The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

Introduction
Am not the type of person who plays a lot of games. I grew up watching my older brother playing Triple A games, and that's why i know most of them like i've played them myself.
But there's a game that i've played a lot, exactly 321.7 hours. And that's The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, and obviusly with the many DLCs, let's talk about it.
What is The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth?
Genre, History and Context
The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth it's a Rogue-Like game, and like the name implies it's reborn, ¿why?, The Binding of Isaac was a game developed by Edmund McMillen (the creator of the famous platform game Super Meat Boy and other recent games like The End is Nigh and The Legend of Bum-bo), and it was programmed in Flash, yup like a web game. It looked like this:
Not that bad actually, but it was pretty bad optimized, at the time i played this game (recommended by my brother, he knew i like this type of games), but i had a old laptop and was getting like 15 fps, frustrating to say the least.
So then i was scrolling down Youtube and watch a gameplay of The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth this new remake developed by Nicalis and Directed by Edmund McMillen, programmed in C++, a game with new items, new rooms, new bosses, new soundtrack and infinite possibillities.
Edmund wanted to make a better game, he wanted to add more stuff but with flash wasn't possible, so this game was born and it's simply one of the best Rogue-Like games.
The Bindig of Isaac, like the games of the Rogue-Like genre it's a procedural game (random inside parameters), has random items, rooms, enemies and bosses. You have to defeat the enemies and complete the floors to keep getting down the levels, it keeps getting more difficult and you should keep getting powerful (or not).
The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth has 2 DLCs Afterbith and Afterbith +, the DLCs add items, enemies, new rooms, new combinations, new voices, more new soundtrack, basicly new everything, here's some numbers:

With this numerous items and enemies you can do the math of how many combinations it has. On top of that the game actually has something they called "Booster Packs", Nicalis and Edmund developed a Mod Tool for the community, so you cand make your own Mod with that tool and upload that to the Steam Workshop, then they took the best mods and include them to the original game!. That's pretty cool or what?.
And on top of that they are developing a new DLC, for 2020-21. Nicalis and Edmund not only created a great game by itself, they maked a community supported game with proper Modding tools because they know how to keep the game alive after they stop to develop the project.
The Game
Yes, a lot of numbers a lot of history, but is the game any good?.
For me it's a great game, but i have played 300 hours, have to say it's a pretty difficult and frustrating game to get started. I think it's pretty much like every Rogue-Like or any skill-based game, you need to get used to movements and enemies.
The game can be played with keyboard or control (i use keyboard because it's the way i learned how to play), the main movement (A ,W, S, D) to control the character and the arrows to control the projectiles, the main character shoots tears, then active items like Bombs (E), Main Active Item (Space) and Cards or Runes (Q), also the passive items like Main Items (those who boost stats or give you a sort of upgrade), keys, coins and trinkets (passive items that gives you some sort of benefit)
I know it sounds complicated but the it's like any other game of the same style.
The possibilities, i've already say this, i know but bear me for a second. Many Rogue-Like games have this way of giving you the items:
- You take the item and get an upgrade.
- You have another item and upgrade again and have some synergy.
- You look pretty fucking cool shooting and killing with some powers or guns.
That does not happen with Isaac, you maybe getting an Item, but the game does not tell you what the item does, so you have to figure it out or get a guide (Use this web for all the info about Isaac), and you are not going to look pretty, the items give Isaac an awful look and the most you play most you know which items are good or not depending on what you want or which other item you already have.

And to keep talking about possibilities, you obviusly have the option of breaking the game... Yup, you can break the game. How's that?. Welp, if you have certain items within certain scenarios you can keep generating items and items until the game breaks because it runs out of items to generate, and then you are probably a God, and make something like this:
The Characters
The main character it's Isaac (almost all the characters have Biblical names), then you have in the main game Magdalene, Cain, Judas, Eve, Samson, Azazel, Lazarus, Eden, ??? and The Lost. Aditional in DLCS are Lillith, Apollyon, The Keeper and the Forgotten.
Every and Each character has a different type of way to play the game, benefits or different projectiles, i always recommend playing Isaac, and then Azazel.

The characters have to be unlocked by getting some achievements in the game, defeating specific bosses will unlock new characters, if you start the game will look something like this:
Conclution
The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth it's an amazing game, if you like rogue-like games this is one the greatest out there, i recommend giving it a try, it's constantly in discount on steam and with all the DLCs it's not even that expensive.
You'll rage, but you will have fun, i guarantee. I have 320 hours and i have yet to complete the game, 327/403 achievements and i'll keep playing until getting all of them.

No soy de las personas que juega muchos juegos, crecí viendo a mi hermano mayor jugando juegos Triple A, y por eso los conozco como si los hubiese jugado.

