➤ Undoubtedly The Witcher 3 has become a very curious game where we see a story perhaps difficult to understand, especially if we have not played the previous games or at least have a prior knowledge of what happens, although the game is responsible for trying to clarify this I feel that in The Witcher 2 explained the story much better if you did not know anything about it, but this is not the point, the point is that it is a new story to discover added to a difficulty that will make us suffer. Nothing is easy from the very beginning.
➤ The beginning of the story is to find Yennefer, who is the greatest love of Geralt and was missing, in fact the story of The Witcher 2 is also set in how to find her and Geralt recovers his memory to remember her, although I have to admit that it is not entirely clear to me how Yennefer returned, just sent a letter to let them know where to find her and out of nowhere instead of us finding her, she finds us. It turns out that Yennefer made an alliance with the Nilfgaardian Empire, who now cover for her and she will ask for our help in her mission, which is to find Ciri. Ciri is a very important character in the plot, due to the fact that she keeps hidden special abilities, she is the adopted daughter of Geralt and at the same time she is the daughter of the Nilfgaardian emperor, who entrusts us with the mission of finding Ciri after she was missing for so long. I have to say that I don't like Yennefer, I find it absurd that being Geralt's greatest love and that she feels the same for him, and that after 2 years without seeing each other she is not able to give him a single hug, and in fact she treats Geralt in a rather, strange way.... So to speak, he's not the most charismatic and caring character we're going to meet.
➤ To give you a bit of context about Ciri she is from a dynasty called the ancient blood, which came from the love of an Elf knew with a human, and is able to bestow certain magical powers which Ciri has and this made her a target of the wild hunt, a group of elves who are able to travel between worlds and want the power of the ancient blood for anything but good intentions. Ciri was forced to travel between worlds to escape the Wild Hunt and that is why she was missing for so long. The reason for her return is unknown.
➤ And yes, that's basically our goal for now, to find Ciri, but that's not what matters, it's everything we'll experience on the way to get to her. But now it's time to talk a little more about the gameplay, especially the hard start we live. The beginning of the game is very complicated, especially because we will start with a pretty pathetic team and the biggest problem is the fact of getting gold, and that we will suffer when our weapons break, which wear out very quickly and we will need a lot of gold to repair them or to buy repair kits, which are quite expensive of course. And along with that leveling up is also a big problem, it is somewhat slow to do and each mission has a recommended level to do it, so we simply can not go forward in the story just because, we will be forced to explore, experiment, do many side missions and look for ways to find gold, improve our equipment, level up and choose correctly our skills.
➤ The secondary missions is the best thing we can do, and especially also focus on making witcher contracts, with which we can earn a lot of gold and we can even negotiate the amount of gold we want and are also very fun, because we will live the essence of what it is to be a witcher, kill huge monsters is always a difficult challenge. Although you have to be careful and always check the level required for each contract, it is something strange but I being level 5 I accepted a contract that was for level 24, I tried to do it without looking and well, it did not go well. There are contracts at the beginning that are really quite difficult and with the basic equipment we will not be able to do it, so the best thing to do is to explore in search of new equipment.
➤ Throughout the immense map that we can go through we will find many unknown points to explore, we can find lost treasures, some guarded by monsters and also certain bandit camps that sometimes tend to have good equipment saved. The best thing is always to try to find treasures that are not guarded or those that are at the bottom of the sea, always give good rewards and objects listed as "relics" with superior statistics to all others and with many gaps implementation of runes. And is that as in The Witcher 2 we can place runes on our weapons that give us bonuses such as more damage, freeze or burn enemies, cause bleeding and more. Each item can have one slot, or two or three, depending on the rarity of the item. This is precisely why exploring becomes a fundamental part of the game.
➤ Of course we can also find scrolls of creation that will allow us to forge much more advanced equipment or that we cannot find easily, and for this we will need the help of the blacksmiths and several specific objects that we can buy from them or look for them on our own, and maybe save money in creating something. This is also a very good option that will allow us to improve our equipment a lot, and by the way, something fundamental that I want to recommend is to buy a new silver sword as soon as possible, believe me it is very necessary to be able to perform the contracts much more easily and that the monsters do not dismember us. Something I also want to mention is that maybe I find it so difficult because I started the game on a high difficulty, but I feel that this is what gives it all the essence and what allows me to explore far beyond the ordinary.
➤ The truth is that I'm a fan of this difficulty level from the beginning, it's a way to make the game much more complete, explore it and focus on choosing well every decision, every purchase, every item, every level and what skill we want to raise. ➤ Sin duda The Witcher 3 se ha vuelto un juego muy curioso donde vemos una historia tal vez difícil de entender, sobre todo si no hemos jugado los juegos anteriores o al menos tener un previo conocimiento de lo que ocurre, aunque el juego se encarga de intentar aclararnos esto siento que en The Witcher 2 explicaban mucho mejor la historia por si no sabías nada de ella, pero este no es el punto, el punto es que es una historia nueva por descubrir sumado a una dificultad que nos hará sufrir. Nada es fácil desde el primer comienzo.
