I was just like any other day doing some shopping on Amazon, looking at other things I had on my wish list and also digging through some deals when I noticed something weird with my Prime subscription.
Amazon Prime is a pretty complete service that covers several points, it costs $14.99 a month which doesn't make me so much noise as it offers from a full streaming service with a catalog that for my tastes is decent plus the basic benefits in shipping, discounts and coupons on the Amazon website, but there is also that old forgotten one that is a no cost extra to our subscription and that I have been ignoring for all my stay in Prime.
Amazon Prime Gaming is the version of Xbox's Games With Gold or Epic's free games, but in Amazon and only with our main Prime subscription, they give us a catalog of games every month so we can redeem them and add them to our library forever. It sounds funny and that's it but in recent months this add-on has given us something to talk about, because at the end of the day what counts are the titles and this service with what it has has convinced me to keep an eye on it from time to time.
There is everything on the main page of Prime Gaming, from coins that we can claim for some multiplayer game like FIFA or Call Of Duty to customizable or objects that are changing week after week, and the last thing we have the games that follow the same pattern of always giving away some heavyweight and other indies or you have not heard of in your life as filler, these games are claimed with a code that gives us Amazon that we have to redeem on the platform that we get the game.
That means we'll have to download useless launchers like GOG or Ubisoft+ to claim them, but I'll take it because free games.
Reviewing the history of free codes that Prime Gaming has I find some pretty modern games, Tomb Raider, Fallout 76 or available right now The Middle Earth: Shadow Of War, games that maybe I would not buy even with a discount but now become part of my beautiful library of games.
I check every now and then the games that are on their main page, they are always updating most of the stuff on it, plus also if you don't want to spend the 14.99$ that the monthly subscription costs you can always opt for the 30 days free trial, remember that you are not only paying for the Prime Gaming service but for the whole set that amazon offers, that's the only reason why I recommend to try it, quantity and quality.
I have to say that Amazon has this strange goal of releasing a launcher for their games, I tried to download it but for some reason my PC goes crazy every time I try to navigate through this desktop application, checking the values I noticed that the temperature rises quite a lot and spends resources in an unusual way, so I recommend to stay away from this and redeem only the codes that they give you on the main page.
I don't know how I could categorize this post... recommendation? maybe, Prime Gaming has been quite unnoticed or at least in my circle of friends I have not heard anything about it, so I leave this information here and I hope someone can use it to try some amazing games.