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth es juego Rogue-like, y como su nombre lo implica está Renacido (Reborn-Rebirth) ¿por qué?, The Binding of Isaac es un juego desarrollado pr Edmund McMillen (el mismo creador del famoso juego de plataforma Super Meat Boy y otros recientes como The End is Nigh y The Legend of Bum-bo), y fue un juego desarrollado en flash, si, como un juego de Web, se veía tal que así:
Nada mal realmente, pero estaba muy mal optimizado, en el momento que lo jugué (recomendado por mi hermano, que sabe que me gustan éste tipo de juegos), tenía una laptop y me daba como 15 fps, frustrante sinceramente.
Tiempo después estaba visitando Youtube y me encontré con un gameplay "The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth" un nuevo remake desarollado por Nicalis y dirigido por Edmund McMillen, programado en C++, un nuevo juego con nuevos items, habitaciones, jefes, soundtrack e infinitas posibilidades.
Edmund quería hacer un mejor juego, quería añadir más, pero en flash no era posible, así que nació éste juego que es simplemente uno de los mejores Rogue-Like.
The Binding of Isaac, como otros juegos Rogue-Like es procedural (aleatorio dentro de parámetros), tiene objetos aleatorios, enemigos y jefes. Tienes que derrotar a los enemigos para completar un nivel y seguir bajando, se hace mas difícil y deberías hacerte más poderoso (o no).
The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth tiene 2 DLCs, Afterbirth y Afterbirth +, los DLCs añaden objetos, enemigos, habitaciones, nuevas combinaciones, nuevas voces, otro soundtrack, básicamente nuevo todo, aquí algunos números de comparación:

Con éste numerosos items y enemigos, podrás hacer las matemáticas de las posibles combinaciones que tendrá. Encima de eso el juego tiene algo llamado "Booster Packs", Nicales y Edmund desarollaron una Herramienta de Modificación (Mod Tool) para la comunidad, puedes hacer tu propio Mod con la herramienta y subirlo al Workshop de Steam, luego tomaron los mejores mods y los incluyeron al juego original, no es por nada pero eso está muy bien.
Y además están desarollando un nuevo DLC para 2020-21, Nicalis y Edmund no solo crearon un grandioso jugo como tal, crearon un jugo que puede ser apoyado por la comunidad con una herramienta de modeo Nativa y Propia porque saben como hay que mantener el juego vivo y a flote luego de que concluyan el desarrollo.
El Juego
Si, muchos números e historia, pero, ¿es bueno el juego?.
Para mi es un grandioso jugo, pero claro, he jugado 300 horas. Tengo que decir que es un juego difícil y frustrante para empezar a jugar. Creo que es como cualquier otro juego de Rogue-Like o cualquier juego basado en cierta habilidad, necesitas acostumbrarte a los movimientos y a los enemigos.
El juego se puede jugar con teclado (como yo que aprendí a jugar así) o mando/control. El movimiento principal (A, W, S, D) para controlar el personaje, luego las flechas para los proyectiles, el personaje dispara lágrimas, luego objetos activos como Bombas (E), Items Principales Activos (Espacio), y Cartas o Runas (Q), también los objetos pasivos como Objetos Principales (aquellos que te encuentras en salas de Objetos que te dan estadístivas o alguna ventaja pasiva), llaves, monedas y trinkets (items pasivos de menor medida que te dan algún beneficio).
Sé que suena complicado pero es como cualquier otro juego del mismo estilo.
Las posibilidades, sé que ya he dicho ésto, pero sopórtame un segundo, Muchos juegos Rogue-Like funcionan de ésta manera:
- Te dan un objeto que da una ventaja.
- Te dan otro objeto y/o ventaja y te da alguna sinergia.
- Luces increíble mientras disparas con poderes o armas.
Eso no sucede en Isaac, puedes obtener un objeto, pero el juego no te dice lo que hacen los items, así que tienes que descubrirlo o verlo en una guía (Recomiendo ésta para cualquier info de Isaac), y no te verás bonito, los objetos dan un aspecto horrible a Isaac, y mientras más juegues más sabrás que items son bueno dependiendo de lo que quieras o que objetos tienes.
Isaac con Objetos / Isaac sin Objetos
Y para seguir hablando de posibilidades, obviamente tienes la opción de romper el juego, sí así como lo lees, ¿Cómo funciona ésto?. Bueno, si tienes ciertos objetos en ciertas situaciones puedes generar y generar objetos hasta que el juego se rompe y se queda sin objetos para generar y para ese punto probablemente seas un dios y se vea así:
Los Personajes
El Personaje principal es Isaac (casi todos los personajes tienen nombres bíblicos, luego en el juego principal tienes a Magdalene, Cain, Judas, Eve, Samson, Azazel, Lazarus, Eden, ??? y The Lost, adicional en DLCs son are Lillith, Apollyon, The Keeper y The Forgotten.
Cada uno de los personajes tienen maneras diferentes de ser jugados, beneficios o diferentes proyectiles, siempre recomiendo empezar con Isaac y luego Azazel.

Los personajes tienen que ser desbloqueados obteniendo logros en el juego, derrotando jefes específicos desbloqueará nuevos personajes, si inicias el juego se verá tal que así:
Conclusión
The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth es un juego increíble, si te gustan éste tipo de juegos de los mejores allá afuera, recomiendo que le den una oportunidad, está constantemente en descuento en steam y con todos los DLCs ni siquiera es tan caro.
Te molestarás, pero te divertirás, te lo aseguro. Tengo 320 horas jugadas y todavía no lo he completado tengo 327 de 403 logros y seguiré jugando hasta compltarlo.
