For a long time I really want to play this game, I've heard a lot about it, they say it's one of the best metroidvania in history, so this is my experience in the first hour of gameplay, my first impressions I'll leave at the end of the post. It all starts with a cinematic, with what seems to be the awakening of something, I do not know exactly what it is but it's like a rock with 3 objects, these are illuminated for a second, then shows another cinematic in which the main character we control, walking down some stairs, until you reach a point from where we see what appears to be a small village.
Desde hace mucho tiempo tengo muchas ganas de jugar a este juego, he oído bastante de él, dicen que es uno de los metroidvania de la historia, así que esta es mi experiencia en las primera hora de juego,mis primeras impresiones las dejaré al final del post. Todo comienza con una cinemática, con lo que parece ser el despertar de algo, no sé exactamente que es pero es como una roca con 3 objetos, estos se iluminan por un segundo, acto seguido, muestra otra cinemática en la que sale el personaje principal que controlamos, caminando por unas escaleras, hasta llegar a un punto desde donde divisamos lo que parece ser un pequeño poblado.
It is here when the gameplay starts, we fall from the place where we were in the cinematic, the game only gives us a path, the path to the right, but if we hit the wall on the left, the wall will disappear, it is a false wall and behind it there is a rock that when I hit it gave me what seems to be the coin of the game, then I continued to the right, breaking the doors to advance and eliminating some enemies while advancing, while all this happens, the credits are shown, where they name the whole team that was behind this game.
Es acá cuando empieza el gameplay, caemos desde el lugar en el que estábamos en la cinemática, el juego solo nos da un caminos, el camino de la derecha, pero si golpeamos la pared de la izquierda, la pared desaparecerá, es una pared falsa y detrás de ella hay una roca que al golpearla me dio lo que parece ser la moneda del juego, luego seguí hacia la derecha, rompiendo las puertas para avanzar y eliminando algunos enemigos mientras avanzaba, mientras pasa todo esto, se muestran los créditos, donde nombran a todo el equipo que estuvo detrás de este juego.
Luego de cruzar esas puertas me encontré con unas plataformas, decidí subirlas, salté hasta llegar lo más arriba que pude, seguí un camino hacia la izquierda y encontré un objeto grande que me explica la mecánica para curarme, golpeando a enemigos obtengo ALMA, y con la cantidad suficientes de ALMA puedo utilizarlas para curarme, seguí subiendo hasta llegar a lo que parece ser un huevo azul, rodeado de plantas con forma de mariposas azules, lo destruí y soltó muchos caracoles, que al matarlos expandieron mi barra de salud, pero solo es temporal, una vez que pierda esa parte de salud, no volveré a recuperarla.
After crossing those doors I found some platforms, I decided to climb them, I jumped until I got as high as I could, I followed a path to the left and I found a big object that explained me the mechanics to heal myself, hitting enemies I get SOULS, and with enough SOULS I can use them to heal myself, I kept going up until I reached what seems to be a blue egg, surrounded by plants in the shape of blue butterflies, I destroyed it and it released many snails, killing them expanded my health bar, but it's only temporary, once I lose that part of health, I won't recover it again.
I decided to move to the right, but at one point of the path, it was destroyed and I fell in an area where there was a floor full of spikes that obviously hurt me, but there were some floating platforms that I could use to pass that area, but I had to be agile because from the ceiling some spikes fall, it was not so difficult to overcome it, Once I crossed it I continued climbing upwards and then I continued moving to the right once I got to the top, along the way I found another large object that explained that, continuing where I was going I will find the land of the King and Creator, the last and only civilization, the Eternal Kingdom, Hallownest.
Decidí moverme hacia la derecha, pero en un punto del camino, este se destruyó y caí en una zona donde había un piso lleno de pinchos que obviamente me hacían daño, pero había unas plataformas flotantes que pude usar para pasar esa zona, pero tuve que ser ágil porque del techo caen unos pinchos, no fue tan difícil superarlo, una vez crucé seguí subiendo hacia arriba para luego seguir avanzando hacia la derecha una vez llegué arriba del todo, por el camino me encontré otro objeto grande que me explicaba que, al seguir por donde iba me encontraré con la tierra del Rey y Creador, la última y única civilización, el Reino Eterno, Hallownest.
