Well, many years ago I was talking with my friends about great games that we have not played, we talked about Halo, we talked about San Andreas, and a friend one day told me about Fable, I realized that many people had played it and said it was a very cool game, I ignored it at that time, but years later I remembered it and I decided to download it to play it, I was very anxious and could not wait for it to finish downloading to start playing it, after a few hours I left it in the middle, today I will tell you about my experience with this game.
Verán hace muchos años hablaba con mis amigos acerca de grandes juegos que no hemos jugado, Hablábamos de Halo, hablábamos de San Andreas, y un amigo un día me habló de Fable, me di cuenta que muchas personas lo habían jugado y decían que era un juego muy genial, lo ignoré en ese entonces, pero años después lo recordé y me dispuse a descargarlo para jugar, estaba muy ansioso y no podía esperar a que se terminara de descargar para empezar a jugarlo, luego de unas horas lo dejé a la mitad, hoy les hablaré de mi experiencia con este juego.
I think it is too much to talk about the story of Fable, because it is well known and almost everyone has played it, but for those who have not, the game is about a child who dreams of being a great hero, we started playing on the day of our sister's birthday in a town called Oakvale, birthday that we had forgotten and so we make a deal with our father, who will compensate us with a coin for every good action, so we get money to buy a box of chocolates to our sister, the actions are good or bad we can choose them ourselves, after all that the village is attacked by a horde of bandits.
Creo que está demás hablar acerca de la historia de Fable, ya que es muy conocido y casi todo el mundo lo ha jugado, pero para los que no, el juego se trata de que somos un niño que sueña con ser un gran héroe, comenzamos a jugar en el día del cumpleaños de nuestra hermana en un pueblo llamado Oakvale, cumpleaños que habíamos olvidado y por eso hacemos un trato con nuestro padre, quien nos compensará con una moneda por cada buena acción, así conseguimos dinero para comprarle una caja de bombones a nuestra hermana, las acciones sean buenas o malas las elegimos nosotros mismos, luego de todo eso la aldea es atacada por una horda de bandidos.
Acá empezaron mis problemas con este juego, el pueblo es atacado, pero cuando corremos a nuestra casa mientras todo el pueblo está en fuego (porque se supone que está siendo atacada) no vemos a ningún bandido, no sentí esa sensación de peligro en ningún momento, una vez llegamos a nuestra casa vemos a nuestro padre en el suelo, muerto, ahí es cuando aparece un bandido y antes de que nos ataque, somos salvados por un antiguo héroe llamado Maze nos salva, nos lleva al Gremio de los Héroes.
Here began my problems with this game, the town is attacked, but when we run to our house while the whole town is on fire (because it is supposed to be under attack) we don't see any bandits, I didn't feel that sense of danger at any time, once we get to our house we see our father on the ground, dead, that's when a bandit appears and before he attacks us, we are saved by an ancient hero named Maze saves us, he takes us to the Heroes Guild.
There we spend years training and learning skills to become the hero we dreamed of, as time goes by we notice how our character grows and takes the characteristics of an adult, from here on I will not talk about the story, but about my experience, I do not know if it happened only to me, but the character does not transmit me any of the emotions it wants to convey, I did not feel sadness for our murdered father and I do not feel sadness for our missing sister, it was very empty, for me that's a very negative point when there are so many things we can do to our character, the way we play will be based on it, we have a karma system that will change the physical appearance and how other people will treat us depending on the actions we take, if they are good or bad, we can use different types of weapons and armor, we can choose whether to use magic, be someone who is based on speed or based on strength, even with all that, I did not feel connected with the character.
