➤ After years of insistence from @stk-g for me to play Hollow Knight, I'm finally here, and Hollow Knight has proven to me to be a totally worthwhile game. At least what I've seen so far I liked, I suffered, I died, I got lost and I didn't even know what to do or where to go, or who I am or how I am, you can hardly tell it's a Soulslike game.... So it's time for a new adventure full of suffering!
➤ Hollow Knight is supposed to be a metroidvania, in fact I'm not very knowledgeable about this genre of games and I've tried them very very little, I'm not that much of a fan. But the first thing I want to talk about is the artistic and level design of Hollow Knight, and it's just beautiful. The attention to detail that they had with this game denotes all the effort of its creators. Graphically speaking, in spite of being a 2D game, it looks very beautiful, the surroundings and the dark and gloomy atmosphere together with the soundtrack that accompanies you makes you feel that you are really in that place, it makes it feel excessively immersive. You can easily stand in one place admiring the scenery, admiring every rock, every structure, how well defined and detailed they are, the blurred background with movements and animations, butterflies flying around or dragonflies, I don't know what they are, but I just love it.
➤ Obviously it is characteristic the fact that we will have to be smart when it comes to move and move between platforms, in fact it makes me curious our set of movements. We can run normally, jump and do a long jump, there is no double jump or anything like that, or at least so far I haven't seen it. We can also attack up and down, and go crazy mixing the keys to do it right, I guess that's why it's better to play it on joystick, although for games of this type I prefer a thousand times to play with keyboard, it's more comfortable. We will have to be careful between platforms, we will never know when a giant worm comes out or when a stalagmite falls from the sky, LITERAL, several times I have fallen or died because a stone falls from the sky. Or if they don't put an enemy curiously in that place where you have to fall as soon as you jump so that it hits you and throws you to the nothingness.

➤ The story I still don't know very well, we only start with an initial cinematic where they show us a beast and then we appear on our way to a small town, here we will meet someone and he is supposed to be an insect, so I imagine that we are too. He tells us that the town has become empty and there is no one left but him, and he also tells us that we can keep moving to some catacombs below the town. So that will be our goal. In fact we can also enter one or another house in the place and explore a little. But there is a flaw... We CANNOT KILL NPC's, I wanted to try to hit him with a sword but I couldn't do anything to him, quite sad to be honest.
➤ The catacombs are quite a large place and as we advance we will discover more details of the gameplay. I was walking around quietly and I met a guy reading papers who tells me that he is a cartographer and that he can sell me a map of the caves where I am, he also told me about his wife who lives in the village and that she can also sell us things, and that she would arrive soon. To be able to buy objects we will use something like stones, I don't know what they are, but they are the currency of the game, we will get them by killing any enemy and also in some kind of mines on the ground that we can break by hitting them. At the end I bought the map and I was kind of WTF. Because the map doesn't mark the place where we are, so we have to use our best explorer skills to be able to orient ourselves and know where we are and where to go, I liked this too much because in a way it's a realistic touch and also to the difficulty, although it still doesn't last long. Another thing I love is the animation when we open the map, we see our character holding it with his hands and walking little by little, it is very tender, even though the game seems dark it has certain things that look very tender.

➤ The combat system is not very extensive, but it fulfills its purpose, which is to be fun and good. As I said before we can attack in several ways, up, down and sideways, which means that we can attack like crazy while jumping and thus also be able to reach enemies that are in the air more easily. At least for now the enemies aren't that challenging or difficult, but little by little you'll see more of them. Most of them die in 2 or 3 hits. We will also have our small life bar that will be characterized by the capacity of hits we can receive, that is, we will have 5 lives, and if we receive 5 hits we will die, there is a way to heal and it is by consuming the souls of the enemies we kill. And as always, Dark Souls style we will start quietly killing stupid enemies to then be put against a giant cockroach that killed me like 4 times, although then I easily learned his attack pattern and it became a piece of cake. What is, is that at least so far, there is no way to dodge other than our own skill with our moves, here we won't be able to roll. Also something very curious is that when we die our wraith will be hanging around, in fact it scared me at first and I thought I just had to jump on him and pick him up, but he attacked me and I had to kill him.

