There was a time where survival games were a trend, just as it happened recently with Battle Royale, there was also a time where pixelated games were a trend, most of those games that only lived of the trend died, like trends, those games were ephemeral, but today we will talk about two games that survived all those trends and today are still being great games and despite the years still offers many hours of entertainment, Terraria and Minecraft, these two games competed against other games that tried to offer much more, games like Cube World or Starbound, but Terraria and Minecraft still reign, but which one is better?
Hubo un tiempo donde los juegos de supervivencia eran tendencia, justo como pasó hace poco con los Battle Royale, también hubo un tiempo donde los juegos pixelados eran tendencia, la gran mayoría de esos juegos que solo vivían de la tendencia murieron, al igual que las tendencias, esos juegos fueron efímeros, pero hoy hablaremos de dos juegos que sobrevivieron a todas esas tendencias y que hoy en día siguen siendo juegos grandiosos y que a pesar de los años sigue ofreciendo muchísimas horas de entretenimiento, Terraria y Minecraft, estos dos juegos compitieron contra otros juegos que intentaron ofrecer mucho más, juegos como Cube World o Starbound, pero Terraria y Minecraft siguen reinando, pero cuál es mejor?
For many years the debate about which game is better has been very active, even I have come to think about which one is better, many defend Terraria because they say it has much more content and many different ways to complete the game, the way we fight against enemies using magic, archery or melee, while Minecraft is not so dynamic in that aspect, but still the Minecraft community defends much everything that Minecraft has and everything it can offer.
Desde hace muchos años el debate sobre que juego es mejor se ha mantenido muy activo, incluso yo mismo he llego a pensar acerca de cuál es mejor, muchos defienden a Terraria porque dicen que tiene muchísimo más contenido y muchas maneras diferentes de completar el juego, la manera en la que peleamos contra los enemigos usando magia, arquería o melee, mientras que Minecraft no es tan dinámico en ese aspecto, pero aún así la comunidad de Minecraft defiende mucho todo lo que tiene Minecraft y todo lo que puede ofrecer.
¿Cómo es posible que el debate siga en pie después de tantos años? Lo sé, es sorprendente que aún no se elija cuál es el mejor, aunque algunos ya hayan elegido, después de todo ambos juegos siguen mejorando con los años, Minecraft sigue avanzando a pasos agigantados con cada actualización, Terraria sigue mejorando cada aspecto que tiene con actualizaciones menos constantes que Minecraft pero aún así sigue mejorando con los años, algo que de verdad me sorprende es lo poco tóxica que es esta "competencia", es decir, he visto a jugadores de Dota debatiendo con jugadores de LoL de manera muy agresiva sobre cuál juego es mejor, mientras que los de Minecraft y Terraria debaten con argumentos muy buenos que te hacen dudar sobre cuál prefieres.
How is it possible that the debate is still going on after so many years? I know, it's surprising that there is still no choice which one is the best, even though some people have already made a choice, but, after all both games keep improving over the years, Minecraft keeps advancing by huge steps with every update, Terraria keeps improving every aspect it has with less constant updates than Minecraft but it still keeps improving over the years, something that really surprises me is how non-toxic this "competition" is, I mean, I've seen Dota players debating with LoL players in a very aggressive way about which game is better, while Minecraft and Terraria players debate with very good arguments that make you doubt about which one you prefer.
After thinking about it so much, I have realized which game is better, I have had a lot of fun with both, some of the best anecdotes playing with friends have been in these games, I have been addicted to both to the point that when I went to sleep I was already thinking about what I would do the next day in the game, what plan I would develop to advance faster, unexplored places and even the crafting, I was thinking about what to do every minute while I wasn't playing them, this in both games, but which one is better...?
Después de darle tantas vueltas al tema, me he dado cuenta sobre cual juego es mejor, me he divertido muchísimo con ambos, algunas de las mejores anécdotas jugando con amigos ha sido en estos juegos, me he viciado con ambos hasta el punto en el que cuando me iba a dormir ya estaba pensando en que haría al día siguiente dentro del juego, cuál plan iba a desarrollar para avanzar más rápido, lugares sin explorar y hasta los crafteos, estaba pensando en que hacer a cada minuto mientras no los jugaba, esto en ambos juegos, pero, ¿Cuál es mejor?...
Ninguno, no creo que sea justo poner a competir a estos dos grandes juegos cuando lo único que tienen en común son aspectos tan básicos que fácilmente encuentras en otro videojuego, lo que no tiene Terraria lo tiene Minecraft, y lo que no tiene Minecraft lo tiene Terraria, aunque tengan temáticas muy parecidas, son juegos totalmente diferentes, después de todo es imposible que se hable sobre que es mejor o peor en los videojuegos cuando todo es subjetivo, no todos tenemos los mismos gustos, te puedes gustar un juego más que otro, pero son tus gustos y tú elegirás cuál es el juego que más te gusta.

Hay aspectos que me gustan de Terraria que no tiene Minecraft, como los eventos y bosses tan variados que dan mucha variedad al juego, y a esto le sumamos el hecho de que los bosses y eventos dan items y recursos únicos, con los cuales podemos craftear cosas como armas o armaduras, y son muchísimas, las armas y armaduras que puedes usar va a depender de lo que quieras, si quieres usar magia tendrás que craftear o conseguir armaduras o armas que sean beneficiosos en ese aspecto, si quieres usar melee también debes conseguir esas armas o armaduras que te ayuden en ese aspecto, Minecraft no tiene algo como eso.
There are aspects that I like about Terraria that Minecraft doesn't have, like the events and bosses so diverse that give a lot of variety to the game, and to this we add the fact that the bosses and events give unique items and resources, with which we can craft things like weapons or armor, and there are a lot of them, the weapons and armor you can use will depend on what you want, if you want to use magic you will have to craft or get armor or weapons that are beneficial in that aspect, if you want to use melee you must also get those weapons or armor that help you in that aspect, Minecraft does not have something like that.
Pero algo que me encanta de Minecraft que no tiene Terraria es que el mundo es ilimitado, no estás limitado por un mapa grande y ya como Terraria, puedes basar tu modo de juego en la exploración, recorrer todo el mundo sin una casa y sin rumbo, y ni hablar de las otras dimensiones que podemos explorar, explora mejor que Terraria algunos aspectos como hacer tu propia granja para tu propio beneficio, con animales y cultivos variados, puedes criar vacas, gallina, cerdos y más, y puedes cultivar trigo, papas, zanahoria y mucho más.
But something I love about Minecraft that Terraria doesn't have is that the world is unlimited, you are not limited by a big map like Terraria, you can base your gameplay on exploration, go all over the world without a house and with no direction, and even more the other dimensions we can explore, it explores better than Terraria some aspects like making your own farm for your own benefit, with animals and various crops, you can raise cows, chicken, pigs and more, and you can cultivate wheat, potatoes, carrots and much more.
