Hey gamers, how are you? How are you? I hope you're doing well. And this time I'm bringing you a game I've already played before. I think I wrote about Multiversus back in the early days, and well, at that time the game wasn't fully released, so I stopped playing it. Well, yesterday I downloaded the game. It's worth noting that I downloaded it twice because, haha, I couldn't remember where I downloaded it the first time, whether it was from Epic Games or Steam. Later, I discovered it was from Epic.
I logged back in, had to do the tutorial again, quickly, and that's it. I got my account back. I remember I had unlocked Rick Sanchez, and indeed I still had him, the first level in Batman, and a few other things I'd unlocked at that point. So, I didn't say anything. I'm going to check it out, try it out, and see how the game has evolved. What made me come back and download it was an announcement on Steam about Season 5, and I said, well, let's try it. Why not?
The game has a lot of new things: events, a battle pass, new game modes, a ranked championship, and private rooms. The free battle pass is actually pretty good. It seems like they've improved the whole rewards thing a lot. I think people have really addressed this issue of the forced grind to get the prizes, and they've really improved it. In fact, when you enter, they give you a character, nothing fancy, but hey, it's a character (Aquaman). I haven't even used it, haha. But it's easy to climb through the pass rewards, in a way.
The game is super well optimized, no lag, no bad behavior from players, like everywhere else. I mean, suddenly you enter a match and the player on the other team commits suicide four times, and you say, "Why, dude?" hahaha. But anyway, the connection issues the game suffered at times seem to be a thing of the past.
Multiversus is undoubtedly a game that catches your attention simply for having a very similar fighting mode, or let's say just like Super Smash Brothers. Without a doubt, SSB was a game that marked and defined a generation of games and players, and without a doubt, this hook is fundamental to Multiversus. It's what makes you go to it in the first place, plus the whole theme of the WB characters, but in itself, it's this great element.
Now, the fight mode has its things. While it's a very well-designed fight mode in terms of dynamics, the interaction of the characters in the world, and the execution of actions, there's something that doesn't quite convince me with the boxing characters. The characters who don't have melee weapons, like swords, feel super soft when they hit. It's like they don't have the punch or the necessary impact of hand-to-hand combat. Sometimes it feels like you're not attacking, and at the same time, they look slow on screen. And it's not a question of graphics or fluidity issues; it's a matter of design and how the fight action is printed in terms of the mechanical execution of the controls and the reflection of the action on screen with the character. This doesn't happen with characters who have a weapon; it really does feel like a fighting game, that is, the impact of the blows and the action look and feel like one. I don't know if it's my personal perception, but it's something I feel with all the unarmed characters. So, hey, gamers! Are you playing Multiversus? Have you played it yet?