➤ Here there will be nothing and no one to tell us what to do, I was completely lost, in fact Arisu was helping me precisely because of that, I didn't know where to go. I was wandering all over the map and getting into places where I surely didn't have to go. I even came across the cutest NPC I've seen so far, a mining cockroach humming songs while breaking rocks, he's too cute, I couldn't do anything special with him but just watching him was fun. The map was also confusing and I couldn't get my bearings, it told me there was a boss in the center that I had to kill but I didn't know how to get there. In the end I remembered what the cartographer told me and I ended up going back to town and met his wife, who was selling me very curious things. She sold me a compass to know where I was on the map, also pens to mark the areas I discover, markers to mark specific places, enemies or npc's, and every time I discover more gameplay, I end up liking it much more. In the end I ended up buying the compass to be able to know where the hell to go.

➤ And here began the fear... I already knew how to get to the first boss, now the dangerous part was facing him. I wanted to kill him on my first attempt but it was impossible, when I finally got to him it turns out that the boss is a giant fat knight with a mace, I will not describe much of the boss because I just recorded a video of the whole battle for you to see my incredible skill and how I killed him, becoming a professional Hollow Knight player, but I confirm that for being the first boss, it is a good challenge, especially in people not experienced with this kind of games.

➤ Después de años de insistencia de @stk-g para que juegue Hollow Knight, finalmente estoy aquí, y Hollow Knight me ha demostrado ser un juego que vale totalmente la pena. ➤ Se supone que Hollow Knight es un metroidvania, de hecho no estoy muy informado de este género de juegos y los he probado muy muy poco, no soy tan fanático. Pero es que lo primero que quiero hablar de todo es el diseño artístico y de niveles de Hollow Knight, y es que es simplemente hermoso. El cuidado al detalle que tuvieron con este juego denota todo el esfuerzo de sus creadores. Gráficamente hablando a pesar de ser un juego 2D se ve demasiado hermoso, los alrededores y el ambiente tan tétrico y oscuro junto al soundtrack que te acompaña te hace sentir que verdaderamente estás en ese lugar, lo hace sentir excesivamente inmersivo. Puedes fácilmente quedarte parado en un solo lugar admirando el paísaje, admirando cada roca, cada estructura, lo bien definida y detallada que están, el fondo desenfocado de fondo con movimientos y animaciones, mariposas volando por allí o libelulas, no sé qué sean, pero simplemente me encanta.
➤ Obviamente es característico el hecho de que tendremos que ser inteligentes a la hora de movernos y desplazarnos entre plataformas, de hecho se me hace curioso nuestro set de movimientos. Podemos correr de forma normal, saltar y hacer un salto largo, no existe doble salto o algo por el estilo, o al menos hasta ahora no lo he visto. También podremos atacar hacia arriba y hacia abajo, y volvernos locos mezclando las teclas para hacerlo bien, supongo que por eso es mejor jugarlo en joystick, aunque para juegos de este tipo prefiero mil veces jugar con teclado, se me hace más cómodo. Tendremos que tener cuidado entre las plataformas, nunca sabremos cuando sale un gusano gigante o cuando nos cae una estalagmita del cielo, LITERAL, ya varías veces sin querer me he caído o me he muerto porque me cae una piedra del cielo. O si no ponen un enemigo curiosamente en ese lugar donde tienes que caer apenas saltas para que te pegue un golpe y te tire hacia la nada.

➤ La historia aún no la sé muy bien, solo comenzamos con una cinemática inicial donde nos muestran una bestia y luego aparecemos nosotros en camino a una pequeña ciudad, aquí nos encontraremos a alguien y se supone que es un insecto, por lo que imagino que nosotros también lo somos. Él nos cuenta que la ciudad se ha quedado vacía y ya no queda nadie más que él, y también nos cuenta que podemos seguir avanzando a unas catacumbas abajo de la ciudad. Así que ese será nuestro objetivo. De hecho también podemos entrar a alguna que otra casa del lugar y explorar un poco. Pero hay un fallo... NO PODEMOS MATAR NPC's, yo quería intentar caerlo a espadazos pero no podía hacerle nada, bastante triste la verdad.
➤ Las catacumbas son un lugar bastante amplio y conforme más vayamos avanzando iremos descubriendo más detalles de la jugabilidad. Yo andaba por allí tranquilo y me encontré con un tipo leyendo papeles que me dice que es un cartografo y que puede venderme un mapa de las cuevas donde estoy, también me contó acerca de su esposa que vive en el pueblo y que también nos puede vender cosas, y que ella llegaría pronto. Para poder comprar objetos usaremos algo así como unas piedras, no sé qué son, pero son la moneda del juego, la conseguiremos matando a cualquier enemigo y también en algunas especies de minas en el suelo que podremos romper golpeándolas. Al final le compré el mapa y me quedé tipo WTF. Porque el mapa no marca el lugar donde nosotros estamos, así que tenemos que usar nuestras mejores habilidades de explorador para poder orientarnos y saber dónde estamos y dónde ir, me gustó demasiado esto porque de cierta forma es un toque realista y también a la dificultad, aunque igual no dura mucho. Otra cosa que me encanta es la animación cuando abrimos el mapa, vemos a nuestro personaje sosteniendolo con las manos y caminando poco a poco, es muy tierno, por más que el juego parezca oscuro tiene ciertas cosas que lucen muy tiernas.

