➤ Have you ever thought about what are those details, those features or that specific type of gameplay that for us, in our most personal opinion, regardless of whether for others it is good or not, makes us like something? And in this case, we are talking about games, well, probably yes you have thought about it, probably no, and probably you just go around playing anything because you like to try everything or you reserve yourself to some specific genre of video games because you don't like the others, each person is different, and that's what this is about. But today I want to talk about what for me is what can make me like a game.
➤ At this stage of my life, I'm at a point where there are very few things I play, so right now for me the most fun has been multiplayer video games, whether it's a shooter, survival or anything that you can play with friends and have an amazing time, in a way they are also for me the most enjoyable in general, I can enjoy a game much more this way than playing something completely alone. Still my biggest vice has always been CSGO but there are also other games that took stages of my life like Don't Starve, The Forest and even Brawlhalla that I practically have a lot of hours in there and I could never finish becoming a good player. But none of this means that any multiplayer game is good, to me they become fun if they are games where no matter how much you play, they will always feel dynamic, different or there will be something new to do, or it will feel fun so you play it over and over again. Because playing something where you just do the same thing over and over again without it feeling innovative, in the end it ends up boring, and that's what has made me abandon many series, because sometimes it either takes dedication, or it takes the game to get you much more hooked.
➤ For me multiplayer video games are in a strong point in my top and are the ones that most attract my attention, especially if you have a good group of friends to play them, but this does not detract at all merit to single player games or where a group of friends is not necessary, such as an MMORPG, that although we can perfectly play it alone and get people along the way, also end up being more fun playing with friends.
➤ For me to love a game it has to have a reason, that is, a story, a detail, something, anything that makes me want to get hooked to play for the curiosity that generates me to know what comes after every second that passes while I play, I do not like to play things that feel empty, and my best example to explain this may be the survival games, which for the most part, are empty games with only one goal, to survive. And that's why The Forest for me is the biggest difference to this, because it's a game with a captivating backstory that motivates you to keep exploring. And that's what I look for, a game capable of surprising me, a game capable of capturing my curiosity as much as it can and this really is something that any game can achieve, no matter the genre, it has happened to me with open world games, survival games, shooters and even metroidvanias like Hollow Knight. And I'm not even a fan of metroidvania.
➤ In a way the story that the game has, is what catches my attention the most, the quality of the story and the development it has, how good it has to be to keep me playing and wanting to know what happens. In a way I consider the story only a little bit more important than for example the gameplay, when it comes to single player games. Obviously good gameplay is also key to keep us active in a game and can even be the main reason to play it, like hack n slash games where gameplay is predominant because of how fun and action-packed they are. But in another case there are games with not so exploited gameplay but with incredible stories, as for me are the case of God of War 4 and The Witcher 3. Although I liked the gameplay of both, especially The Witcher 3 that I loved, the gameplay of GoW did not convince me, but the story they have in between makes it impossible not to want to play them, because they are incredible. They are two resources that complement each other but when one stands out more than the other, it can go well or very badly. But as for me, I prefer the story more. That's why there are people who love things like turn-based games, which in fact for me seem horrible, but I understand why they like them since they usually have great stories, but for me a gameplay that I find boring.
➤ I consider myself simple in all these aspects, and I can really like any game as long as it's fun, but I want to love it, it has to be really captivating to get me hooked for hours, to make me want to complete it and feel the real fun. ➤ ¿Nunca se han puesto a pensar en cuáles son esos detalles, esas características o ese tipo de jugabilidad en específico que para nosotros, en nuestra opinión más personal, independientemente de si para los demás sea buena o no, hace que algo nos guste? Y en este caso, hablamos de los juegos, bueno, probablemente sí lo han pensado, probablemente no, y probablemente solo vayan jugando cualquier cosa porque les gusta probar de todo o se reservan a algún género de videojuegos en específico porque no les gustan los demás, cada persona es distinta, y de eso trata esto. Pero hoy quiero hablar de lo que para mí es lo que puede hacer que un juego me guste.
