Hi gamers and game lovers, welcome to my blog, and it is nice to have you here. I know it has been two days since my last game post, which goes against my plan of writing daily on Hive. Well, I can say much to defend my action, but I only blame it on work. I have been super busy with work, and now I am even sourcing more design gigs to meet up with my monthly bills. The inflation is becoming deadly on my end.
With that I said, I discovered that I have been playing only Google's Play Games on my PC, totally forgetting there is another game store on my Windows laptop, which happens to be the Xbox Game Store. So I decided to check it out and see what games I've been missing out on for a while now. To my fullest of my surprise, I discovered the store has loads of games like Minecraft, Battleground, Cyberpunk, Apex Legends, and all kinds of games that can be played on an Xbox. But being tight on a budget at the moment, I decided to look for the free games available.
I came across a different kind of EA Football game, which has Messi as its cover, but I was unsure if it was good, and I wasn't in the mood to take that risk. So the search continued until I finally came across Asphalt Legend. The game was free, and to some extent, I think it was already downloaded for me; all I had to do was install.
Then what was I waiting for? I got cracking. The game took approximately an hour and a half to install, which I guess is due to its high graphics and drift action. Hey, that's just my opinion. After the download, it was time to play. I knew the playing experience wasn't going to be all smooth for me since I am a gamepad player, and now I have to use my keyboard. I took some time to adjust at first for about 10 minutes, and thankfully, the game was completely user-friendly with the instructions and controls.
What I found weird is how I got a Lamborghini during the training, but I was given an old Vin Diesel Mitsubishi to ride with during the race. Oh, such a gaming tactic, get the user hooked, then take the good cars back, only to include them in the mission for unlocking.
I guess it is time to race. The first mission got me racing 6 cars with the instruction, finish top 3. Obviously, you know that I wouldn't stand a chance, given that it was my first race. I boldly came in last in flying colours and with no shame. The keyboard is still new to me, and I am not going to fight it at all. I guess if I continue gaming with my PC, I should consider getting an Xbox wireless pad or a computer gamepad.
It was nice to see that moving fast still came with its thrill and excitement, and I would not try to deny it, but it felt really good jumping over a speed bump and crashing into buildings. It has been a while since I felt like a Vin Diesel in a Fast and Furious movie. That was fun.
That's it for now; let me get back to playing the game. I don't think I'll stop anytime soon until I come in first place. That's my obsession.
I am @southgamer. Try gaming and thank me later.