➤ El sistema de combates no es muy amplio que digamos, pero cumple su cometido, que es ser divertido y bueno. Como dije anteriormente podemos atacar de varias formas, hacia arriba, hacia abajo y hacia los lados, lo que significa que podemos ir atacando como locos mientras saltamos y así también poder llegar más fácil a enemigos que estén en el aire. Al menos por ahora los enemigos no son tan retadores ni difíciles, pero poco a poco se van viendo más. La mayoría mueren de 2 o 3 golpes. También tendremos nuestra pequeña barra de vida que se caracterizará por la capacidad de golpes que podemos recibir, es decir, tendremos 5 vidas, y si recibimos 5 golpes moriremos, existe una forma de curarse y es consumiendo las almas de los enemigos que matamos. Y como siempre, al estilo Dark Souls comenzaremos tranquilamente matando enemigos estúpidos para que luego nos pongan contra una cucaracha gigante que me mató como 4 veces, aunque luego me aprendí fácilmente su patrón de ataques y se hizo pan comido. Lo que sí, es que al menos hasta ahora, no hay ninguna forma de esquivar más que nuestra propia habilidad con nuestros movimientos, aquí no podremos rodar. También algo muy curioso es que cuando morimos nuestro espectro se quedará por allí rondando, de hecho me dió miedo al principio y pensé que solo tenía que tirarme encima de él y recogerlo, pero me atacó el desgraciado y tuve que matarlo.

➤ Aquí no habrá nada ni nadie que nos digan que hacer, yo estaba completamente perdido, de hecho Arisu me estaba ayudando precisamente por eso, no sabía a dónde ir. Andaba paseando por todas las partes del mapa y metiéndome en lugares donde seguramente no tenía que ir. Hasta me encontré el NPC más tierno que he visto hasta ahora, una cucaracha minera que tarareaba canciones mientras rompía rocas, es demasiado tierno, no podía hacer nada especial con él pero quedarme viéndolo era divertido. El mapa también era confuso y no lograba orientarme, me decía que había un jefe en el centro que tenía que matar pero no sabía como llegar. Al final recordé lo que me dijo el cartográfo y terminé volviendo al pueblo y me encontré con su esposa, quien me vendía cosas muy curiosas. Me vendía una brujula para saber donde estaba yo en el mapa, también plumas para marcar las zonas que descubro, marcadores para marcar lugares en específicos, enemigos o npc's, y es que cada vez que voy descubriendo más la jugabilidad, me termina gustando mucho más. Al final terminé comprando la brújula para poder saber a dónde coño ir.

➤ Y aquí comenzó el miedo... Ya sabía cómo llegar al primer jefe, ahora lo peligroso era enfrentarme a él. Quería matarlo en mi primer intento pero fue imposible, cuando por fin llegué hasta él resulta que el jefe es un caballero gordo gigante con una maza, no voy a describir mucho del jefe porque precisamente grabé un video de toda la batalla para que vean mi increíble habilidad y como lo maté, convirtiendome en jugador profesional de Hollow Knight, pero confirmo que para ser el primer jefe, es un buen reto, sobre todo en personas no experimentadas con este tipo de juegos.
➤ Intentaré seguir con esta aventura lo más que pueda, a menos que termine desinstalando el juego por rabia, pero por ahora me está gustando bastante. Esto es todo por ahora, muchas gracias por haber leído, ¡nos vemos en el próximo post!