➤ En esta etapa de mi vida, estoy en un punto donde son muy pocas las cosas que juego, así que justo ahora para mí lo más divertido han sido los videojuegos multijugador, sea un shooter, sea de supervivencia o cualquiera que puedas jugar con amigos y pasar un momento increíble, de cierta forma son también para mí lo más disfrutable en general, puedo disfrutar mucho más un juego de esta forma que jugando algo completamente solo. Aún así mi mayor vicio siempre ha sido CSGO pero también hay otros juegos que tomaron etapas de mi vida como Don't Starve, The Forest e incluso Brawlhalla que prácticamente tengo un montón de horas ahí y nunca pude terminar de convertirme en un buen jugador. Pero nada de esto significa que cualquier juego multijugador sea bueno, para mí se vuelven divertidos si son juegos donde no importa por más que juegues, siempre se sentirán dinámicos, distintos o habrá algo nuevo que hacer, o se sentirá divertido así lo juegues una y otra vez. Porque jugar algo donde solo haces lo mismo una y otra vez sin que se sienta innovador, al final termina aburriendo, y eso es lo que ha hecho que abandone muchas series, porque a veces o hace falta dedicación, o hace falta que el juego llegue a engancharte mucho más.
➤ Para mí los videojuegos multijugador están en un punto fuerte en mi top y son los que más llaman mi atención, sobre todo si tienes un buen grupo de amigos para jugarlos, pero esto no quita para nada merito a los juegos de un solo jugador o donde no es necesario un grupo de amigos, como por ejemplo un MMORPG, que aunque perfectamente podemos jugarlo solo y conseguir gente en el camino, también terminan siendo más divertidos jugando con amigos.
➤ Para que un juego me encante tiene que tener un motivo, es decir, una historia, un detalle, algo, cualquier cosa que me haga querer engancharme a jugar por la curiosidad que me genera saber que viene después de cada segundo que transcurra mientras juego, no me gusta jugar cosas que se sientan vacías, y mi mejor ejemplo para explicar esto pueden ser los juegos de supervivencia, los cuales en su mayoria, son juegos vacíos con un único objetivo, sobrevivir. Y por eso The Forest para mí es la mayor diferencia a esto, ya que es un juego con una historia cautivadora de fondo que te motiva a seguir explorando. Y eso es lo que yo busco, un juego capaz de sorprenderme, un juego capaz de captar mi curiosidad lo máximo que pueda y esto realmente es algo que cualquier juego puede lograr, sin importar el género, me ha pasado con juegos de mundo abierto, de supervivencia, shooters e incluso hasta metroidvanias como Hollow Knight. Y eso que ni siquiera soy fan de los metroidvania.
➤ De cierta forma la historia que tenga el juego, es lo que más llama mi atención, la calidad de historia que tiene de por medio y el desarrollo que tiene, lo buena que tiene que ser para mantenerme jugando y queriendo saber que pasa. De cierta forma la historia la considero solo un poco más importante que por ejemplo la jugabilidad, cuando de juegos de un solo jugador se trata. Obviamente una buena jugabilidad también es clave para mantenernos activos en un juego e incluso puede ser el principal motivo para jugarlo, como los hack n slash donde la jugabilidad predomina por lo divertida y lo llena de acción que están. Pero en otro caso hay juegos con jugabilidades no tan explotadas pero con historias increíbles, como para mí son el caso de God of War 4 y The Witcher 3. Aunque la jugabilidad de ambos me gustó bastante, sobre todo la del The Witcher 3 que me encantó, la del GoW no me terminó de convencer, pero la historia que tienen de por medio hace que sea imposible no querer jugarlos, porque son increíbles. Son dos recursos que se complementan pero cuando uno sobresale más que el otro, puede salir bien o muy mal. Pero en cuanto a mí, prefiero más la historia. Por eso es que hay gente que le encantan cosas como los juegos por turno, que de hecho para mí me parecen horribles, pero comprendo por qué les gustan ya que suelen tener historias geniales, pero para mí una jugabilidad que me parece aburrida.
➤ Me considero simple en todos estos aspectos, y es que realmente cualquier juego puede llegar a gustarme mientras sea divertido, pero sí quiero que me encante, tiene que ser realmente cautivador como para lograr viciarme durante horas, tener ganas de completarlo y sentir la verdadera diversión.