➤ El comienzo de la historia es buscar a Yennefer, quien es el mayor amor de Geralt y estaba desaparecida, de hecho la historia de The Witcher 2 también se ambienta en cómo encontrarla y Geralt recupera su memoria para recordarla, aunque tengo que admitir que no me queda del todo claro el cómo Yennefer volvió, simplemente envió una carta para que sepan donde encontrarla y de la nada en vez de nosotros encontrarla, ella nos encuentra a nosotros. Resulta que Yennefer pactó una alianza con el impero nilfgaardiano, quienes ahora la cubren y ella nos pedirá ayuda en su misión, la cual es encontrar a Ciri. Ciri es un personaje muy importante en la trama, por el hecho de mantener habilidades especiales ocultas, ser la hija adoptiva de Geralt y a su vez ser la hija del emperador Nilfgaardiano, quien nos encomienda la misión de encontrarla a Ciri luego de que estuviera tanto tiempo desaparecida. Tengo que decir que no me gusta Yennefer, me parece absurdo que siendo el amor más grande de Geralt y que ella sienta lo mismo por él, y que después de 2 años sin verse no sea capaz de darle ni un solo abrazo, y de hecho trata a Geralt de una forma bastante, extraña... Por así decirlo, no es el personaje más carismático y cariñoso que vamos a conocer.
➤ Para darles un poco de contexto acerca de Ciri ella es proveniente de una dinastia llamada la antigua sangre, la cual surgió del amor de una Elfa sabía con un humano, y es capaz de otorgar ciertos poderes mágicos los cuales tiene Ciri y esto la convirtió en objetivo de la caceria salvaje, un grupo de elfos que son capaces de viajar entre mundos y quieren el poder de la antigua sangre para todo menos buenas intenciones. Ciri se vio obligada a viajar entre mundos para escapar de la Caceria Salvaje y por eso fue que estuvo tanto tiempo desaparecida. El motivo de su regreso es desconocido.
➤ Y sí, eso es básicamente nuestro objetivo por ahora, encontrar a Ciri, pero no es lo que importa, si no todo lo que viviremos en el camino para llegar hacia ella. Pero ahora es hora de hablar un poco más de la jugabilidad, sobre todo del duro inicio que vivimos. El inicio del juego es muy complicado, sobre todo porque comenzaremos con un equipo bastante patético y el mayor problema es el hecho de conseguir oro, y que sufriremos cuando se rompan nuestras armas, las cuales se desgastan muy rápido y vamos a necesitar de mucho oro para repararlas o para comprar kits de reparación, que son bastante caros por supuesto. Y junto a eso subir de nivel también es un gran problema, es algo lento de hacerlo y cada misión tiene un nivel recomendado para hacerla, por lo cual simplemente no podremos ir avanzando en la historia porque si, nos veremos obligados a explorar, experimentar, hacer muchas misiones secundarias y buscar la forma de encontrar oro, mejorar nuestro equipo, subir de nivel y elegir correctamente nuestras habilidades.
➤ Las misiones secundarias es lo mejor que podemos hacer, y sobre todo también centrarnos en hacer contratos de brujo, con los cuales podremos ganar mucho oro e incluso podemos negociar la cantidad de oro que querramos y también son muy divertidos, porque viviremos la esencia de lo que es ser un brujo, acabar con monstruos enormes siempre es un reto difícil. Aunque hay que tener cuidado y revisar siempre el nivel necesario para cada contrato, es algo extraño pero es que yo siendo nivel 5 acepté un contrato que era para nivel 24, intenté hacerlo sin fijarme y bueno, no salió nada bien. Hay contratos al inicio que realmente son bastante difíciles y con el equipo básico no podremos hacerlo, así que lo mejor será explorar en busca de nuevo equipo.
➤ Por todo el inmenso mapa que podremos recorrer encontraremos muchos puntos desconocidos que explorar, podemos encontrar tesoros perdidos, algunos resguardados por monstruos y también ciertos campamentos de bandidos que a veces suelen tener buen equipamiento guardados. Lo mejor es siempre intentar encontrar tesoros que no estén resguardados o los que están en el fondo del mar, siempre dan buenas recompensas y objetos catalogados como "reliquias" con estadisticas superiores a todos los demás y con muchos huecos de implementación de runas. Y es que al igual que en The Witcher 2 podremos colocar runas en nuestras armas que nos den bonificaciones como mas daño, congelar o quemar a los enemigos, provocarles hemorragias y mucho más. Cada objeto puede tener una ranura, o dos o tres, dependiendo de la rareza del objeto. Precisamente por esto es que explorar se vuelve una parte fundamental del juego.
➤ Por supuesto también podremos encontrar pergaminos de creación que nos permitirán forjar equipamiento mucho más avanzado o que no podremos encontrar fácilmente, y para esto necesitaremos la ayuda de los herreros y de varios objetos en específico que podremos comprarles o buscarlo por nuestra cuenta, y tal vez así ahorrar dinero en crear algo. Esta también es una opción muy buena que nos permitirá mejorar muchísimo nuestro equipamiento, y por cierto, algo fundamental que quiero recomendar es comprar una nueva espada de plata apenas sea posible, creanme que es muy necesario para poder realizar los contratos con mucha más facilidad y que los monstruos no nos descuarticen. Algo también quiero mencionar es que tal vez se me haga tan difícil porque comencé el juego en una alta dificultad, pero siento que eso es lo que le da toda la esencia y lo que me permite explorar mucho más allá de lo común.
➤ La verdad es que soy fanático de este nivel de dificultad desde el inicio, es una forma de hacer el juego mucho más completo, explorarlo y centrarnos en elegir bien cada decisión, cada compra, cada objeto, cada nivel y qué habilidad deseamos elevar.
