Hello Gaming Fam, hope you all are doing great and enjoying your weekend. Recently, I have finished Mafia 2 and was looking for different genre. So, I decided to play "Freedom Fighters."
I have already completed this game for twice or thrice back in the days, so, time to bring back nostalgia. I even remember most of tasks and locations. Now, without delaying the real deal, let's dive into the game.
Officially game is described as:
Freedom Fighters is a 2003 third-person shooter video game for the PlayStation 2, GameCube, Xbox, and Windows. It was developed by IO Interactive and published by Electronic Arts. The game is set in an alternate history in which the Soviet Union has invaded and occupied New York City.
Yeah, that's me. You must be wondering what am I doing here? Good question.
So, the story goes by like this, we along with our brother (from another mother) are at 'Isabella Angelina's' flat as plumbers. The next moment we get to know that Soviet has invaded and captured New York City. Interesting, there military general comes in and ask our brother to tell her hide out. Of course, he or I have no idea about her hide out. So, he gets some slap work and taken as prisoner.
Without checking the flat, they just go away. This is where the story ends and game-play starts. A helicopter is shooting at us through the window and thanks to "Great American Walls," bullets won't hit us. We have a wrench in our hands and with that we take down a Soviet soldier and next step, we are the "Freedom Fighter."
Now with the gun in our hand and captain leading us, we move on and kill few soldiers. Easy Peasy! I still remember from the past that cylinders are destroy-able items.
Our Freedom Fighter is a born ready type. Next step, we use a medikit and save an injured fella as there is chaos and bombing everywhere around us.
For saving this fella, we get charisma.
Charisma is a game mechanic that determines how many recruits the player can have in their squad. It is represented by a yellow bar that fills up as the player completes various actions, such as completing missions, blowing up targets, rescuing prisoners, and healing civilians
That's the best thing in this game. Once with other fighters, we are able to lead them with commands and everything. All these choices while leading makes the game more realistic and fun.
The captain and fighter take us to the tunnel base, but before that we learn to use molotov.
After entering into the manhole, we are at our secret base through this base we will be dealing with those invaders and completing our duty as freedom fighters.
In the first mission, we have two locations: Police Office and Post Office. We go to the Police one first and take the C4 (charge) from there and use that C4 to blowup the gas building because there are few snipers residing up there.
After successfully annihilating those towers and killing the sniper, next step is to go back to the police station and save our girl, Isabella. But, it wasn't the easy task. There were bunch of enemies and police guy advises us to go through the tunnel because it was less guarded and safe.
After killing the tunnel guy, we are in the garage and with more and more killing. We have saved Isabella. Btw, Who is this Isabella and why is she important? She is social right activist and a freedom fighter that's why she is important and she has access to various official buildings.
After saving her, we pass through the window and raise our "Great American flag."
Done with Police Station mission. Next, we have the Post Office where we will have to save our other fighters in order to do the rest of the missions. But we will cover it in the next post.
See you guys int he next post.
Enjoy and have fun.
PEACE🕊️
