I am a big fan of this series, though many overlook IW. The second game in the series they learned what worked well in the first Deus Ex and was did not and mostly applied that to the next game. Starting off a new game I exit the academy and start free roaming this part of the game. You can go between areas of the city and find missions, items and secret areas.
One of my favorite things to do is find ways to have other people fight my battles. In this case some thugs wanted money from me, but I ran away and into some guards that quickly took them out. Since its early on in the game it would be pretty difficult but not when you find creative ways to solve the problems.
Going into a cafe I find myself listening into the conversation going on. And I quickly realize there is now a mission I can do.
Seems I did not get all the thugs killed, so I got them to follow me and the guards handled the rest.
Found my way underground and did a mission to turn a bot back on.
Had to cross through areas that lowered my health but once I found the bot I activated it. The repair bot went over to the the air scrubber and repaired it. That made the area safe to walk around in.
Found some vents to climb into, that is a big part of this game. Finding ways into areas restricted otherwise. You can mostly hack doors or use lock picks, but alot of times there is a vent you can climb through to get there as well.
A ledge separates me from some loot, so I have to carefully walk around to get to it. I fell the first time and had to reload the game.
After finishing that mission I head to the club Vox and see if I can get myself into some trouble. I hit a guard with the dart gun and everyone quickly starts attacking me.
Yeah that did not work out well, glad I quick saved before trying silly things.
Sneaking around I got to a laser protected area. Knocking a barrel into it set off the alarms.
Inside the room there was many items like credits, a shotgun and some ammo to go with it all.
The game has alien themes in it, a few times you interact with Grays. This time it was sealed in a container.
You can talk with a hologram, and snitch using it. Or you can keep the secret. I turned Omar in.
One of those robed figures was waiting for me, so I used one of my augmentations and summoned a drone to fight for me.
After the fight is over I toss the body over the ledge, and seems the guards and civilians below here not happy about that.
Found another vent to climb into and had to fight a robotic spider.
This mission I take out someone looking to buy weapons.
After talking I quickly kill him with my shotgun.
More laser protection, this time gold beams. I tested them out with a dead body, yep thats no good. These are the killing kind of lasers not the alarm kind. I have to find a way to turn them off.