Ahí pasamos años entrenando y aprendiendo habilidades para convertirnos en ese héroe que tanto soñamos, al pasar el tiempo notamos como nuestro personaje crece y toma las características de un adulto, a partir de acá ya no hablaré de la historia, sino de mi experiencia, no sé si me pasó solo a mí, pero el personaje no me transmite nada de las emociones que quiere transmitir, no sentí tristeza por nuestro padre asesinado y no siento tristeza por nuestra hermana desaparecida, se me hizo muy vacío, para mí eso es un punto muy negativo cuando hay tantas cosas que podemos hacerle a nuestro personaje, el cómo jugamos se basaré en él, tenemos un sistema de karma que cambiará el aspecto físico y el cómo nos tratarán las demás personas dependiendo de las acciones que tomemos, si son buenas o malas, podemos utilizar diferentes tipos de armas y armaduras, podemos elegir si usar magia, ser alguien que se base en la velocidad o se base en la fuerza, aún con todo eso, no me sentí conectado con el personaje.
El sistema de combate se me hizo muy repetitivo, el juego ofrece muchas habilidades que puedes desbloquear o evolucionar, pero incluso así sigue siendo algo repetitivo y aburrido, consigues experiencia luchando contra enemigos o pasando misiones, esta experiencia sirve para desbloquear o evolucionar esas habilidades, pero el hecho de que los combates sean muy repetitivos incluso cuando usas una lista larga de hechizos y habilidades, no ayuda mucho, si tratas de farmear bastante experiencia para desbloquear muchas habilidades, es probable que te termines aburriendo, y te aburrirás más cuando te des cuenta lo fácil que son los enemigos.
The combat system felt very repetitive to me, the game offers many skills that you can unlock or evolve, but even so it's still somewhat repetitive and boring, you get experience fighting enemies or passing quests, this experience is used to unlock or evolve those skills, but the fact that the combats are very repetitive even when you use a long list of spells and skills, doesn't help much, if you try to farm enough experience to unlock many skills, you will probably end up getting bored, and you will get more bored when you realize how easy the enemies are.
El combate con jefes también me pareció muy aburrido, aun cuando tenían un aspecto aterrador la dificultad no era nada interesante, no te obligaba a elegir bien tus habilidades, a pensar una estrategia tomando en cuenta esas habilidades que conseguiste y evolucionaste, al menos así lo sentí yo, no tuve que plantearme el que era lo que iba a hacer, solo llegaba al boss y desplegaba todo lo que tenía en mi menú de habilidades.
The boss combat also seemed very boring to me, even when they had a terrifying aspect the difficulty was not interesting at all, it didn't force you to choose your skills well, to think of a strategy taking in consideration those skills you got and evolved, at least that's how I felt, I didn't have to think about what I was going to do, I just got to the boss and deployed everything I had in my skill menu.
Muchas veces tenía que pasar por una ruta donde ya había pasado antes, y siempre era lo mismo, me esperaban los mismos enemigos, los mataba como siempre y seguía, así usara diferentes habilidades, armas o armaduras, siempre se sentía igual, no pude completar el juego, no sé hasta dónde avancé, pero decidí dejarlo por esa misma razón, porque todo era repetitivo.
Many times I had to go through a route where I had already passed before, and it was always the same, the same enemies were waiting for me, I killed them as usual and continued, even if I used different skills, weapons or armor, it always felt the same, I could not complete the game, I do not know how far I advanced, but I decided to quit for that same reason, because everything was repetitive.
Era un mundo grande pero incluso así sentía que siempre iba por los mismos caminos, nunca sentí algo novedoso, fueron sus mecánicas las que hicieron que dejase el juego, a pesar de que el personaje se sentía vacío, creo que, si el gameplay fuese más dinámico y más desafiante para hacerlo entretenido, me hubiese gustado, no quiero hablar de la historia porque no me pareció muy original, pero eso no me importa mucho mientras el juego consiga entretenerme.
It was a big world but even so I felt that it always went the same ways, I never felt something new, it was its mechanics that made me leave the game, even though the character felt empty I think, If the gameplay was more dynamic and more challenging to make it entertaining, I would have liked it, I don't want to talk about the story because I didn't find it very original, but that doesn't matter much to me as long as the game manages to entertain me.
