Antes que nada debo admitir que este mapa fue hace mucho tiempo, creo que ha pasado más de un mes desde la última vez que jugué DST junto a Jota, pero nunca escribí sobre este mapa porque, para ser sincero, lo olvidé completamente. Este mapa lo jugamos cuando en mi casa aún había internet y Jota iba a mi casa para usar mi internet y jugar cosas juntos.

Recordé que jugamos esto porque estaba revisando mis screenshots de Steam y encontré un montón de screenshots que tomé cuando estábamos jugando este mapa. Debo admitir que estoy realmente sorprendido con todo lo que hicimos y también experimentamos un montón de cosas nuevas, incluso llegamos a ver brevemente el nuevo bioma que añadieron, pero no logramos ir a explorarlo porque nos centramos en sobrevivir mientras experimentábamos otras cosas.

Este mapa comenzó con un buen presagio porque en las primeras huellas de Koalefant que conseguimos logramos encontrar una Ewecus, básicamente una oveja que tira mocos y puede considerarse un mini-boss por la cantidad de daño que puede hacer.

En este mapa decidimos jugar de la forma más técnica y profesional posible, luego de haber visto muchísimos videos de DST (y que para ser honesto olvidamos el 50% de todo lo que vimos), comenzamos a construir cosas. Notamos la importancia de la magia (es decir, los crafteos para hacer cosas mágicas) y también construimos cosas que nos darían muchísimas ventajas en el late-game. Por ejemplo: La pajarera.

Y también conseguimos mucho oro luego de haberle dado varios objetos al rey cerdo.

Luego de haber matado unas cuantas sombras para obtener Nightmare Fuel, decidimos construir la máquina tier 2 para cosas mágicas: el Shadow Manipulator. Jamás lo habíamos construido y es bastante agradable ver muchas más cosas para craftear, desde una flauta hasta cosas como una campana para llamar al pie grande, loool.

También desbloqueamos distintos crafteos como una vara de fuego o la vara de hielo, items que jamás hemos crafteado y que son muy útiles.

Al utilizar la combinación Wolfgang - Wickerbottom debíamos sacar mucho provecho de toda la comida que el mapa nos brindaba y también toda la utilidad de ambos personajes. Mientras Wolfgang necesita mucha comida para poder mantenerse en su forma Mighty, Wickerbottom tiene la facilidad de hacer crecer muchísimas bayas para que Wolfgang se mantenga alimentado y siempre estar con sus buff.

Por esto es que teníamos una colección gigante de bayas que nos permitieran estar alimentados en cualquier momento que lo necesitáramos, pero es gracioso porque José nunca llegó a utilizar el encantamiento de hacer crecer la comida rápido, nunca conseguimos papiros para hacer los libros que necesitábamos, pero al menos la comida creció y pudimos comer sin necesidad de los libros.

Como siempre, llegó el Deerclops, aunque nos agarró en un lugar un poco incómodo ya que en ese momento estábamos buscando los papiros para hacer los libros. En ese momento solo hicimos antorchas y empezamos a huir hacia la casa porque ya habíamos trazado un plan de antemano para esta situación. Es la primera vez que íbamos a ver esto, pero de verdad fue emocionante y aunque no salió exactamente cómo lo esperábamos, aún así logramos salir vivos de esto. (Bueno, yo no, pero Jota sí).

Invocamos al poderosísimo Klaus para que derrotara al Deerclops, y honestamente fue una de las mejores ideas que se nos pudieron ocurrir. Es la primera vez que hacemos esto y fue bastante emocionante, Klaus es un boss con una cantidad exageradísima de vida y también tiene unos ataques que fácilmente pueden destrozar a cualquier personaje.

Yo fui victima de esto ya que estuve muy cerca de Klaus, luego de que básicamente devoró al Deerclops intenté acercarme para hacerle un poco de daño y también para estar cerca de la pelea. Es gracioso porque no asesinó al Deerclops, de un momento a otro el Klaus empezó a targetearnos y dejó al Deerclops a un lado, lo que permitió que se escapara.