Seguí avanzando para llegar a ese reino y me encontré con una puerta muy grande que pude destruir, al destruirla me encontré con un precipicio, sin pensarlo mucho me lancé por ahí, caí en unas ruinas, pero luego de avanzar un poco pude ver los primeros rastros de civilización, unas farolas, pude llegar a Bocasucia, la ciudad desvaneciente, ahí pude encontrar casas a las que aún no puedo acceder, pero también a un anciano, llamado "Viejo Insecto", quien me explica que los residentes de ese pueblo han bajado por el pozo uno por uno, desapareciendo, todo esto debido a que antiguamente había un gran reino debajo de Bocasucia, actualmente está en ruinas pero aún sigue atrayendo a la gente, este reino se llamaba Hallownest, supuestamente fue el reino más grande de la historia, el cual está lleno de secretos y tesoros, al lado de este anciano hay una banca, al descansar en ella pude recuperar toda mi salud, en Bocasucia también encontré una casa donde venden herramientas de cartografías, aún no puedo entrar ahí.
I continued advancing to reach that kingdom and I found a very large door that I could destroy, when I destroyed it I found a precipice, without thinking much I threw myself through there, I fell into some ruins, but after advancing a little I could see the first traces of civilization, some streetlights, I could reach Dirtmouth, the fading town, there I could find houses that I still can not access, but also an old man, called "Elderbug", who explains to me that the residents of that town have gone down through the well one by one, disappearing, all this because in the past there was a great kingdom below Dirtmouth, nowadays it is in ruins but still attracts people, this kingdom was called Hallownest, supposedly it was the largest kingdom in history, which is full of secrets and treasures, next to this old man there is a bench, by resting on it I could recover all my health, in Dirtmouth I also found a house where they sell mapping tools, I still can't enter there.
Fui a ese pozo, al bajar por él llegué hasta Cruces Olvidados, se me presentaron dos caminos, a la derecha y la izquierda, decidí primero explorar la izquierda, me encontré con varios enemigos, voladores, unos con formas más humanoides y otros que se adhieren a las paredes o techos, al llegar al final me encontré con un lugar donde en el fondo se puede ver objetos grandes con agujeros en ellos, de uno de esos agujeros sale una larva, una larva vieja y llorando, supongo que se sentirá muy sola.
I went to that well, going down it I got to Forgotten Crossroads, I was presented with two paths, to the right and left, I decided to explore the left first, I found several enemies, flying, some with more humanoid shapes and others that stick to the walls or ceilings, when I got to the end I found a place where at the bottom you can see large objects with holes in them, from one of those holes comes out a larva, an old and crying larva, I guess it will feel very lonely.
Decidí volver y seguir por la derecha, avancé hasta llegar a una entrada de un edificio, pude notar que en la entrada habían 3 símbolos, eran los que se iluminaban en la cinemática, al entrar, el juego me revela el nombre del lugar, Templo del Huevo Negro, dentro de él está lo que parece ser un huevo con los 3 símbolos que vimos en las cinemáticas, al parecer este es el lugar que me mostraron, hay un sujeto llamado Quirrel, un aventurero que le gusta explorar, nos habla sobre las personas que vinieron a explorar antes que nosotros y un poco acerca de ese huevo de piedra.
I decided to go back and continue to the right, I advanced until I reached an entrance to a building, I could notice that at the entrance there were 3 symbols, they were the ones that were illuminated in the cinematic, when I entered, the game reveals the name of the place, Temple of the Black Egg, inside it is what seems to be an egg with the 3 symbols that we saw in the cinematics, apparently this is the place that I was shown, there is a guy named Quirrel, an adventurer who likes to explore, he tells us about the people who came to explore before us and a little about that stone egg.
Decidí salir de ahí, encontrando a varios enemigos por el camino, entre ellos nuevos enemigos, pero llegué a un lugar que es una cueva de cristal, en ella conocí a Myla, no dice nada interesante y solo está cantando, encontré ahí mismo una estatua que al golpearla llena mi contenedor de ALMA, salí de ahí ya que no había nada interesante, me topé con un minijefe, no fue muy difícil pero no puedo distraerme porque me puede matar, luego de matarlo encontré una larva encerrada, la liberé, me dio curiosidad así que fui a ver aquel lugar donde estaba la vieja larva y sí, estaba la nueva larva que rescaté, me premió con monedas.
