Yesterday I finished episode 2 of HalfLife, and OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH YEEEEAH, one of the best experiences I've ever had with a video game, everything was perfect, the gameplay, the soundtrack, the story, EVERYTHING, there are many moments that I said "ok, this is amazing", I don't want to make spoilers for not ruining your experience if you haven't played it.
20 años después del “accidente” de Black Mesa, despertamos en un vagón que nos dirige a Ciudad 17, ahí nos damos cuenta de que todas las personas están adoctrinadas, como si fuesen prisioneros, la Alianza controla todo, lo podemos ver cuando todas las personas que no son de la Alianza son tratados como si fuesen esclavos y están vestidas con un traje azul muy característicos. Es en este lugar donde conocemos a Barney, lo conocimos antes en Black Mesa siendo un guardia de seguridad. HalfLife 2 nos deja en claro que ESTO ES HALF LIFE cuando Barney nos da una cerveza que nos había prometido antes en HalfLife 1, un detalle simplemente impresionante, lo mismo pasa con el Dr. Magnusson, a quien le dañamos la comida en HalfLife 1.
20 years after the "accident" of Black Mesa, we wake up in a wagon that takes us to City 17, there we realize that all the people are indoctrinated, as if they were prisoners, the Alliance controls everything, we can see it when all the people who are not of the Alliance are treated as if they were slaves and are dressed in a very characteristic blue suit. It is in this place where we meet Barney, we met him before in Black Mesa being a security guard. HalfLife 2 makes it clear that THIS IS HALF LIFE when Barney gives us a beer that he had promised us before in HalfLife 1, a simply impressive detail, the same happens with Dr. Magnusson, who we damaged his food in HalfLife 1.
It's these details that impress me the most about HalfLife, because even from the first game there are details that make you go "WOW" like the detail of the cockroaches that react to their environment.
Son estos detalles lo que más me impresiona de todo HalfLife, porque incluso desde el primer juego hay detalles que llegan a sacarte un “WOW” como el detalle de las cucarachas que reaccionan a su entorno.
Algo que me gusta en los videojuegos es que nos permita interactuar con los elementos que nos ofrecen los escenarios, y algo que tiene esta saga es eso, muchas veces tenemos que hacer uso de los distintos elementos que componen el escenario para avanzar, la segunda entrega hace muy buen uso de su motor de físicas Havok para utilizar de muchas maneras estos elementos para lograr los objetivos, ahí nos damos cuenta que cada detalle del juego es importante, una simple caja o un simple barril es de gran importancia para que la historia se desarrolle.

Hay momentos donde solo me paré a apreciar zonas de del juego como si se tratase de una obra de arte, tiene muchas cosas pero no tanto como para abrumarte, ni tan poquitas como para dejarte insatisfecho, cuando llegas a White Forest y observas a lo lejos a una Ciudadela destruida, es impresionante, el juego compensa tu sentido de exploración, hay lugares ocultos en todo el juego donde conseguirás suministros.
There are moments where I just stopped to appreciate areas of the game as if it were a work of art, it has many things but not so much as to overwhelm you, neither so few as to leave you unsatisfied, when you get to White Forest and observe a destroyed Citadel in the distance, it is impressive, the game compensates your sense of exploration, there are hidden places throughout the game where you will get supplies.
Me divertí en el bosque como si fuera un niño pequeño en un nuevo parque, cada zona del juego es totalmente diferente a la anterior, pasé por nidos de Antlions, pasé por bosques, pasé por Ravenholm, pasé por ciudades, todo acompañado de momentos de acción (que son muchos) y alguno de ellos acompañado de un personaje que le tengo mucho cariño, AlyxVance, no es la típica compañía que quieres que se vaya para pasar todo solo, no, es una compañía muy agradable y que siempre te ayuda en los momentos más difíciles.
I had fun in the forest as if I was a little kid in a new park, each area of the game is totally different from the previous one, I went through Antlions nests, I went through forests, I went through Ravenholm, I went through cities, all accompanied by moments of action (which are many) and some of them accompanied with a character that I love, Alyx Vance, she is not the typical company that you want to go away to get through everything alone, no, she is a very nice company and that always helps you in the most difficult moments.
La acción del juego no decepciona en nada, a pesar de que no tiene una gran variedad de enemigos, el juego siempre consigue la manera de hacer que tengas que jugar con todas las armas para poder avanzar, la historia del juego está tan lleno de incógnitas y características tan importantes que consigue tu interés y tus ganas de obtener respuestas.
The action of the game doesn't disappoint at all, even though it doesn't have a huge variety of enemies, the game always manages to make you have to play with all the weapons in order to advance, the story of the game is so full of unknowns and features so important that it gets your interest and your desire to get answers.
Vi toda la campaña de Half Life Alyx en YouTube, pero eso hizo que quedara más confundido con el final del Episodio 2 de Half Life 2, y eso está genial porque genera un hype impresionante a pesar de que mi PC no cumpla con los requisitos mínimos XD.
Los momentos de intensidad y acción que tuve son increíbles, en algunas ocasiones te obliga a usar lo que está a tu alrededor a tu favor para conseguir ventaja contra los enemigos, algo que me encanta de este juego es que puedes devolver las granadas de los enemigos, pero para eso tienes que sacar la Gravity Gun, y eso te quita tiempo por lo tanto tienes que hacerlo rápido antes de que explote y es un momento de adrenalina que puede resultar en un desastre o en un momento genial.
I watched the whole Half Life Alyx campaign on YouTube, but that made me more confused with the ending of Half Life 2 Episode 2, and that's great because it generates an awesome hype even though my PC doesn't have the minimum requirements XD. The moments of intensity and action I had are incredible, in some occasions it forces you to use everything around you in your favor to get advantage against the enemies, something I love about this game is that you can return the grenades of the enemies, but for that you have to take out the Gravity Gun, and that takes time so you have to do it fast before it explodes and it's a moment of adrenaline that can result in a disaster or a great moment.
It is impossible not to fall in love with the characters, it is as if it were a movie, everything they do and their designs are so well done that it seems that behind the cameras there is a director who forces them to make a perfect performance, every time they spoke or did something I was captivated and paid a lot of attention to whatever they were doing.
Es imposible de no enamorarse de los personajes, es como si fuese una película, está muy bien hecho todo lo que hacen y sus diseños que parece que detrás de cámaras haya un director que los obligue a hacer una actuación perfecta, cada vez que hablaban o hacían algo me atrapaba y le ponía mucho atención a lo que hacían.