Con solamente 2 ataques el Klaus me bajó toda mi vida y terminé más que muerto. Es increíble lo tanto que hemos avanzado en DST porque Jota fácilmente me revivió utilizando las glándulas de araña y restauró mi vida máxima utilizando una jeringa que elimina los debuff de vida máxima que causan el revivir con las glándulas de araña.

Luego de haber revivido con las glándulas de araña nuestra segunda misión era ir a terminar de acabar con el Deerclops. Para nuestra suerte, el Klaus desaparece luego de un tiempo si no está en modo agresivo, él se queda protegiendo su bolsa mientras nadie lo moleste, así que decidimos dejarlo allí y luego terminó desapareciendo.

En nuestra búsqueda del Deerclops logré conseguirlo gracias al mod de Aerial View, es gracioso porque solo necesité 2 hits para acabar con él ya que solo tenía algo así como 100 de vida. Fue bastante satisfactorio utilizar un boss para asesinar otro, simplemente creo que es una de las formas más eficientes de asesinar a bosses y quedarnos con su loot. También queríamos hacerlo con pólvora, pero admito que fue un completo desastre y no sirvió para nada ya que simplemente terminé suicidándome.

Luego de haber matado al Deerclops Jota crafteó algo que realmente me encantó y es lo que hizo que recordara este mapa con bastante cariño:

Una estatua de Deerclops que fue lo más reconfortante que hemos llegado a construir. Cada boss en DST dropea un papiro que permite construir una estatua de ese boss en la máquina de escultura, así que construir esto por primera vez fue una de las mejores cosas que pudimos conseguir.

Poco después estuvimos esperando a otro boss que llevábamos esperando con ansias desde el comienzo del mapa:

Nuestra querida reina araña.

Jamás había visto este boss y estaba esperando que apareciera para ver qué tal se comportaba, pero debo admitir que no estaba de ánimos para asesinarla por mí mismo. Me pareció un poco más complicada de asesinar porque a cada momento spawneaba distintos tipos de araña y eso hacía que mi armadura se degradara rápidamente y también mi cordura bajaba extremadamente rápido porque esta araña tiene un aura de reducción de cordura y este varía dependiendo del boss al que te enfrentes.

Esta araña fue bastante extraña, decidimos intentar asesinarla con un Treeguard, pero no logramos hacer que estos bosses empezaran a pelear entre sí. Poco después nos enteramos de que es imposible hacer que estos dos empiecen a pelear ya que ninguno es enteramente agresivo.

También aparecían este tipo de arañas, pero jamás entendí qué hacían exactamente. Tenían una habilidad especial que parecía una onda expansiva cada vez que la lanzaban, asumí que es una especie de veneno o algo así, pero si en algún momento llegué a ser alcanzado por ella, honestamente no recuerdo qué tal era.

¡Y eso fue todo nuestro mapa! No recuerdo muy bien qué pasó después, de hecho, no recuerdo si realmente morimos o qué pasó con este mapa, muy probablemente ya esté borrado porque este mapa fue creado en la pc de Miguel, así que no creo que siga existiendo.

De verdad DST nunca deja de sorprender y es uno de los mejores juegos que he podido jugar hasta ahora. ¡Muchas gracias por leer todo esto!

English Version

First of all I must admit that this map was a long time ago, I think it's been more than a month since the last time I played DST together with Jota, but I never wrote about this map because, to be honest, I completely forgot about it. We played this map when my house still had internet and Jota would come to my house to use my internet and play stuff together.

I remembered we played this because I was going through my Steam screenshots and found a bunch of screenshots I took when we were playing this map. I must admit I'm really surprised with everything we did and we also experienced a lot of new stuff, we even got to briefly see the new biome they added, but we didn't get to go explore it because we were focused on surviving while experiencing other things.

This map started with a good omen because in the first Koalefant tracks we managed to find an Ewecus, basically a sheep that throws boogers and can be considered a mini-boss for the amount of damage it can do.

In this map we decided to play in the most technical and professional way possible, after having watched a lot of DST videos (and to be honest we forgot 50% of everything we saw), we started to build things. We noticed the importance of magic (i.e. crafting to make magic things) and we also built things that would give us a lot of advantages in the late-game. For example: The birdhouse.

