Hello, hivers and game lovers,
Welcome to the blog of @southgamer, where I talk about my gaming experience and anything gaming-related. Today is yet another Sunday and you know the usual. I participate in the Sunday Rento tournament on the Rento game app.
Although there are no real-time cash rewards it's fun to play as I love the game of Monopoly. Through the game, you get to see how capitalism works, greed, and people's desire for more but don't forget it is also about making good use of luck or chance when it smiles at you.
I like to look at chance in the game as a scenario where you get lucky in crypto, but you have to make good use of it to build a fortune. Just imagine with me, you have made 10,000 HP from blogging on Hive and the price of Hive goes to $100, that's $1M in your wallet.
Now how do you use that to build generational wealth, where your grandchildren still benefit from the rewards? That's how I see the game Monopoly. Take advantage of that chance lady luck has bestowed upon you.
Back to the tournament. I wouldn't say last luck wasn't with me because that would be unfair but the cost of building a house was my biggest enemy.
At the start of the game, I got my usual pre-owned lands but this time they were in prime locations. I got lands in the United Kingdom, USA, Dubai, and even Latvia.
These prime locations come with good prices on house rent and hotel expenses for whichever player enters except me the owner. Here is the thing with prime locations, since the house rent and hotel expenses are high, the cost of building these things is costly are well, and the $2000 with get to start the game with isn't enough.
Immediately, I started by offering trades with a player who had Dubai, but that player was stubborn. Constantly refusing all forms of trade. I gave them the USA in exchange for Dubai and yet another no. At this point, I've had enough. Now let's roll with others since there were three more players, making us a total of four.
Luckily I was able to make some pretty good deals and capital to invest in buildings is all that's left. I thought maybe I should mortgage my landed properties in exchange for instant cash I could use to build. But on second thoughts what if I land on another person's property?
Be that as it may, I decided to work with what I have. Only building 3 houses on each land. Luckily for me, I got two clients but the money was small since all I had were houses and not hotels.
Things took a turn for the worse for me after one player got bankrupt and it was my turn to play. My opponents had hotels but I only had houses, what difference I couldn't match.
I ended up being bankrupt when I entered multiple times and my houses were not enough to bring in some revenue in time. I guess the moral of the lesson is to act faster when you have an advantage or in this case, more land, if not you might regret it later on.
I guess until next Sunday again.
See you in the next game.
I am @southgamer. Try gaming and thank me later.
