Greetings to the Hive Gaming community. I've been looking for a while to share more about games, and fortunately, I came across this recommendation about this particular and very interesting game called Morimens.
Morimens is a game set in the Lovecraft universe. It's a turn-based combat RPG. Developed and published by B.I.A.V. Studios, it entered the video game market in August 2024. The game features AI language translation.
Morimens is a hidden gem; not much is talked about this game, which is truly a shame. The game's story is beautifully crafted, based on Lovecraft's cosmic horror myths.
In the game, we advance as detectives, uncovering the plot, the relationships between the characters, and their personal development as the various events unfold.
The characters have a design that might be reminiscent of another game I shared with you previously, Reverse 1999.
But we're in the universe of cosmic horror, so the differences won't be difficult to notice.
The game's story takes place in a Victorian-style world plagued by a phenomenon called Dissolution.
Dissolution is a phenomenon that occurs through cracks, which contaminate areas and contaminate living creatures, erasing them from existence as if they had never existed and creating creatures that are invisible to most people.
Humans receive superior aid and create a technology that uses soul fragments of dissolved people, which have been converted into a mineral like silver.
With this technology, they are able to bring powerful people or entities to life, who will be our playable characters.
During the game, we'll explore a grid map, where we'll have areas with different benefits or penalties. Depending on the situation, we can avoid entering them or we'll be forced to enter them.
Personally, I enjoy exploring the entire map. Some penalties have hidden benefits for combat that outweigh the negatives.
Let's get to the real deal: combat:
This game's turn-based card-based combat system differs from other similar games. For each area you enter, at the end of combat, you can assign a benefit to a random card. In some other areas, you'll be assigned a penalty to your card deck.
You can also accumulate random relics obtained during an event.
Or relics purchased from the map shop.
So you'll always have a deck of cards with different additional characteristics on each mission run.
The card may eventually change and gain a shield, or more damage, an extra turn, or more energy for the special attack.
Keep in mind that there are four factions, and each faction plays differently. I clarify that teams can only be formed between characters from any two factions.
I prefer and always recommend using and combining teams with the marine tentacle faction.
The tentacles always attack at the end of the turn in their basic mode. Changing the option in battle can give them a shield, but it depends on the player's preference. It's an independent action and doesn't consume resources.
The Chaos faction gains energy much faster than the other factions and are the starting characters, but they work very well.
The Caro faction (the vampires) grows stronger when their health is low, so you have to keep an eye on their health. (This is a common life limit for all characters.)
The faction I consider the strongest, and the one that's a bit more complicated to use, is the Ultra.
Each first card used each round accumulates in the five purple squares above the characters. When the five purple squares are filled, the Ultra team gains an additional turn, which, if executed well, can end the fight in two turns or less.
There are many elements that can make each fight vary, and one of the most significant influences is the characters' weapons, which in this game are called "Wheels of Fate."
Each character can equip up to two Wheels of Fate, and they aren't exclusive weapons. Each Wheel can be equipped on another character, so you'll need to be careful about which character you're equipping to avoid placing a powerful but useless Wheel.
Finally, characters are obtained in a gacha of thirty summons. Every thirty summons gives an SSR, and the pity is 90 summons.
Summons can be single or in groups of five.
Being a gacha game, if you're in a hurry to get a character, the game may offer you a character selector in a sale.
But the game also gives you free character selectors, just keep playing.
I've played for about 40 hours, and getting characters and their weapons is very convenient. The game gives you the resources to get the characters, and so far I've found two character selectors, where you can choose any character that isn't a limited edition.
There's a beginner banner, which can be repeated continuously until you get an SSR you like. It can't be saved, so it's best to check a tier list before activating the banner; the selection can't be saved.
I chose Caucus from the free newbie picker banner, getting him on the fortieth try, but don't activate the initial free banner without checking out the character list.
There's a lot more to say about this game, but it's best to discover it for yourself. If you have a moment, it's worth trying. The game is on Steam, or you can get it on the Google Play store for mobile.

Morimens es un juego ambientado en el universo de Lovecraft, es un juego rpg de combate por turnos. Este juego fue desarrollado y editado por la gente de B.I.A.V. estudios, entro al mercado de los videojuegos en el mes de agosto del año 2024. El juego cuenta con una traducción de idioma por IA.
Morimens es una joya oculta, no se habla mucho sobre este juego, lo que realmente es una pena. La historia del juego, está muy bien lograda basándose en los mitos del terror cósmico de Lovecraft.
En el juego, vamos avanzando como detectives, descubriendo la trama, las relaciones entre los personajes y su evolución personal mientras se desarrollan los diferentes eventos.