I decided to get out of there, finding several enemies along the way, including new enemies, but I arrived to a place that is a crystal cave, in it I met Myla, she doesn't say anything interesting and she is just singing, I found right there a statue that when I hit it fills my SOUL container, I went out of there since there was nothing interesting, I ran into a mini-boss, it wasn't very difficult but I can't get distracted because he can kill me, after killing him I found a larva locked up, I freed it, I got curious so I went to see that place where the old larva was and yes, there was the new larva that I rescued, he rewarded me with coins.
Bajé un poco y encontré al cartógrafo, al parecer es el esposo de la cartógrafa que está en Bocasucia, le compré un mapa, seguí yendo por la izquierda y llegué a un lugar con lo que parece ser lagos de acido, luego de pasar con mucho cuidado logré llegar a otra larva y liberarla, seguí avanzando guiándome por el mapa y luego de evadir muchos gusanos gigantes a los cuales no puedo matar, llegué a un lugar donde al tocar una campana, una extraña criatura llamada El Ultimo Ciervo llega hasta mi, al parecer es un método de viaje rápido, me habla sobre que se siente muy solo, porque al parecer es el único de su especie y ya no hay viajeros que usen su servicio.
I went down a little and found the cartographer, apparently he is the husband of the cartographer who is in Dirtmouth, I bought him a map, I kept going left and reached a place with what seems to be lakes of acid, after passing very carefully I managed to reach another larva and release it, I kept moving forward guided by the map and after evading many giant worms that I can't kill, I arrived to a place where when I ring a bell, a strange creature called The Last Stag comes to me, apparently it is a fast travel method, he tells me that he feels very lonely, because apparently he is the only one of his species and there are no more travelers that use his service.
Luego de esa exploración llegué con lo que sería el primer Boss, se llama el Falso Caballero, sus ataques no varían mucho y siguen un patrón, pero no se puede tomar a la ligera, hace saltos grandes, ataca con su masa y causa ondas que hacen daño e invoca proyectiles que caen del cielo, cada vez que le hago un daño determinado, cae y su verdadero cuerpo sale de la armadura, así pasó hasta que por fin lo derroté, al derrotarlo me dio un emblema, es el emblema de la ciudad.
After that exploration I arrived with what would be the first Boss, he is called the False Knight, his attacks do not vary much and follow a pattern, but can not be taken lightly, he makes big jumps, attacks with his mass and causes waves that cause damage and invokes projectiles that fall from the sky, every time I do a certain damage, he falls and his real body comes out of the armor, so it happened until I finally defeated him, when I defeated him he gave me an emblem, it is the emblem of the city.
Ok, pienso dejar esto hasta aquí, no seguiré hablando sobre este juego hasta que lo termine y haga una review, porque es una de las mejores experiencias que he estado teniendo en lo que queda del año, de verdad te lo recomiendo, entre las primeras impresiones que tuve puedo destacar lo siguiente:
Hollow knight tiene mecánicas muy básicas por ahora, solo hay un tipo de ataque, este concepto puede ser repetitivo en algunos juegos, pero por ahora me lo estoy pasando bastante bien, la estética visual del juego me encanta, es una estética sombría pero sin ser terrorífica, esto sumado al diseño de los niveles y enemigos, crea un mundo propio, una identidad única que hace que Hollow Knight sea su propio referente, al igual que la banda sonora, si la banda sonora tuviese cara estoy seguro que se parecería a la estética visual de Hollow Knight, todo está muy bien conectado, creo que no hablaré más, eso es todo por hoy amigos, te recomiendo este juego, todas las imágenes son mías a excepción de la portada, si quieres ir a su fuente solo haz click en la imagen, espero que tengas una buena mañana, tarde o noche!

Hollow knight has very basic mechanics for now, there is only one type of attack, this concept can be repetitive in some games, but for now I'm having a pretty good time, I love the visual aesthetics of the game, it is a gloomy aesthetic but without being terrifying, this added to the design of the levels and enemies, creates a world of its own, a unique identity that makes Hollow Knight its own reference, just like the soundtrack, if the soundtrack had a face I'm sure it would resemble the visual aesthetics of Hollow Knight, everything is very well connected, I think I will not talk more, that's all for today friends, I recommend you this game, all images are mine except for the cover, if you want to go to the source just click on the image, I hope you have a good morning, afternoon or evening!
