Today at work was a little bit more hectic than usual. I thought since my previous task was complete, it meant I was free for at least a few more days until the launch of the app. Too sad, I wasn't, as my design lead assigned new tasks with a shorter deadline.
Frankly speaking, I thought today was going to be the day I broke my writing pact of writing daily on Hive since I was stressed out from a day's work, but something exciting happened to me which made me change my mind. I unlocked a new chapter in Tsushima after playing for a short while.
What happened next
While I was having my dinner, I said to myself How long will it take you to unlock a new chapter in the Legend Mode of The Ghost of Tsushima if you decide to play for a short while tonight. From a brief thought to checking out what the outcome will be, given that I told myself I would simply quit after two failures.
If you read my previous write-up on playing the legend mode on Tsushima, here is something I didn't talk about in that write-up. I have been struggling to rescue the monks from the hands of the inhuman army under the curse of the Onibaba. Each time I get close to where the monks are tied up, I get preoccupied with a guard swinging his blade at me while another goes to execute the monk. It is like they want me to be in two places at the same time, the first place where the monk is, and the second place where I have to defeat the guards.
Honestly, at some point I was like shit!!!! These monks should pick up a weapon and defend themselves as well, don't leave all the job to just one man. Yeah, I know it sounds silly since the monks are only NPCs.
The Plan
Finally, in an attempt to cool off from my work stress, I devised a means to achieve two things: defeat the guard and stay close to the monk. To do this, I decided that I was going to sneak up on the guards using the rooftops to locate where the monks are being held. When I discover the location, I will take out the Iyo first, then run straight to the monk and stand by his side, fighting off the guards.
On the Second Attempt
After the first attempt of my plan was a failure, I got pissed but I gave it a second try but this time I stood close to the monks first. With my carefree playing style, it actually worked, and I defeated the guards, Iyos, and rescued the three monks. My excitement could no longer be held back, I even gave a villain smirk, something more like I am a gaming genius. 😆😆😆
Even though completing this chapter and unlocking the next one seemed small, it was the highlight of my day.
See you in the next game.