Los personajes tienen un diseño que puede llegar a recordar a otro juego del que les compartí anteriormente, el Reverse 1999.
Pero estamos en el universo del terror cósmico, por lo que las diferencias no serán difíciles de notar.
La historia del juego se desarrolla en un mundo de apariencia Victoriana, azotado por un fenómeno llamado: La disolución.
La disolución es un fenómeno que se presenta a través de grietas, que contaminan zonas y criaturas vivas, borrándolas de la existencia como si no hubiesen existido y creando criaturas que resultan invisibles a la mayoría de las personas.
Los seres humanos reciben ayuda superior y crean una tecnología que usa fragmentos de almas de personas disueltas, que fueron convertidas en un mineral como la plata.
Con esa tecnología logran traer a la vida a personas o entidades poderosas, que serán nuestros personajes jugables.
Durante el juego recorreremos un mapa de cuadrículas, donde tendremos zonas con diferentes beneficios o penalidades, donde dependiendo de la situación podremos evitar entrar o adonde tendremos que entrar obligatoriamente.
En lo personal, me gusta recorrer todo el contenido del mapa, algunas penalidades, tiene beneficios ocultos para el combate que superan lo negativo.
Entremos a lo bueno, el combate:
El sistema de combate por turnos con cartas de este juego tiene ciertas diferencias con otros juegos similares, ya que por cada zona en que se entre, al final del combate, puedes asignar un beneficio a una carta al azar, y en otras zonas en que entres, te asignaran una penalidad al mazo de cartas.
También se pueden ir acumulando reliquias aleatorias obtenidas en un evento.
O reliquias compradas en la tienda del mapa.
Por lo que siempre tendrás un mazo de cartas con características adicionales diferentes en cada recorrido de misión.
La carta puede terminar por cambiar y tener escudo, o más daño, un turno adicional, o más energía para el ataque especial.
Hay que tomar en cuenta que son cuatro facciones, y en cada facción se juega de forma diferente. Aclaro que solo se puede hacer equipos entre personajes de dos facciones.
Yo prefiero y recomiendo siempre usar y combinar los equipos con la facción marina de los tentáculos.
Los tentáculos atacan siempre al final del turno en su modo por básico, cambiando la opción en batalla puedes hacer que te den escudo, pero depende del gusto del jugador. Es una acción independiente y no consume recursos.
La facción del Caos ganan energía mucho más rápido que las demás facciones y son los personajes iniciales, pero funcionan muy bien.
La facción Caro (los vampiros), se hacen más fuertes cuando su vida se reduce, hay que jugar pendiente de la vida. (es un límite de vida común para todos los personajes)
La facción que considero la más fuerte y la que es un poco más complicada de usar son los Ultra.
Cada primera carta usada de cada ronda se acumula en los cinco recuadros morados sobre los personajes, al llenarse los cinco cuadrados morados, el equipo Ultra obtienen un turno adicional, que si es bien ejecutado, en dos turnos o menos puedes terminar el combate.
Son muchos elementos que pueden hacer que cada combate varíe y uno de los que puede influir con mucha fuerza son las armas de los personajes, que en este juego son llamadas "Ruedas del destino".
Cada personaje puede equipar hasta dos ruedas del destino y no son armas exclusivas, cada rueda de un personaje se puede equipar en otro, por lo que hay que leer bien qué personaje se está equipando para no colocar una rueda poderosa pero inútil.
Para finalizar, los personajes se consiguen en un gacha de treinta invocaciones, cada treinta invocaciones se consigue un SSR y el pity es de 90 invocaciones.
Las invocaciones pueden ser individuales o de cinco en cinco invocaciones.
Siendo un juego gacha, si tienes prisa por tener un personaje, el juego te puede ofrecer un selector de personaje en alguna oferta.
Pero también el juego te regala gratis selectores de personaje, solo tienes que ir jugando.
Tengo unas cuarenta horas de juego y sacar personajes y sus armas me resulta muy cómodo, el juego te va regalando los recursos para conseguir los personajes y hasta ahora obtuve dos selectores de personajes, en que se puede escoger cualquier personajes que no sea de edición limitada.
Hay un banner de principiante, que puede repetirse continuamente hasta sacar un SSR a gusto, no puede guardarse, así que es mejor que revisen una tier list, antes de activar el banner, no se puede guardar la selección.
Yo elegí a Caucus en el banner de selección gratuito de novatos, lo conseguí a la ronda cuarenta, pero no activen el banner gratuito inicial, sin haber revisado una lista de personajes.
Hay muchas cosas más por decir de este juego, pero es mejor que las descubran por sí mismos, si tiene un momento vale la pena probarlo, el juego está en el Steam, o puedes conseguirlo en la tienda de Google para teléfonos móviles.