*And we also got a lot of gold after giving several items to the pig king.

After killing a few shadows to get Nightmare Fuel, we decided to build the tier 2 machine for magical stuff: the Shadow Manipulator. We had never built it before and it's quite nice to see a lot more stuff to craft, from a flute to things like a bell to call the bigfoot, loool.

We also unlock different craftables such as a fire rod or the ice rod, items that we have never crafteado and that are very useful.

When using the Wolfgang - Wickerbottom combo we had to take advantage of all the food that the map offered us and also all the usefulness of both characters. While Wolfgang needs a lot of food to be able to stay in his Mighty form, Wickerbottom has the ability to grow a lot of berries to keep Wolfgang fed and always be with his buffs.

This is why we had a giant collection of berries that would allow us to be fed any time we needed it, but it's funny because Joseph never got to use the enchantment to make the food grow fast, we never got papyrus to make the books we needed, but at least the food grew and we could eat without needing the books.

As usual, the Deerclops arrived, although it caught us in a slightly awkward place since we were looking for the papyrus to make the books. At that point we just made torches and started to flee towards the house because we had already made a plan beforehand for this situation. It's the first time we were going to see this, but it really was exciting and even though it didn't go exactly how we expected it to, we still made it out of this alive. (Well, I didn't, but Jota did).

We summoned the mighty Klaus to defeat the Deerclops, and honestly it was one of the best ideas we could come up with. It's the first time we've done this and it was quite exciting, Klaus is a boss with an exaggerated amount of health and also has attacks that can easily destroy any character.

I was a victim of this as I was very close to Klaus, after he basically devoured the Deerclops I tried to get close to him to do some damage and also to be close to the fight. It's funny because it didn't kill the Deerclops, from one moment to another the Klaus started to targe us and left the Deerclops aside, which allowed it to escape.

With only 2 attacks the Klaus lowered all my life and I ended up more than dead. It's amazing how far we've come in DST because Jota easily revived me using the spider glands and restored my max life using a syringe that removes the max life debuffs caused by reviving with the spider glands.

After having revived with the spider glands, our second mission was to go and finish the Deerclops. To our luck, the Klaus disappears after a while if he is not in aggressive mode, he stays protecting his bag as long as no one disturbs him, so we decided to leave him there and then he ended up disappearing.

In our quest for the Deerclops I managed to get him thanks to the Aerial View mod, it's funny because I only needed 2 hits to kill him since he only had something like 100 health. It was quite satisfying to use one boss to assassinate another, I just think it's one of the most efficient ways to assassinate bosses and keep their loot. We also wanted to do it with gunpowder, but I admit it was a complete disaster and didn't do any good as I just ended up killing myself.

After killing the Deerclops Jota crafted something that I really loved and is what made me remember this map quite fondly:

A Deerclops statue that was the most heartwarming thing we ever got to build. Every boss in DST drops a papyrus that allows you to build a statue of that boss in the sculpting machine, so building this for the first time was one of the best things we could get.

Shortly after we were waiting for another boss that we had been looking forward to since the beginning of the map:

I had never seen this boss before and I was waiting for it to show up to see how it behaved, but I must admit that I wasn't in the mood to kill it by myself. I found it a bit more complicated to kill because it spawned different types of spiders at every moment and that made my armor degrade quickly and also my sanity went down extremely fast because this spider has a sanity reduction aura and it varies depending on the boss you face.

This spider was quite strange, we decided to try to assassinate it with a Treeguard, but we couldn't get these bosses to start fighting each other. Soon after we found out that it is impossible to make these two start fighting as neither is entirely aggressive.

These kind of spiders also appeared, but I never understood what exactly they did. They had a special ability that looked like a shockwave every time they launched it, I assumed it's some kind of poison or something, but if I ever got hit by it, I honestly don't remember what it was like.

And that was all our map! I don't remember very well what happened next, in fact, I don't remember if we really died or what happened to this map, most probably it's already deleted because this map was created on Miguel's pc, so I don't think it still exists.

Truly DST never ceases to amaze and is one of the best games I've been able to play so far. thank you so much for reading all this!
