Clearing Victory Road cave and another legendary find
This is a play through of Pokemon Blue by using RetroArch to emulate the game. I am randomising the Pokemon in areas with similar strength so it isn't completely randomised, while choosing three starters of similar types
Some stronger trainers were appearing in this Victory Road cave with one coming out with a Primeape that, happens to take multiple bites to defeat and it got a couple of hits off on Blastoise, to a lesser damage effect. At least Blastoise reached level fifty seven for this victory!
Venomoth got to use its solarbeam against a Golduck with a trade off for a small hit of damage done but that was perfectly fine. Goliath was closing in on the end of the cave but still had to pick up some items, do some battles and find his way among the right boulders to push to get to the exit.
Some of these items included technical machine like submission which is not that good but a good one is the full heal and will come in handy for the Elite Four and so were things like max potions or full restore.
The next trainer fight had one ultra rare Pokemon believed to only be one in existence and possibly a second as well.. first up was the majestic Ninetales and its grace was washed away in one swift go. Now it was time for the legendary Mew to come out from this trainer and its metronome only just missed Blastoise, it could have been devastating to its health should it have been a strong move.
Luckily the hydro pump and surf did enough damage and Mews trainer had used an x attack on it, wasting a turn and now having to bring out the Snorlax.
The Snorlax was pretty easy with a high level Moltres as the fire spin will stop it from attacking. Then after a couple of uses, Goliath only required using fly and it was taken out with ease.
Before leaving and after noticing a big bird on the other side of some rocks, it was decided to find and catch it.
It required moving multiple boulders around the place.. after a while doing this it was the correct ladder found, bringing him to this big bird.
Blastoise was the first one out against the legendary bird Pokemon Zapdos, great as something as a backup should Goliath decide to continue his adventure further than beating the Elite Four and champion.
A hydro pump and surf used brought it down low after forgetting about the master balls.. Dragonite came out and then it was remembered and you guessed it, Zapdos was caught!
More boulder pushing was required to get the boulder needed, onto the switch that unlocks this barrier blocking the way to a ladder to take, up to the final little room that takes him back outside and to the Elite Four staging area. Here was where buying lots of good items and healing would allow proper preparation, including full restores as a key item ready to heal during battle.
Emulator used: RetroArch with a Gameboy Colour core
ROMS: Pokemon Blue after being put through the randomiser
Saving: (Used for quick loading and for getting back to before I had all Pokemon faint, if I lose and so it is quicker.)
