Hello everyone!
This week in games that I will only play once every 2 years we have.... Papers Please, one of the most original games we have had over the years and one that thanks to its design and how entertaining its premise can be, still today is amazing to see the amount of gamers it gathers.
I certainly wasn't too attracted to it, I don't know why but with these games I've always had some excuse every time I have a chance to play it or it's recommended to me, I feel that they are not my thing although nothing prevents me from enjoying it once and see if it manages to entertain me.
I never liked the borders between countries, much less in dictatorial countries like mine where the entry and exit of its inhabitants is systematically denied, maybe there is a point that interests me in this game, being someone who works for the government in an immigration booth approving or not those who can pass to the country.
We have two game modes, a story mode where we have a progression and several dates where we learn how to play and what passports to accept, at first it is very simple because we only have to accept the passports of citizens of Arstotzka and none more but as things happen we are conditioning us more and more.
and there are a couple of moments where it seems that everything goes from bad to worse in the story.
There is also the issue of discrepancies, so we are part immigration agent and part detective, we can question people if what we see in their passport is not according to reality, it is an extra step as we can always make the decision beforehand on whether to accept or refuse entry to the citizen.
We play in this story mode over several days where we will not only have to be aware of fulfilling our work in the best possible way but we will also have to manage our earned money to take care of our family and look after their needs.
It is at the end of the work day and we will have a couple of options if for example we want to save some money we can cut the food and heating to our children and thus be able to aspire to a bigger apartment.
This minigame is presented at the end of each of our days and I don't see much motivation to not save as much money as I can, I think there is some ending where we leave our family abandoned and end up imprisoning us but I haven't figured it out, they even put us in charge of our mother in law and uncle so we have enough people to take care of with the money we have.
And so every day we get the news that there is a new order from the high command where we are asked to go through more verification processes and be more attentive to threats to the nation, we are also getting instructions from some mysterious people who want to start a revolution in the country and all this has a subplot.
There is a feeling of stress that the game emulates very well, all the mess that we can get to have in our booth due to the new rules and tools that we are given as well as the characters that are entering the booth, I think this has become my favorite feature.
The amount of faces that we see and that we have to verify is very varied, including officers and revolutionaries who send us tasks that we may or may not fulfill.
Always with our well being as a priority since this government does not forgive those who step out of line even once, there are times when unique events happen that interrupt our workflow and it is often stressful to know when the next attack or attack is.
There are many facets of this game that I like, very demanding on the playable side, the amount of rules that can exist and the pending that we must be of the documents that they give us made me lose some games by overdose of penalties,
I would surely recommend it to someone with the patience required to reach the end of each day.

Esta semana en juegos que solo jugare una vez cada 2 años tenemos a... Papers Please, uno de los juegos mas originales que hemos tenido con el pasar de los años y uno que gracias a su diseño y lo entretenido que puede ser su premisa todavia hoy asombra ver la cantidad de gamers que reune.
A mi ciertamente no me atraia demasiado, no se por que pero con estos juegos siempre he tenido alguna excusa cada vez que tengo chance de jugarlo o me recomiendan, siento que no son lo mio aunque nada me impide disfrutarlo una vez y ver si me logra entretener.
Nunca me gustaron las fronteras entre paises, mucho menos en paises dictatoriales como el mio en donde se le niega sistematicamente la salida y entrada de sus habitantes, quiza ahi hay un punto que me interese de este juego, ser alguien que trabaja para el gobierno en una caseta de inmigracion aprobando o no a los que pueden pasar al pais.
Tenemos dos modos de juego, un modo historia en donde tenemos una progresion y varias fechas en donde aprendemos como jugar y que pasaportes aceptar, al principio es muy sencillo ya que solo tendremos que aceptar los pasaportes de ciudadanos de Arstotzka y ninguno mas pero a medida que van ocurriendo cosas nos van condicionando mas y mas
y hay un par de momentos en donde si parece que todo va de mal en peor en la historia
Tambien esta el tema de las discrepancias, asi que somos parte agente de inmigracion y parte detective, podremos interrogar a la gente si lo que vemos en su pasaporte no es acorde a la realidad, es un paso extra ya que siempre podremos tomar la decision de antemano sobre si aceptar o rechazar la entrada al ciudadano.
Jugamos en este modo historia a lo largo de varios dias en donde no solo tendremos que estar pendientes de cumplir con nuestro trabajo de la mejor forma posible sino que tambien tendremos que administrar nuestro dinero ganado para cuidar a nuestra familia y velar por sus necesidades.
Es al final del dia de trabajo y tendremos un par de opciones si por ejemplo queremos ahorrarnos algo de dinero podemos cortar la comida y la calefaccion a nuestros hijos y asi poder aspirar a un apartamento mas grande.
Este minijuego se presenta al final de cada uno de nuestros dias y no veo mucha motivacion de no ahorrar todo el dinero que pueda, creo que hay algun final en donde dejamos abandonada a nuestra familia y terminan apresandonos pero no lo he descubierto, incluso nos ponen a cargo de nuestra suegra y tio por lo que tenemos bastante gente para atender con el dinero que tenemos.
Y asi cada dia nos llega la noticia de que hay una nueva orden del alto mando en donde nos piden pasar por mas procesos de verificacion y estar mas atento a las amenazas de la nacion, nos van dando instrucciones tambien algunas personas misteriosas que quieren empezar una revolucion en el pais y todo esto tiene una subtrama
Hay una sensacion de estres que el juego emula muy bien, todo el desorden que podemos llegar a tener en nuestra caseta debido a las nuevas normas y herramientas que nos van dando asi como los personajes que van entrando a la caseta, esta creo que se ha convertido en mi feature favorita
La cantidad de caras que vemos y que tenemos que verificar es muy variada, incluyendo oficiales y revolucionarios que nos mandan tareas que podemos o no cumplir
Siempre con nuestro bienestar como prioridad ya que este gobierno no perdona a los que se pasan de la raya ni una sola vez, hay momentos en donde pasan eventos unicos que interrumpen nuestro flujo de trabajo y suele ser estresante saber cuando es el siguiente ataque o atentado.
Hay muchas facetas de este juego que me gustan, muy exigente por el lado de lo jugable, la cantidad de reglas que puede haber y lo pendiente que debemos estar de los documentos que nos entreguen me hicieron perder algunas partidas por sobredosis de sanciones,
seguramente lo recomendaria a alguien con la paciencia requerida para llegar al final de cada uno de los dias
