y divertido y con el toque de Bioshock.
➤ Y por supuesto no podemos olvidarnos de los poderes, o en este juego llamado como vigorizadores. El primero que podremos conseguir será para controlar las torretas y hacer que se pongan de nuestro lado. También más adelante podremos conseguir otros tipos de vigorizadores como uno de fuego, y muchos más que no explicaré, también mantendrán la típica esencia de presentarnos la habilidad de cada vigorizador con una especie de pequeño video animado. Los vigorizadores sin duda son de las mejores cosas que tiene el juego, mezclar el estar disparando y luego utilizar una habilidad sencilla pero potente como de repente lanzar una bola de fuego o crear una trampa, o controlar una torreta enemiga, hacen más divertidos los combates. E incluso nos encontraremos con algunos enemigos especiales que también son capaces de usar los vigorizadores, aunque me gustaría que en realidad la mayoría de los enemigos pudieran hacerlo.

➤ También tendremos nuevos cambios como la infusión y mejora de nuestras estadisticas, como nuestra barra de vida, nuestra barra de energia para aumentar el uso de los vigorizadores e incluso una nueva estadística que sería la de escudo, con el cual podremos evadir todo el daño que recibamos hasta que se agote. Así que creo que lo que más conviene mejorar es el escudo. Y también tendremos equipamiento, podremos equiparnos algo así como "armaduras", que obviamente no podremos ver ni cumplen ninguna función estética, ni tenemos algo así como un inventario. Simplemente son piezas de equipamiento que nos otorgarán distintos beneficios, y solo podremos equiparlas o cambiarlas cuando encontremos una, o al menos, hasta ahora yo no he visto otra forma de cambiarlos. Por lo cual en base a esto no podremos equiparnos un objeto u otro dependiendo de la situación, lo cual es algo que no me termina de convencer del todo, pero tampoco me quejo.

➤ Voy poco a poco descubriendo el juego, aunque hasta ahora no me ha llegado a viciar, pero intentaré completarlo en algún momento, tengo ya varios juegos pendientes por jugar y no me gustaría dejar este de lado. Esto es todo por ahora, muchas gracias por haber leído, ¡nos vemos en el próximo post!
